whats up with the coilover kits that only come with the springs, tubes and tops? they look like a cheap, nonreliable substitute for the real deal. can they be trusted as a tight-budget install?
ive seen them as cheap as 50 bucks

dont get those really cheap ones, buy some ground control coilovers if you are gonna get that kind of coilover. And get a good shock.
Its a cheap and decent alternative. My friend had GCs and AGXs for a while, did a bunch of autocrosses and a drift event (with 2 way being his only other mod), he did great. But it does not compare to real coilovers.

I think GC is an excellent set up, run it with say, koni yellows, it can be a very nice set up, especially you can spec your own spring rates.
Just make sure you mate the right springs w/ the right strut/shocks. I've heard that AGX's tend to blow easily, that's just what i've heard.

Haven't heard that about AGXs, but he only had the setup for less than a year, has HEs now.
And ya they have a very wide range of adjustments.
