Well most carbon fiber hoods are primarally fiberglass with a carbon overlay anyways. So I don't see how this is any different.

you watch these how to videos but dont ever realize they make a mold? youll still have to make a mold of the FRP bumper if you want any decent results..

And clearly you do not like to use proper grammar or punctuation either...

You're putting an extra layer of carbon weave/resin over top of a glass kit, What the fuck do you think is going to happen? Its going to get lighter because it looks like carbon fiber now?

After you wrap it, you should paint it to make it look good.

Do you think if I took some shit, and put some other shit on top, the shit combined would weigh more than the original shit?

You think a big ass fiberglass bumper with carbon weave and a extra layer of resin will be lighter than an OEM bumper? Can I get some of whatever you're smoking ?

i'm talking about the fact that you thought adding material to something would make it lighter...

You have to match the resin... you can't use Epoxy on a Poly/Vinyl part because it will not bond and will de-laminate under stress.

Sand the shit out of the part your going to lay up with 100g and rub down with acetone.

Do not use a roller on carbon fiber. Use a 2 sided bagging (envelope) process and draw out the template on the top of plastic, Fold back the top layer of plastic and lay in the carbon nice neat and straight, add resin and fold the plastic template back over, squeege till wet... continue to squeege out the extra resin, out of the envelope. Take really really sharp scissors and cut out your template (plastic/carbon/plastic) as one piece... remove the top layer of plastic and start to lay the carbon side down on your part. Squeege again onto the part from the plastic side. Slowly peel away the plastic and be very carefull when you try to squeege the carbon, if the sqeege is dry it will stick and pull, and watch that the corners dont snag. You can use a small felt painters roller that is lightly coated in resin at this point to help make sure the material is down with no large air bubbles (this will add small surface air bubbles in the resin, this is why sqeege is better). Over all you will have about 20-30 min. if you use a slow cure, out of the sun light, on a cool day... otherwise you have 15 min tops from start to finish.

If you have never done glass work, I do not suggest you attempt this!!
