so i was wondering and i wanted some input on turbos before i buy my new turbo

my setup is:
87mm cp pistons
apexi hg
eagle rods
bc head springs retainers arp head studs (stock cams atm upgrading to 262)
550 injectors
isis intake manI
fmic

i wana hit around 400 hp i was thinking 20 psi on a disco potato
that is my main turbo i was thinking about going with cuz i want the good spool with the hp and plenty of power range

but i also wanted to go top mount with a gt30 or hx35

input?

My opinion is gt3071 and fyi "disco potato" refers to the gt28rs not the gt30

i made 11hp short of 400 on my now for sale hks gtrs.... this was at 17 psi pump gas and it has plenty left in it...... it will definitly spool faster than both of those too....

If you want 400 from a disco potato you would need decent cams bigger injectors and make sure you upgrade your fuel pump.

I'm already running my gt28r on 91 on 15 pounds. With 550 injectors lol I already did the walbro 255 upgrade :)

- A tune is required for any drastic changes you make to a motor setup.

- 550cc's are too small for your 400hp goal.

- A disco potato will not reach 400hp

- GT2871R can hit 400hp with supporting mods and keeping relatively quick spool. You will never see that same spool as a stock turbo as you increase in size/hp potential.

- It's spelled input not imput...
