hence the reason you should go 5-lug..

..so that people dont laugh at you. :)

can you imagine spending all that money on wheels and NOT going with 5-lug/brake conversion.. having puny brakes behind massive high-quality wheels? weaksauce

they make big brake upgrades for 4 lug too.

hence the reason you should go 5-lug..

why, if you can get the wheels you want in the size you want what's the point. getting 5 lug brakes to fit on 4 lug hubs is a piece of cake, hardly a reason to upgrade.

because 5 lug is better than 4 lug, thats why. :)

4-lug or 5-lug, i dont care, SSR Professors are the absolute sex. I have a set on my FD right now, I love the way it looks. I have been thinking about getting another set for my green Kouki, bronze w/ silver lip......

I will see if I can get a digital camera rounded up and take pictures of my FD as well.

hahaha, he knows whats up...

4 lug just looks weak...not a valid reason...but yea...

dont they come in almost any offset?

Got Sileighty?
03-09-2004, 01:42 PM
it looks like those professors are available in 4lug, so whats the problem?

if you can get the wheels you want, does it matter how many lugs you have?

i have 4-lug pride here hehehe. who needs an a 5th lug anyway? its just more work taking off your wheels :coold:

I'm assuming that 4 lug has way less choices in offsets...but this is the first time i seen a wheel company offer 4 lug in wide ranges of widths

4 lug = boy
5 lug = man
6 lug = pimp

more lugs, more strength. come on you pansies, upgrade your cheap 4-lug hubs with stock brakes and step into the arena.

But if you convert to 5-lug you can run 16x8 +50 OEM RX-7 wheels!!!!1 :aw:

Finding 4-lug big brake kits is no problem, finding nice 4-lug wheels in good widths/offsets is a little tougher but still doable, so what's the big deal with staying 4-lug? Arguing about something this arbitrary = :wtf:

Aesthetically, 5 lug does look better, but for all other reasons its not worth switching if you can find good 4 lug wheels. Besides, that's one less lug and nut you have to spin around... equating to about .0000000000001 decrease in rotational inertia and unsprung weight! That's right.. 4 lug is more hardcore.

alt> But if you convert to 5-lug you can run 16x8 +50 OEM RX-7 wheels!!!!

...and 16x8 +38 black racing wheels
...and 16x8 -15 demon camber wheels

Besides, those FD wheels are 14-15lbs/ea! Beat that sukka! :)

i mean really now, who cares what the offset is as long as its WIDE.

the bottom line? 5-lug rocks. anyone who doesnt have 5-lug = weak. :)

haha

You can get demon cambers in 4 lug, if you don't care for offsets demon cambers are not right for you.

The wheels salty has are about the same weight 4 lug, wider, look better, and better offsets.

Only thing better about 5 lug is better choice, but to say 4 lug sucks with weak examples

4-lug sucks.. dont get butt-hurt because its true. :)

but besides that, name me an OEM wheel that is 16x8, 5-lug, and weighs less than 15lbs. Last I checked, the FD and the R32 GT-R wheels were the only TWO that are that light. the FD of course, being easily attainable, good looking, and inexpensive.

yeah.. i fucking rock.

Well if we were all into buying stock wheels then ya 5 lug owns, but why buy those when you can find better looking used aftermarket wheels.

Yeah that's it...maybe next time I will come with something more educational.

4 lug = great for old school wheels and starting out, still can get alot of wheels you want, but usualy have to pay more

5 lug = cheap stock 5lugs, more choices, better offsets

If your into old school, rock the 4, if you like bad ass low offset more avl. get 5lug

KID> Well if we were all into buying stock wheels then ya 5 lug owns, but why buy those when you can find better looking used aftermarket wheels.

this is why you are the KID dynomite, which isnt as cool as Dolomite OR MC Dynomite (boom!). Most OEM wheels are built to pretty strict standards and more balanced and durable, so I chose the FD wheel. There were actually 2 runs of FD wheels, one set was extremely light and fragile.. the other was a bit heavier but more durable. But thats not the point, the point is that:
1) They are easily attainable
2) They are perfectly wide
3) They are extremely light
4) They are good looking
5) They are inexpensive

The only other OEM wheel thats comparable is the R32 GT-R wheel, and again.. those are not cheap and they are not easily attainable.. but they do look good and are just as wide and are *almost* as light.

Again... 5-lug is the hotness.

Damn Burmonster!! That car is FRESSHH! You got other pics. of that? If so, post them. Also, where did you source those wheels in bronze and what are their specs.?

5-Lug does add strength and looks better too. Couple that with broader wheel choices and 5-Lug is a must.

I'll name another light stock 5-lug wide 16" wheel.... Z32 TT rear wheels

16x8.5 +35.... 16lbs each booya (clears Z brakes too)

Why don't more people run these all around?

Its not my car, just an example of what I would like to do to my Kouki. The specs and info on the car were posted on here a few weeks ago. I will see what I can find on it. I am still trying to find a digital camera so that I can post of pictures of my FD with the SSRs on.
