will this work? I know almost any STB should work, but there are some that won't. Can you guys give me tips about good and bad STBs?
I know some things I should look for, such as:
-how thick the bar is
-make sure it fits over engine and doesn't hit hood
Anything else? what about the joints? is there something important I should take note of?
TIA

A strut bar is just a strut bar....I don't care what anybody says... If it links between the towers and fits properly it will serve it's pupose.
Would I ever pay over 100 bucks for one...HELL NO! STBs sever the same pupose and if it fits it will work. I tryed a Cusco CF STB on my car and it felt no different then the EBay special that I have now.
Cusco= $300+ (bling,bling)
Ebay=$19.99+shipping (function)
If it's cheap get it, if it's expensive forget it!
Note: I am sure someone will come on here and try to justify their bling bling bar but myself and some friends came up with some numbers that proves otherwise.

cool, thanks. I"m guessing this one should work then. It is $50, so I'll probably get it since its local. I'll probably just ask the seller to let me install it to make sure 100% it fits correctly. That should take care of STILLEN's fit problem on the RSTB on the z32, and $50 is not bad.
Thanks

I've got a Stillen bar on the front of my S13. I got it back in 1997, before anybody made good quality cheaper bars. It's beefy as a Fuddrucker's burger and fits perfectly.
I've only got two fairly minor complaints. First, you have to remove the bar to get to the #3 spark plug. This could be fixed by redesigning the brackets, but then the bar wouldn't be directly in line between the struts so it'd therefore be less effective. Second, since only one end of the bar has a threaded-in heim joint you can't really adjust the preload by twisting it like a turnbuckle.
If you can get the Stillen bar for a good price, go for it. Otherwise, there's plenty of other good bars available for less money.
