Planning on moving to the irvine/lake forest area, how is the drifting culture there? Where are the nearest track and drift days? I plan on getting a 240sx in CA. I also plan on going to UCI and saw they had a import club.

Anything else I should know about the area?

Thanks

You don't need a race track, Irvine has great streets that are super smooth and street drifting is high encourage by all.

I live in Irvine now. I've seen a few clean 240sx around... along with other cars.

Stay posted on Zilvia, they have, if it still happens, El Torro drift days. Which is about 20 minutes or so from UCI.

Then you have your Thursday drift at Adams Track in Riverslide.

And your occasional Drift days at HTM or etc.

Pretty quiet here though, one of the safest city to live in from what I've heard. I'm from Inland Empire.

Irvine is a great place to live.

But if you roll around with a loud exhaust expect to be pulled over, every third time you drive through.

They are on top of keeping their city safe and quiet.

Do not race anyone in irvine. Do not drift. Trust me. Just keep it on the track. And get a silencer.

Otherwise Irvine cops are very nice and the city is clean and there is the longest running meet in Irvine every weds night in the thread that tacotacotaco posted. Dont come to the meet if you are an asshole though. :D

Irrelevant, I have a single came with 3 inch back exhaust. I try to tip toe around when I'm in irvine. First day I got my car I was pulled over within half a mile from the fwy...moving from Chicago?

It's really quiet in this part of California. Its a quiet retirement suburb where the main job occupations would be amongst the healthcare industry. Its a place where old people reside.

However, the workers bring their kids and are now left with nothing to do. There's a huge underground scene; you just have to poke around and shake the right hands. Stay away from street racing unless you want the overly-funded cops here to give you trouble. We're talking Dodge Charger cruisers as well as a bunch of Chevy Tahoe's.

Just attend the meets, be civilized and don't be a Honda prick like that last guy at a meet here. I love the fact that Irvine is so close to all the "tuner" shops where you can buy almost anything. FRSport is just up the freeway to Fountain Valley where you can buy S13 anything
