Registration Renewal TIME!
The great thing is I have NO EGR, O2 Sensors, or Real Cat.
I'm SCREWED!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know how the smog process works normally(OBD2)?
I know they check under your hood for the sticker, do a visual check and then put your car info into the machine, and then it gets sent to the DMV after the test. Can somebody explain this process with a bit more details?

You can fix that for around $100 and some labor on your part. If you still have all that stuff, you can do it for free. Shouldn't be too hard.

I do have all that stuff, but I'm trying to avoid returning back to stock, because of copious amounts of aftermarket and homemade goodies...

"You don't look like your average agriculturist."
"We grow copious amounts of ganja."
I had to quote it. The word "copious" always reminds me of it. I'm going to assume that you are KA turbo. Your better off going to one of those special smog shops so you don't have to do all the labor.

if you wanna go the "legit process" get off your lazy ass and put you car back to stock!!! There is no other way around it. You can not pass with out these emission control devices, without these your numbers are gunna be way off and you will just be wasting time going back in forth to the smog shop.

I'm interested on how it works, and what they do... I didn't say I was going to do it :D

It's actually this wand looking thing that interfaces with the OBDII unit. They just lay it on the passenger-side windshield. Essentially it checks to make sure you don't throw any codes (the check engine light really only throws codes for emissions bunk); they'll know if everything is operating as it should. Although, this is in Georgia...but I imagine it's pretty similar technology.
Maeda, you either need to move (I'm registering my car in Florida), or swap everything back to stock. I just wouldn't take the chance out in the smog nazi country called Cali...
Oh, one other thing...when I was talking to Russ, he mentioned that it takes a couple months of driving to make sure everything checks out. He found out the EGR doesn't trip if it's plugged in but unhooked (no pipe to exhaust), but it will trip as soon as the AC is turned on. All kinds of weird stuff like that.

Yah, its looking like I might be leaving the 240 scene... This car might be moved back to Hawaii... and I'll need a cheaper, not OBD2, car...

Might I suggest something from the late 60's? No emissions is neat.

Actually my dad volunteered the 7-AF Corrolla (moms car)...
FWD, 90 HP, automatic... awsome.
EDIT: I might register in oregon? anybody know how this works? or am I retarded for asking?

For my swap to Florida, I have to tell the insurance company I'm moving, get a Florida license, and then change the registration/tag. You'll need a valid address too, not sure if a PO Box would work.

That is such a nice idea...just switch out the dash and the vin panel in the engine bay..
