I’m going to buy some KYB AGX shocks/struts for my ’98 240 SE. I’m trying to decide what springs to match with them. This is my daily driver that sometimes sees the drag strip, and next month is going to take a beating on the road-course for probably the only time this year (maybe a second time late in the year :x: ). But, 90% of the time, it is just my daily ride. What are the spring rates on these two sets of springs? Which do you recommend?
Eibach Pro-Kit Spring Set
Avg Low 1.2"F 1.0"R
H&R Sport Spring Set
Avg Low 1.4"F 1.3"R
If there is a set that you would recommend other than these, what are they? Eibach has a great reputation, and I’ve heard good things about the H&R’s. I’m riding on a very stock 240 right now. Stock wheels, z-rated rubber, stainless brake-lines (waiting on new calipers to arrive), and that’s it.
Lemme know.

Go to manufacturer website for spring rates
Try these too:
RS-R Race springs
1.5inch drop front, 5.5 kg/mm
1.0inch drop rear, .4.0 kg/mm rear
Don't quote me though, check rs-r.com

I couldn't find the spring rates on either manufacturer's website. Does anyone know?

check the archives/faq
i'd go with rsr race springs. people usually give them good reviews while i've heard a lot of complaints about eibach...either not low enough or not stiff enough. Also take into consideration more people buy eibach's so there are more people to comment on them. I had the pro-kit which is supposedly stiffer than the sportline but i though it was too soft. I also couldnt find spring rates on eibachs. I hate that about them. they left the most important part out. also one of the Zilvia member told me at a meet that the whitline springs are pretty good. They are a little softer than eibach but have a better balance my making the rear spring stiffer than the front, which helps the car turn in and reduces understeer. There was also an article about whiteline springs, you can find the article or link on the web at whiteline's website.

I really don't want a crazy hard spring. I'm probably looking in the 3/3 to 6/5 range. I think anything stiffer than that will be difficult to drive around on.
I live in the mountains of Arkansas, where the road companies are poor and can never fix potholes. Roads = teh suck.
6/5 is pretty stiff. that a little under what i run with KYB AGX... some times i wonder how people in corollas deal with 10/8 on the street.

I got sportlines and it's ok for me, in means of height, I didn't want to go too low or too high, spring rate I don't know but I got AGX's also and just adjust to what my needs are and it's all i need for now

i like my whiteline springs, good stance, and they are good for the shitty roads of pa.

well, i'm leaning toward the ProKits. A shop near me claims they can get a great price on them, so I'll double check tomorrow.
Hopefully I'll be straping 'em on this weekend.
