Heads Up Display

I have a 1996 S14 Silvia that I will probably end up parting out because of too many minor issues it has. For some reason the Heads Up Display is not displaying the speed on my windshield.

Has this happened to anyone before? Is there a fuse or bulb that I can check first to rule out the easy stuff?

You do realize that stateside never got HUDs on S14s right? Its rare enough on S13s as it is.

No I didn't know that, does it require the special windshield or will it work on a normal one?

May not be worth it for me to fix if it requires that windshield, since I'm probably going to start parting that car out in the next week or so.

yup, you need the reflective area on the windshield.

You dont need a special windshield. Just find some opaque window film and cut out a square ans stick it on.

You would have to sell the cluster and harness with it to work.

Dont forget the plastic trim piece that goes on the dash.

I sold my S14 HUD because I couldn't find the trim piece.
