How much noise should a new clutch be making?
I had a spec stage 2 installed by the local Nissan dealer(yes, I had it installed instead of doing it myself, it's still winter here and I don't have time). lol. And, it seems really loud.

What kind of noise are you talking about?

When does it make noise. Is it when the clutch is engaged or disengaged.

Sorry, I wasn't more specific.
It makes chattering(sounds like shit is flopping around) noises when I'm idling and it just whines really really badly when I accelerate. Hell, It sounds like a damn semi now.
I don't have a lot of experience with manual transmissions, so I was hoping that these sounds were just "break-in" related. But, now I'm not so sure.

My SPEC Stage I clutch's throw out bearing makes a chattery semi-like noise at idle and has done so since I got it put on about 1100 miles ago. Hasn't gone away and I don't really expect it to. Since I can't really even hear it over regular traffic noises and can never hear it when my stereo is on I pretty much don't worry about it anymore. I've heard people say that SPEC throw out bearings are noisy so I figure I just got a noisy one and live with it. Not that big of a deal to me as long as everything works fine. :)

you only hear a bad throw out bearing when you're on the clutch pedal (disengaged). if the clutch is up (engaged) and you're hearing a noise, its something else.

Spec is notorious for chattery throw out bearing. Sometimes it goes away...sometimes it doesnt.

Thank you all for the responses.
Now that I've driven it around for another day it seems to be getting better.
The Whining noise is gone and the chattering may be becoming quieter, or maybe I'm just getting used to it.........who knows.
Truthfully the "chattering" is what was getting on my nerves, I can only hope that it lessens as I put more miles on it.
