Was wondering if there was any one out there that could help me out. Been battling with this car for the past while.

Car died on the road one day, lost all my power. Thought it was the alternator. Replaced it with a new alternator. No, I have not gotten the old one and the new one tested, but I will soon.

I actually installed two new alternators, the first one I got a battery light that came on and I just returned that alternator and got a new one. The new one, no battery light comes on but I'm still having issues.

When I first start the car, the voltage across the battery terminals will be 14.3 and steady. I'll turn on my lights, turn on the radio, and it'll hold not too bad. But after I let the car sit for another 5 or 10 minutes, the voltages begin to drop, and if I were to start driving or turning on the lights or radio, the voltage never recovers. I'll drive around the block and the reading will be down to 11.x or down in the 10s.

I've checked scrubbed and cleaned the negative terminal connectors to the battery and the ground. The battery tray is pretty rusty and I'm wondering if this may be a problem?

Anyone have some suggestions?

Go tests your alternator at auto zone.. Make sure they tests everything full working.. Alternator pump all the electro power for the car...
