I just got my RB25 swap in, was driving it tonite. I was having some weird issues with it all day, then it got worst. At first, everything is normal, pop it in neutral and you have the usual play in it. After driving it for a bit, then shifter will get stiff in neutral (side to side play) I'd have to pull real hard towards me to get it to line up with 1st. This would go on for about 20 mins then its back to normal again. Well on my way home, I downshifted from 5th to 4th, car acted like its in neutral. Tried 3rd, nothing. Pulled over, still had 1st and 2nd. Limped the car home in 2nd. I had to hold the shifter into 2nd cuz it felt like it was slowly popping out of gear.

So question now is, what could it be in the tranny? Pin popped out or tranny is thrashed?

Just did the swap and only drove it for a day, fluid is as fresh as itll get. I'll drain it tomorrow and see if anything funky comes out.

Shuddup Mark...

Well, I took the car out for a spin again. While going thru the gears, I noticed something really funny. After I slap it into any gear, I can rotate the shifter 360 all the way around and it seemed like it had alot more play. So, I thought maybe somethings up with the shifter. Rip thru it, pulled the shifter out the end was missing the plastic bushing...

Nopes, definitely not clutch line or clutch related. I can feel my clutch engage on and off at 1st and 2nd. Mastercylinder was upgraded to a Z32 one 6-8 months ago and using a Nismo slave cylinder, running a TS2BD clutch.

Yea its the bushing. Had a ebay shifter with plastic bushing, drove the car for a month and the bushing got eaten up.
