Quiet Exhaust

Yeh I searched... I'm deciding between the N1 Single, Hiper/HiPower, and Nur Spec R... how do these compare in loudness? Don't bother suggesting others either. S14 w/S13 SR20DET.

i really like the stock look of the HKS sports exhaust for s13 but it won't look like that on s14. I also remember someone posting minimal power gains with that exhaust (butt dyno probably). I would suspect on an sr, you would want a larger exhaust (80mm?)..

N1 is actually pretty quiet. I had the Nur Spec R and it was freaking loud.

A local guy has a S14 with a redtop SR and Apexi N1. I've had the pleasure of riding in it, and it's not really loud at all...

What about the GT Spec? I know it's huge but I'm wondering if it's any louder.

GT SPEC IS FAWKING HUGE!!! That ish made my Blitz look small. Id recommend it, I got a guy who has the same set up as you. S14 with S13SR, Not really loud, till u stomp on it. Mind you hes been driving this in Cali and havent had an issue. Id say Blitz too jes cuz thats what i have. The only thing is i dunno how muffled it would sound with my SR *still working on the swap* but it is loud on a NA. But then again, if u think its too loud, you got a silencer that comes with it. N1s silencers are optional.

Why don't you just keep the stock exhaust and spend your money on something else? if you have an electric cutout then there's gonna be no difference in performance/sound when is open, and when is closed you'll have an exhaust that is quiet, won't get you tickets and would make a great sleeper.

n1 is realiable and looks sexy on an s14...not that loud though and keep in mind when or IF u drop in an sr20 it will quit down alot more..prolly by half

Good point C. I would do that 100% but my stock exhaust is rusted through and has three holes in it heh.

in terms of loudness: nur spec r > n1 > hiper
run a silencer to make it nice and quiet.

tsunami is right, Hiper is the most quiet of the three you named. The NurSpec is loud as all hell.

N1 is in the middle but its too loud for my tastes.

Go with the Hiper.

I've got a Hiper on my s14, but i dont have an SR and it's quiet to me, i've rode in an S13 Sr with a GT Spec and it's loud as Fizuck! but personally i like the Hiper i'd go with that!

I know you said that you the three are what you wanted but the N1 dual is a nice mellow tone and and quiet at idle.

Back on topic:
I personally like the tone of the N1 single the Blitz is too loud for my taste and the Hiper I have never heard. My choice would be the N1

just but the N1 universal and have a shop do the 3" piping it would be cheaper than buying the cat back
