re lashing or re shimming whatever

,,picked up a used 2way nismo LSD and have put about 1000miles plus 3 drift events on it and feel like it needs to be reshimmed now due to the ring and pinion starting to clap alil..soooo
looked on courtesy and found like 25 different sizes ..
Can anyone point me in the right direction of what 8 or so to buy or ones that's close to what i may need ,,
also drive the shit out of my car how often will this need to be done ?..

I have never needed to reshim mine and have never heard of someone needing to reshim theirs after installing a lsd if it was shimmed right from the get go.

I have a tomei and I installed my shims the same as they came out with the old carrier as I have done with other tomeis.
I would think nismo would be able to get their lsd to as tight of a tolerance as tomei, the shimming is for the casing machining, the carrier has a tight spec on them and the casing is allowed to be off a little.

With that said I would take the easy way out and get a complete new diff (even open) and pull the outputs and carrier and keep the shims right and install the ring on your 2 way and throw it in with your outputs for the lsd.
Should be good to go forever, if that dont work something is probably up with the lsd carrier

unless you know how to cut shim stock i would not suggest re shimming your diff. unless you can measure backlash and gear pattern mesh but have no clue how to cut shim stock....but these practices go hand in hand. just get a new pumpkin as suggested because if you car hear the gears are misaligned they are probably chewed up and must be replaced as a set of pinion and ring gear.

who did the lsd install? sound like they either mixed up the shims or had no clue if the gears were aligned properly when re installing.

^ I was going to take the diff to a local differential and drive shaft shop and have it done professionally ..
but what im hearing is if done properly it should be good for a hot min ..?
that changes things..
