Ok, this is what I'm working with:
CWest Front and Sides
MSports Front Fenders (30mm)
GTP Rear Fenders (50mm)
Bomex T3 Rear Under Spoiler
Attain Front Headlight Cover

PLEASE: IGNORE THE HOOD...It was an experiment (long story).
I'll be trashing it for the BN Sports or Yashio Factory hood.

Anyways, I'll be finishing up the molding of the rear fenders next week. Tell me what you all think...

Also, (look at the front quarter view picture):
See how the sideskirts stick out a little bit?
Should I keep em' flared out like that or should I sand it down and mold it in completely?

Let me know every1...If you think it's "ricey." I don't care - flame the crap outta me, I want honest opinions...
I'm only doing it cuz' it's functional for cooling the motor and wider wheels.

But let me know all...

never mold body parts
that's just stupid!

the hood..yeah..dump tha POS hehe..good job

keep the sides flaring out

and what wheels you getting to fit those 50mm rear fenders?
PLEASE SAY YOU CUT OUT THE OLD REAR FENDER!

that rear bumper is the suck!

yeah molding is not good

Agreed... the rear bumper is absolutely fuck all. I also hope you cut the rear fenders out... because otherwise, you've gained no ability to run wider rear wheels.

Front 3/4 of car looks good... I'm sorry, the rear underspoiler is just ass. DON'T mold parts, beacause when you bump something or someone bumps you, it's all gone to shit. Besides, it looks nicer un-molded. (Yes, quarter panels included!)

Also, I hope you're getting some suspension and stuff to back the wild kit up.

what can we do about the fuel door?! :coolugh:

yea many people tell you its cool to mold in.. but if you plan on keeping the car along time.. and crack a bumper really bad or want to change style (im on my 4th kit) its just pointless.. and a kit painted right and put on right always looks good no matter what... but the rear fenders it ok.. i think they look bad with rivits..

btw, i forgot to tell you i like the kit.. i think the rear will look nice once painted and get a nice low wing.. that will set it off.. also tell your friend in the integra not to drive that to a 240sx convention..

I glued on the rear fenders to the regular body without cutting out the actual wheel well. But, I will be taking off my wheels and putting it on jacks tomorrow.

From there i'll be grinding the wells out (from the inside) to expose enough space for some 17 x 9 or so...

What else...

On the gas cap, GTP also included a seperate fuel door cover to mold onto the stock one. It brings the door out so it's all flush. I'll be doing that last...

I'm using the 180SX wing. Nice and low, functional, and not to flashy...

I know the rear bumper is kinda off. What would you all suggest as a replacement (if I don't keep it)? How about the CWest to complete the kit?

After I finish the body, I'll be doing all suspension work first. No engine work, not yet anyway. Wheels will be my #1 priority. I swear with these fenders you can see my steelies for $H!+!! You can fit half your hand in there before you touch em.

But, other than those issues? Is it ok?

17x9? -45 offset i hope!
HAHA
i run 17x9 on my stock fenders!!!!

AAA240SX
03-08-2004, 08:52 PM
Oh yea...one more thing...
I'll be using House Of Kolor's Cobalt Blue over a Cobalt Blue Urethane Base Coat, mixed with their 3 stage clear coat. It will be a darker blue.

Check the links page up top here in Zilvia. Dan Chin's car with the same kit, is using a blue similar to the one I have (but not exact).

What rim size would you suggest for the 25mm front and 50mm rear Dousan?

Dousan_PG
03-08-2004, 08:58 PM
oh shit
17x9 front..0 offset
18x10 0 offset
should fit decently w/ almost no camber
go 10.5 would be better in rear though..hmm offset...not sure..probably around 0ish? i suck at wide fenders but i know fornt will be ok

you can fit 12s in the rear easy...50mm is A LOT of fender. too much, imho. unless you are pumping out some SERIOUS power

10 +0 sounds good, but 11 or 11.5 +0 might be better methinks..
9.5 +30 is nice'n'flush with stock fenders on my car, and 11 +0 extends out 49mm more, so there's my 2 cents. :coold:

Damn, those are crazy ass sizes.

I'm lookin at the Super Advan Gen 2's.
18x10.0 5lug 114.3 +45

How will those match up to the fender? If I slap some on some wheel spacers will it help?

If not, I can always get the Volk rims. Any style - they make massive ass sizes up to frikkin 18 x 13... But, I like the Advan's better...Let me know

Dousan_PG
03-08-2004, 09:44 PM
+45 HELL NO
super inda fender
you NEED near 0 offset on a 10" (maybe even 0 offset!)

spacers?
if you said so dump your wide fender,s you dont deserve them

AAA240SX
03-08-2004, 09:55 PM
I figured it'd be stupid to say spacers. Thanx 4 gettin me rite, haha.
Anyways, screw Advan then...

