Okay so I bought an NRG QR, Hub, and Wheel. I put the quick release on the steering wheel and I over tightened one of the bolts on the wheel with the supplied allen wrench key. Anybody have any ideas who to remove it? If not I'm stuck with this wheel and QR forever. O:

take out all the other screws then spin the wheel around the stripped screw. it should free it up

Thanks for the tip. Will try this later in the morning. Hope to find better bolts that would just use a Phillips head since I may be swapping wheels soon.

Go high tensile screws/bolts from your local hardware store, most that come with steering wheels are crap.

Good luck.

Phillips would be worse.

Yes I can tell. Just an extra tug on them and they strip so easily. I just didn't think my wheel was tight enough on the quick release itself and end up messing it up. But I will try to find those bolts and hopefully everything it good.

I would have never thought of this.

But what if both screw were stuck in there.. How would he spin it? I would have drill it out..

torx head might bite it, left turn drill bit or an easy out. plenty of way to get it out

But the question was one, singular. Not two.

No shit.

vise grips/easy out. slot the top with a cut off wheel and use a flat head screw driver. weld a screw driver to it....

Phillips would be worse.

What this guy said.

You shouldn't be able to strip a good hex head with a standard allen wrench. If you take an impact gun to the screw, then you're bound to strip it...

It's an aluminum piece, you don't need gobs of torque on the screws. Two finger tightening rule and blue loctite.

looks like imma have to drill it. how dumb of me to get 2 of them stripped on the wheel. I switched over to the cap screws from home depot. never messing with aluminum again.

EDIT: Well I finally got it out. Easy Outs work and so does drilling it out.
