Sadly a lot of that isnt available out of the pump.. closest place I know around here to get smurf gas from the pump is in San Jose. :o

I believe the stations in the list below are probably the same as those listed above. I have a friend in Oakland that use to drive to San Jose just to pump race gas, but he used the links below to find something closer to him. I forgot what station he found, but I believe he said it was in or around Redwood City, which was a lot closer to him and also cheaper than the 76 station in San Jose. It was also from the pump and open 24/7.

There are a few companies you can literally rent the 55 gallon drum from and have it filled up for you with whatever you want. Delivery etc. If your comfortable storing the gas its a price break compared to the pump

In Riverside, there is a small little airport and they sell high octane gas. It's only like 8 miles away from my house :-)

this may sound stupid but......y not jus make your own gas?? cant u just buy some xylene(118) or toulene(117) and some premium(93) and make wut ever octane u want???

toulene... my brothers honda friends used to use that stuff all the time, but they were also running 11 secind quarters pretty regularly. he said it works great, as long as you get the mixtures right.

You can make your own gas, though I remember some people having trouble finding toulene or xylene in decent amounts for fair prices.

its a federal law to pump race gas into a car thats being driven unless its at the track. if it comes on a trailer or a gas can you can pump it into that. but you can't just pull up to the pump. its also illegal to drive a vehicle running race gas. good luck proving it though "well your honor when i pulled the gentleman over my eyes waterred and it smelled like he was burning race gas so I gave him a ticket for it"

I am too lazy to investigate the actual federal law, but I can't see how this is possible. I can see it applying to LEADED race gas, but not unleaded race gas. If you look at the following scan from Union 76 information, it states that the unleaded race gases are street legal and that the leaded race gases are for off road use only. This makes sense to me, otherwise we would not have all these stations in California selling race gas at the pumps.

Heck, we could call unleaded race gas just higher octane premium. Hell, here in California, we like to joke that other state's 92+ octane premium would be race gas in California.

its anything above 94 octane or something like that. not sure what the actual reasons are though and I may have been mistaken about it being a federal law, maybe it was just state.
