I got this turbo recently, does anyone here have experience with it? With the limited info I found on the internet, I wasn't able to find much about the capabilities of it.

http://zilvia.net/f/attachment.php?attachmentid=44305&stc=1&d=1349458206

Now for the next couple pics, I'm looking for the sizes of lines I'll need. I'm looking to run those custom AN lines and such, but lost as to what size I will need.

Can anyone direct me as to which hole is which? I believe, the oil feed, oil return, and water line????

http://zilvia.net/f/attachment.php?attachmentid=44308&stc=1&d=1349458336

Lastly, anyone know the sizes to these studs?

Thanks for your help.

you can use the regular lines that everyone buys for the turbo except you'll have to buy one fitting for the oil feed to make it work. its a adaptor fitting between oil feed and turbo. i forgot which adaptor but i know this turbo's fitting is the same as mitsubishi turbos. where did the turbo come from? i think Apexi turbos are made from IHI, correct me if i'm wrong.

Power enterprise 1420 turbo i believe. Z33 guys run these in their TT set up.

the long block that i bought already has a fitting (-10? i'm not sure, i'ts a really big opening though) and is ready for one of the lines.

The fittings will most likely be Metric since its made in Japan. You can go to a hardware store and try on metric bolts on the ports to see if they screw in.
The studs look like M10... maybe M10x1.25.

Then you can get Metric to AN fittings for the feed and drains.

According to this place the FEED and DRAIN for the coolant seem to be M12x1.25
Adapter M12x1.25 MHI TF035HM TD04 Turbo Coolant 5mm (http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/adapterfitting10anmaletood20mmbrab-4-3-3-2.aspx)

And the OIL FEED and DRAIN m10x1.25 also

Adapter Fitting M10x1.25 mm TRUSTs' TD04H T517Z T518Z TD06SL2 Turbo (http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/adapterfittingm10x125mmtruststd04ht517zt518ztd06sl 2turbo.aspx)

I hope that helps.

thank you guys.

one request, can you guys point out which picture is the feed/drain/water cooling/ etc?

i read up on these things, apparently i need an oil restrictior? too much gets in and messes the seals up.

the pic with the flange with 2 holes around the bigger one is your oil drain. Directly on the opposite side will be your oil feed and the other 2 are going to be coolant. With the coolant it doesn't matter which one is supply and return.

oil drain hose connects to the bottom bung on the block?

where would the oil supply connect to? what about the coolant?

I just installed this turbo on my SR. I used DIF 10048 lines.

i hope you got an oil restrictor.

because of the design, these turbos get flooded with oil, and that will make the turbo go bad. i got a 1.5mm restriction on it..

Dude take the turbo with you to a hardware store, and they will try on different sizes on there. Those 3 bolts are probably m8x1.25

All of the fittings were too small. Even the bolts to the turbo oil drain were too small.

The studs for the exhaust side were too big.

just buy the t28 turbo install kit from frsport. comes with all the studs, nuts and stuff. and ask them if your turbo will work with the kit

^ it will be much easier to get a kit rather than piecing up a kit.

Why do you need a restrictor for this turbo when its a journal bearing turbo?

godsmack

I'm not 100% but pretty sure that you only need one if you don't use the banjo bolt.

it's a dual ball bearing... ?

kits are over $100, if i'm able to piece together lines and fittings, it will save me $30 or so.

From what I've read, I was under the impression that they were all journal bearing turbos, just like most Mitsubish TD05/06 turbos.

I have an IHI RHC6 turbo...
