Modified meaning - Relocated or removed certain components / customized, Paint, polished, or detailed the entire bay, etc.

Wanted to see if anyone out there took pride in keeping a tidy engine bay.

Pss. Side After:

Used Home Depot Rustoleum (High performance, Industrial strenght enamel) this time. To complete bottles (6+ coats)

My reason for pulling motor was to pretty much take care of everything that I wasnt sure off (long trips, reliability, tidy up engine bay, etc.)

Everythign torqued to spec, and did the following
Re-installed Turbo Stainless Earl lines w/ better routes (away from exhaust) w/ liquid gasket on fittings
New Exhaust manifold gasket
Loctite on all Power Steering & Alternater bolts (re-torque).
New Tranny (B&M assembly) gasket w/ Liquid Gasket also
Flushed Brake Fluid - upgraded (old fluid 80k miles on it)
Flushed Power Steering Fluid - upgraded
All new Brake lines (hardlines), torqued down

Basically inspected everything else, and made bay spotless. Now any drop of oil i see, is new hehe. Also combined with complete new suspension & links (arms, rods, etc) makes for an all around better condition & can take whatever I dish out ;)

dont mind me, felt like posting all the work done -

Here's a quick question.. Are the engine bay always the same color as the car? I have a 90 S13 in a dark blue but the engine bay is black! Curious to see if anyone else has experienced this and if it's normal.. thanks.

BlueS13, your car has most likely been repainted. Usually when a car is repainted they DO NOT paint the engine bay, unless you pay a ton of cash, because that's a pain in the ass (taking out the motor/parts etc.).

mine is a S14 and it's black, same as the trunk lid. I also have a sticker saying something about hard enamal do not paint. blah blah blah.

Meant a new gasket + added layer of liquid gasket on in-between. Got the gasket @ Singh Auto Parts (local, best prices around.)

No more smell of gear oil when tossing the car around (drift / toque)

Hmm.. repainted? that's no good.. the carfax reports don't mention anything about any accidents and everything else in the car is blue.. interior, trunk, carpet, etc.. IF it was repainted, that would mean it would be a huge accident where they cut off the front end, right? Cus the blue pretty much seems like original paint.

ultraprince - do u mean your whole car is black or just the bay and trunk? What color is your car?

my 1993 coupe is the same way, nice dark blue color with black engine bay. i don't believe car hasn't been repainted because i pulled the interior parts out of the car and there was blue all under the carpets/headliner. i think that's just the way our cars came :x:
