so i changed the front crank shaft seal. when i had the harmonic balancer off i noticed it had large clumps of dried oil/dirt so i put it in the parts washer to was when i took it out i noticed it had rubber on the back of it. i assembled everything back and it was fine no squeal. then about a day later i started hearing this low squeal i assumed it was a pulley or one of my belts so i sprayed lightly on the belts and on the pulley and it continued then i sprayed it on the crank shaft pulley and it stopped then continued again.
i have searched to see if anyone else has had this problem but most peoples problems are of the harmonic balancer coming off....
could my dumbass have damaged the rubber by putting it in the parts washer? it cant be the crank shaft pulley i made sure everything was tight and even put thread lock on it. and when i installed the front seal i put light oil on it to get it to slide in. theres no leaks anymore just this annoying little squeal.
could it be the rubber behind the harmonic balancer?
any one have any input?
