Ok so a little while back i was drivig and my car just died, no throttle response, nothing. When i pulled over i checked the oil there was none so i thought it was seized due to the engine not turning over. Just one click from the starter each time i turn the key.
Got back off of vacation, for shits and giggles try and turn it on... Turns over very sluggish, so its not locked up. Finally get it to the shop, get it on the lift pull the drain plug a few quarts of oil still in it even more to the engine not locked up. Pulled the plugs and compression tested it, 90 across the board except cyl.4 which is down to 60. Ok rings need replaced but still no reason it shut off. Put everything back on, engine starts... Then turns right back off, try to turn it on over and over, goes through a cycle starter tries to engage, cranks but sluggish, then starts. But it always dies on its own.

Any ideas or anyone had this issue, the swap was not done by me but veryclean and well executed swap (for all you haters)

The issues brainstormed has been bad ground, headgasket??, injector or FPR issue causing cyl to flood and lock.
Any help or info would be great, thanks ahead of time

Could be a lot of stuff. You need to test spark plugs, wires, injectors, cap, rotor, sensors. Most likely it is a sensor/wiring/power source. But you need to give more details. How long before it dies when you get it to start? What's the idle? Does the engine shake?

If i give it no gas it dies after a second or 2, cant really idle because it will just die but when i got it to idle for a very short time it was in normal rpms. No engine shake

Ok so the only way it idled is when you gave gas. That means there is a problem most likely with tps, or iacv. What do the trouble codes say?

Correct, only way it idled is when gas is pressed, didnt check trouble codes.

But today i was under it and noticed there was corrosion on the hot starter terminals, cleaned them. Also talked to a friend of mine said it could have an issue with the MAF, started it while connected same thing idled for a second around 800 then shut off. Disconnected the MAF and it idles with no gas and doesnt shut off, but idles around 500

So i believe that may have fixed the issue on hand, but i have doubts that it actually caused the car to shut off while driving and keep it from starting again. Spoke to the same friend who informed me about the maf, said it is possible.. Any comments ideas or anyone ever heard of that?

It sounds like you should give up on cars if you only had a couple quarts of oil in your engine.

uhhh no. I had the same thing happen to my civic, doesnt mean I dont know about cars. Could be many legit reasons. And your retarded comment in NO WAY contributed to this thread.

anyway. The MAF very well could be bad. Because when the MAF is bad, ALOT can happen. If it is unplugged, the ecu goes into limp mode. The car runs super rich and it backs timing off by a few degrees to protect the motor. If the MAF somehow isnt working properly, OR the wires are not connected correctly, then it can mess with fuel, timing, and air.

Dont buy parts until you know though. Borrow a MAF from someone or test it according to the fsm

If you would have read what i said earlier, i was under the impression that my engine had locked up due to no oil. So i was referring to it having oil, and whether or not it had the full amount of oil or only a couple quarts is irrelevant an i was stating it had oil to crush my first theory.

Thank you shift down for your help and not trying to make me out like a fool,
Ill see who all around actually has anything that i could borrow.. People with anythig around here is far and few between due to im in the army and most of the people in the area into cars are younger and think a fartcan and neons make a 10 second car (f&f)
