I was just curious I have an 02' 4 cylinder Xterra with the stock KA and a five speed. I was curious if the kits made avalable for the s14 would fit on it (being the same engine). maybe Greedy kit? Or what about the SR will it fit in there cause I want to use the same transmission so would that bolt up to the SR? I know there is the supercharged 6 cyl. but thats no fun I want turbo :boink: . Any ideas???

Are you sure its a freakin KA? I thought the KA died with the 240sx in '98

Yup, the Xterra has the KA...rated at 143hp

Here is a good guide for Nissan engines in various models Engine Guide (http://www.freshalloy.com/cars/nissan/nissan_engines.html)

s14unimog, I am not sure if the kits that are made for the 240 KA would work with the KA in the Xterra given the differences in the way that the engine is set up machanically, but it could work, but just to research. As for a SR in the Xterra, remember, anything is possible with money. Why stop with at SR, if you are going to do it, do it right, get an RB26 w/ tranny and get a 4wd offroading twin turbo beast. Or, if you wandted to get really, really, really crazy, swap in a SR20VET into the Xterra from the X-Trial, that would be amazing....276hp "4 banger" in the sport-ute. You would get made props from my direction.

Better idea, buy the VET and give it to me, see if I can get into one of my s13s

4 banging offroad vehicles isn't that great of an idea. That's so sweet that the KA is still around. More interchangeable parts I'm sure especially for all the people with KA turbos.

burmonster: SR20VET is a fwd platform motor.

unimog: it can probably be done, but it'll take some finesse, and maybe some creativity in swapping intake manis and MAFs and such around.

SR20VET comes in an awd platform with an awd trans in the X-trail GT in Japan

I say skip the KA and go with the Supercharged V6 engine. If the KA fits then you know the VG will fit with new mounts. If I had the time and money I would attempt this swap. Could be a legal CA swap if done correctly. I would love to pop my hood for CHP then point out the BAR referee sticker. :Owned:
