Yup, it's A "what the heck and see if it sells" ad time for the G20 that could....
We have been in the process of trying to complete another project race car since 2008 and selling this one could open up the time and funds needed to get going this winter on completing that! Thought process being that we have had our fun and then some with this car and it could be time for someone else to continue to exploit it for what it can do and set more records (maybe even breaking some of ours with a better driver if it stays somewhat local?)
Please PM me if seriously interested. I ask that people please don't post negative comments on this thread and thank you in advance.
This car has 12 current NASA track records along with the 2011 NASA Nationals track record and 1st place finish in TTF (so it is a proven well sorted track car at this point with this year's 1st place win by a margin of more than 17 seconds from the 2nd place car wiht 5 cars in class -- link to results here: http://www.team-nasa.com/team-nasa/ftp/Sunday/GroupJ%20%28PTB_C_D_E_F%29/GroupJ_ChampRace_Final.pdf ).
It ran only one official NASA regional weekend so far this year (MAM in August with you guys who saw it) and in that weekend received 2 new track records! (one for TTF and another for PTF) It has many more 1st place finishes and former track records as well. It has taken us since December 2007 when we first got it to get to this point so it has been an ongoing development that is as complete as we are going to take it for now (no need to improve when it is winning anyway, right?!) BUT the next owner could easily make some additional improvements and make it an E car instead of F car for NASA.

This year (2012) we decided to take the next step in its evolution and cage it along with the rest of the requirements to make it a full roadrace w2w car. Needless to say, a lot more money was invested into making it a proper w2w car. We decided that we wanted to keep it street legal so it is a bit more unique in that it has all the door panels and power windows along with cruise control functional so it can be driven to/from the track along with parked outside for storage (no missing door panels or windows allowing the elements inside). We also have room inside the car to transport at least 6 (can fit 8 if careful) wheels and tires to change to at the track!
The intent is to more seriously sell it after the NASA season is over (so after October) but if someone comes up with cash now, we will sell now before before end of season (obviously money talks!).
This car is legally titled and plated and insured and has gone as far as Chicago to Waterford Hills, MI for a track weekend. This means the buyer gets a signed valid Illinois title and not a bill of sale. I would have complete confidence in this car being able to be driven anywhere in the country if someone wanted to fly in and drive home for example. We are a 20 minute drive away from O'hare airport and happy to pick up a buyer or buyers. We will actually be street driving it to/from the NASA Autobahn event this weekend where it will run in PTF (hoping to break the current PTF record in the process) btw. Headlights, brake lights, directional signals and even the horn are all functional in case that wasn't obvious.
Sold AS-IS complete as listed below is $8900 USD Cash (NOT INTERESTED IN PARTING OUT SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK! and NO TRADES!!! )
- the car itself is a 1995 g20t from California (not used Chicago winters at all so no nasty midwest rust to deal with) with currently 219,xxx miles on the chassis expecting to see 220k miles after this weekend.
- The current engine is out of 98 200sx SER w/approximately 114,xxx miles now (spare engine available to go with car that needs rebuild out of a 99 g20)
- previous engine dynoed at 131whp and this engine shows a few more mph at peak comparing last year's traqmate data so we estimate this engine to be stronger at probably around 134whp. (still easily well within the limits of PTF)
- current weight with 180 pound driver and almost empty gas tank is 2740 and it has never failed tech scales (is usually over because of fuel)
- LSD transmission out of 95 g20t (replaced bearing August 2011)
- spare 95 g20 LSD transmission to go with the car
- SSAC exhaust, copper gasket w/custom 2.5" piping to 2 cherry bombs (just grassroots home-made stuff here)
- custom front power steering cooler
- solid aluminum front and rear motor mounts on p11 (99-02 g20) crossmember
- ABS removed w/Altima Master Brake Cyl and redone front brake lines eliminating the extra weight/lines from ABS along with goodridge SS lines at all 4 corners w/Super Blue brake fluid in the system
- cooling ducts installed where foglights were on front bumper cover
- rear decklid from non-t car so no more wing (wing costs points we didn't need)
- ARP longer Studs in front hubs
- P11 front brake carriers (same calipers) w/p11 rotors and Hawk DTC-60 race pads up front and HAWK HPS pads in the rear.
- Momo Competition steering wheel w/NRG 2.5 quick release hub
- Front Lower Control Arms have SuperPro bushings installed
- custom offset upper control arms w/delrin to provide some much needed negative camber which are regreasable to keep the water/rust factor out!
- AMR Coilover suspension refreshed fronts in July 2011
- horn relocated to momentary bluelight button on dash so horn functional
- battery relocated that would be behind passenger seat (if someone wanted to reinstall a passenger seat that is) properly fused/grounded in battery box for weight offset
- mechanical water temp, oil temp and oil pressure gauges
- digital voltmeter gauge
- cruise control still connected and working
- door panels still installed and power windows still working
- A/C completely removed along with all airbags completely removed
- interior gutted (no radio or speakers, no carpet or trim other than door panels still in place)
- no cat converter, no EGR, ABS bulb removed (so no idiot light for ABS lights up)
- CEL is on because of no Cat converter (no testing required for 95 and older cars here in Illinois so yes it is legally titled, plated and insured for street driving here)
- Cobra Evolution composite containment seat (This is an $1800+ seat new)
- Car will come with 1 pair of Rota 15x8 front wheels (ET 35) with Hoosier 225 45 15 Tires (other options available at additional cost)
- Cage built to NASA specs (have 2012 Nasa logbook) by RedMist Automotive in Gilbert, IL
- Camlock Gforce driver belt good until December 31 2016 (bought new this year)
- Window net new this year (as is the cutoff switch and required fire extinguisher and front tow hook)
We did lots of recent refreshes such as front hubs and wheel bearings, axles along with upper and lower control arm bushings and more in prep for Nationals this year. More details to anyone seriously interested.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Traqmate and camera mount seen in photos NOT included in sale! Sparco pillow also not included.
