Ok...recently I got the 97/98 headlight brackets spotted welded on my car by some body shop for what I think is a high price ($200)..but it was done in less than 4hours. Anyways...when I get my car back...I notice my grille (JDM) does not stay in place on one side. But this was well after I left the body shop (9miles away). So anyways..I'm puzzled and wondering what the fuck happen...then I realized they broke one of the clips that clip onto the headlight...and replace it with some odd ball one THAT LOOKS SIMLIAR(sp?)....but is NOT THE RIGHT SIZE!! I noticed this because the original one looks worn out, grey color and has enough gap to clip onto the headlight....while the other one is black and brand spanking new...I'm so upset right now..and I know the body shop will deny anything. :squint:

So now I notice that I can order these clips online..but the picture looks different from my grille. I just wanted to know if anyone can take off their USDM grille and take a pic of the back for me. This would help me out alot...so I can order the piece and have my grille fixed. If it doesn't match....DREMEL TIME.

I knew I should have turned back when I saw the guy take off the grille and look at it all funny. I even insisted that I take off my headlights and grille for them...but they were all like "no no..leave it like that..you don't need to work on it here". :blah: I'm so not taking my car over there....even if they did a good job on the welding I'm really pissed off they had to be shaddy like that and mess up a grille I paid $$$ for.......those fuckers. :fawk2:

Anywho...here are some pics to show you wassup...

hmmm....well....I had to hack my headlight brackets in order to fit the 97/98 headlights. When I say hack...I drilled holes big enough for the headlight nubs and bolts.

Have you read my write-up? http://members.aol.com/GTspecR/write_convr.html

I need to update it since I go this done. BTW...the only reason why I replace my headlight brackets with new ones is because I didn't like the slight unevenness I was getting...and its just easier to install (or fit) the headlights.

Welp..to be on topic (somewhat) I decided to just take a dremel to the grille and I made the grill fit...now its just a PITA to remove. :squintd:

nah, we posted at the same time. i was talking to the guy who thought it was only bolt-on for kouki conversion. which it can be if you buy the light brackets specified for the kouki correcT? iunno, never seemed to have the conversion problem ;) hehe, i keeeeed! i would've cried if anyone messed with my jspec kouki grill, ever. that piece of plastic is so freakin expensive.

Correct....and for the other post you have to mod the headlight wiring.

word, thanks for the info.

sorry to get off topic but it seems like this post has already been resolved, but do you have the nismo front spoiler for the kouki bumper or the kouki skirts? i can't find a good price on the spoiler :\ and i always wanted to see your car with the skirts to finish the conversion.

I have the skirts....but I only rocked them for about a month. Now they are sitting in my room until I can get some Kouki rear valances and JDM turn sigs. ;) The best price I've seen for the OEM (EURO or USDM) front lip is on this site: http://www.nissan-auto-parts-dealer.com

note: This front lip spoiler is on backorder.
