Ok I will try to explain this strange problem as best as I can..

background info: 98 se stock (couple bolt on's) possible previous owner wiring work. Fuel works and is getting spark.

The problem occurrence: I bought this 240 not too long ago, drove it an hour home. Runs good although it felt like it kinda bogged as if its timing was off or its not reading air properly (not a huge deal but it just didn't pull like other 240s). Spent some time restoring cosmetics, and I decided to drive it around. So I took the car out it drove like it normally does, when out of no wjere it starts bogging really bad an starts mis firing and wanting to die. It barely made it to the side of the road. Tried starting it and it wouldnt start. After 5min it fires up fine and drives home. I decide to take it out again later, it drives fine and again while driving it starts sputtering and dies. This time it doesn't start anymore. It will fire a couple cylinders but not even enough to idle.

What I've checked: I checked for spark, seems to be fine. I checked fuel and its definitely getting fuel. My suspicion is that its the maf. But my dad has a 98 altima and I took the maf out of that to see if it would help, but it didn't do anything. I should mention I noticed my oxygen intake temp sensor was missing when I came home and I replaced it and it started but died immediately and still won't start. I'm out of ideas..

Thanks a lot for reading guys I hope someone here can help me..

bogs after 3kRPMS?? if so, MAF related issue.

It didn't necessarily bogg after 3k but it did feel a slight sluggish. But like I said I tried swapping the maf with a 98 altima and it didn't make a difference. And even if it was the maf would that cause the car to not start at all? Could it be the wiring to the maf?

First, do you have any codes? If yes, and you didnt pull them, go pull them.
And you said you 'seem' to have spark. WTF does that mean? You either do or you dont.
What is your idle RPM?

Try starting the car, if the car wont start, pull your spark plugs out and smell them. Do they smell like fuel?
Take a pic of plugs and post here.

If car starts:
Get the car in neutral and pull up the ebrake. Let it warm up on idle for 2 minutes. Rev the car up to 7000rpms a few times and then let it idle. see what happens for a few seconds, then rev it all the way to 7000rpms again and see what happens.

Now pull the maf off, and let the car idle. What is the idle rpm? Rev the car up to 4000rpm and see what happens.
Turn car off, plug maf back in.