Volk GT-7: 18 x 10 +12 Offset
or
Volk GT-7: 18 x 11 +11 Offset

Dousan_PG
03-08-2004, 09:55 PM
what power you got to get those moving?

ootranceformeroo
03-08-2004, 10:06 PM
Volk GT-7: 18 x 11 +11 Offset should be pretty close...

...but then again...18x11? You got PoWa?

He said that he hasn't done any engine work yet, so a stock KA will probably be pushing those big bling rollers. :eek3d:

there was once a time when i had fender flares on, but decided againts them before i cut the fender that i 1.)Wont have the money to rock bling bling wide wheels... 2.)Like to bash my car around... and 3.)How many wannabe blingbling newbes jump into 240s?

I say keep your tail lights.. If you gonna go with that Cwest front bumper that was designed for chuki lights, and you put Kouki tailights on it, it just looks confusing. That and if you paint your A-pillers or not. Hahah I guess im just a freak for themes, I.E. you put a redtop SR into a 89 and you put kouki tail lights and a chuki front bumper and paint your A-pillers to match the body color, it just all doesnt match to me.

HyperTek
03-08-2004, 10:44 PM
oh by the way, how are you molding in the rear fenders? I thought about riveting or using screws, then fiberglass over it then body filler?

Flybert
03-08-2004, 11:40 PM
Dude, just be prepared to spend $3000 with a 5 month wait on wheels to make this look good. Plus, if you're going to be spending that much money, might as well replace the C-West stuff with something cooler. BN SPORTS would be a good idea since it seems like you are going super hardcore.

This just looks like it's going to turn out to be a half finished project or one that is going to take a few years to finish. Don't be the topic of the next, "YOU SUNK MY BATTLESHIP PART2" thread. Just take your time and don't settle for something that you won't like. This could turn out good if you have the patience.

i really like the way it is right now~! looks goood..
i even like the hood. i think it kinda flows. rear is not my taste but what the hell... not my car.. and looks dope.. kinda.. :goyou:

The hood scoop reminded me of the FC3S scoop for the turbo. The wheels are off the chain. For some reason, the rear bumper seems flashy for my taste. Overall, it doesn't look bad, and I hope the project goes well. Don't give up on it. Cobalt Blue doesn't sound bad either. Good Luck

did you use duraglass then body filler to mold thoes panels?

brokenben
03-09-2004, 04:30 AM
I'm only doing it cuz' it's functional for cooling the motor and wider wheels.

um. no. with permission to flame :D
its obvious that it is not functional for you. wasting the money on fenders to fit wheels that you wont be able to turn is ridiculous.. unless of course... its a show car... then i guess it wud be functional ? anyways.. either way i still want to see the finished project.. i just think yer doing it out of order.

I'm molding with Kitty Hair fiberglass filler, if I use just pop rivets or screws - it will create stress cracks. I'm rethinking the rear bumper, but not the front and sides.

O yea, my A Pillars aren't painted. I ripped em off, I'm replacing them with carbon ones.

Brokenben, out of order? What order should I be doing it in then?

AAA240SX
03-09-2004, 02:11 PM
Ok everyone, I'm gunna sell the rear fenders and the rear bumper. I'll be getting the 20mm in the back to match the front instead of the monstrous 50mm's.

Which rear bumper should I get in place of the Bomex?

I was thinking the Cwest under spoilers to complete the kit, let me know all?

i think he means go for power before all this ridiculous stuff. i feel the same way, somethin about 130whp and 10" wide wheels just doesnt seem right. but its your car, whatever you like is cool. good luck with the project

I am in the middle of putting a wide body kit my self. I am copying the Charge Speed Silvia so I have the entire body kit. So far I have a shop mold my rear fenders and I put up the front fenders. Hopefully, in two weeks I will put the rest of the body kit plus hood and get it painted. Here are current pics.

why? it is from what everyone is saying? do what YOU want to do.. the last thing u need to do on this board is ask what to do..

so your going show first.. no big deal.. many people start this way.. do your project how you want to do it...

i dont mean to hijack but can anyone take a pic of the sideskirts on the car from underneath? Do they cover the bottom side of the rockerpanel at all and or do they reduce ground clearance?

matic 240SX: looks good, keep up the good work. it's nice to c some1 else who appreciates hard work...

thank for the support matic...

azn poopy: thatz mah bro's car, integra with s15 front end (ya i know)...

twitchy: I've included a side pick and under pic of my CWest skirts...They cover the rocker completely and don't really reduce ground clearance. Check out my first side picture in this same thread.
