I just came back from the plating shop. This is what awesome quality chrome plating is supposed to look like. These guys have been in business since 1955. Here's some teaser pics:

I wanted to be different since a lot of people with the Greddy manifold just have it polished. I wanted something that looked nice and has low maintenance. I didn't want the finish to dull like a polished finish does over time. I know, it's much bling... but what the hell.

It was $500.00 just for the Greddy plenum and $100.00 for everything else. It includes cleaning, bead blasting, and chroming.

The quality of the work looks great. Is that $500 just for the manifold to be chromed, or $500 for the manifold and chroming. (No need to answer that) but I find that rather expensive; then again, I am not sure how much a good shop charges for chroming.
Looks good man, total opposite of what I am doing...

yah same question...I mean id see a point in chroming the intake too. I think it would actually be functional. But $500 jes for chroming is hell. thats a lil below $1k jes for the manifold and chrome work.
can you not spell just?
and what purpose would the intake chroming serve?
i think it looks sweet personally...i wouldnta paied 500 for it but thas cuz i dont have 500 to spend on chrome lol

Bling blang, Chrome looks so clean.
I think the chrome is definitely looking good... I wish I had that kind of money to throw away on chroming anything and everything in the engine bay! :p
If your car ends up looking anything like the blue/turquoise SR'd 510 in the socal meet pix page of yours, that would be awesome.
BTW What are you doing about rear suspension, keeping the leaf springs, or doing some sort of subframe swap? Custom subframe, maybe...?

I am doing a 280ZX suspension swap to do the disc brakes... coil springs.. Cusco front camber plates... still ironing everything out though.

chrome looks nice. Not my cup of tea. Still cool though. polishing and chroming gets too hot for my tastes.

definitely looks nice. i want chrome too but then i heard chrome plating retains heat. polishing dulls after a while, but it helps dissapate heat better than chrome. thats what i hear. anyone else havee an opinion?

what is their turn around time and do they do mail order? Reason I ask is, a lot of places cannot/will not chrome aluminum and I'm looking to have some work done myself. If you could direct me to a website or contact info I would appreciate it.
