I just thought I would throw this out to the community. I found out that batteries have a 1 year shelf life. After that 1 year, stores like AutoZone, Advanced Auto Parts, Oreily's Auto etc can't warranty these batteries. They must sell them as a USED battery.
I picked up an Optima Red Top(originally $204.99) at Auto Zone last night for $44.99 with a $10 core. If you need a battery for cheap and don't mind the warranty being voided, check these places out and see if you can claim one of them. It took me 2 months to get mine but I only paid a Quarter of the price so I can deal with no warranty.
And for those of you who don't believe me, I can show a pic of the battery with the receipt. lol. Hope this helps some of you guys who are on a budget.
Enjoi,
Andrew
