a SER specV isn't that fast though, especially if you're friend isn't a great driver. i think it rates at 170hp and a little less tq? with torque steer and FWD, you stand a chance if you have some skill.
real hp gains is hard to come by... you should be thinking of realistic ways to make your car faster quickly... easiest thing to do is strip... take everything out of the car that you can. rearseat, passenger seat, spare tire, big spoiler, big speakers/woofers, carpets, garbage, sound deadening. etc. strip the damn thing to hell. hell, take off the front and rear bumper. drive nekkid! make sure u poop b4 u race! :P get new and/or higher grip tires. get smaller and lighter wheels. if u have cash grippier clutch/light flywheel.

ok this is a really simple project, doesnt take hardly any supplies
supplies:
magic marker
piece of tape
dodge viper
ok, heres the steps:
1)take the tape and put it over all the viper logos and badging
2)write/draw nissan and 240 logos over the old logos
3)go race
i mean, wtf do you expect us to tell you...were you hoping for one of us to tell you that you could put magic fairy dust in you gas tank and it will add 300hp?
anything that you can do to make your beat his will take more than a week for all the parts to get to you? and who cares if you need to beat a sentra...

be very carful when going super duper sized ultra turbo exhausts on NA. You are looking at more HP gain, but you will lose TQ. Tq is what drives the car, HP is only for high rpm, ie track.

Black market Russian solid booster rocket bungy corded to the top of your car. With this you should be able to run....oh....high 12s. I have a few laying around, just PM me. Every unit I sell comes with a roll of duct tape for that added safety.
run no headers, no exhaust and no intake...just run it on you block!

We arent talking about civics. It's been proven several times by reliable sources (magazines and reputable Freshalloy members) that turbo size exhausts make power on KA with NO torque loss whatsoever. In fact HP and torque increases across the entire curve.

slash his tires
thats really the only chance you stand, that or trade in your 240 on car that is fast in a straight line.

alex chang did a writeup about this on freshalloy completely disproving your theory.
edit: not trying to flame you, but check it out. it's good stuff.

just to help you out, I think I read an article on SCC about increasing HP on KA's, and the one item that most significantly increased torque and HP was the Underdrive Pulleys on the KA...
