looking for a short shifter and i'm aware of two, OBX and B&M, noticed the OBX is about 100 bucks cheaper, but if my memory serves me correctly, OBX doesn't make the highest quality parts.........any comments from anyone on the two?
I have an obx and its cool. It made the shift a good ammount shorter. But if I could do it over again, I would have spent 300 instead of 75 and got the b&m just because I wanted my shift alot shorter.

I am also looking into the same thing. I got a price for the OBX for (I think) $70 sorry I left the paper that I wrote in on at work. I have talked to a lot of people and everyone says that they would rather get the B&M shifter so I guess that what I am going to go with. So does anyone out there have a good price for one?

B&M all the way. There's a reason they've been in the shifter business for so long

for ya'll that have short shifters. is it easy to get used to? or do u gotta work at it in order to shift right for a while from ur experinece?
It takes some getting used to. After I got mine I would always grind gears when shifting fast, especially from 2nd to 3rd which is my worst shift anyway. After a week you should be shifting faster and it will feel great.

I can probably get the OBX, real cheap. Would the obx be worthwhile touse in the meantime until I have enough extra cash to spend on a B&M?

Question - I heard that the B & M shifters rattled a lot. Anybody here experience that? how about experience with the Nismo short shifter???

The B&M doesn't rattle, it resonate a little bit. I think its because of the one-piece alumminum plate they use. If I'm not mistaken, the stock plate that mounts to the top of the tranny is iron I believe that is poured into a template. The fact that the stock plate is a poured metal or non-ferrous(don't quote me on that one) it doesn't make that noise.
And like Transient said, B&M has been around since our fathers and uncles were around pounding the ground with their 70's muscle cars. Thats gotta tell you something about the quality of these shifters.

Is there really that big of a diff between the OBX and B&M?? I've used a Pilot (which I heard is the same as the OBX) and the throw was pretty #### short!! Felt really solid too....
When you say resonate.. how loud? is it obnoxious?
