View Full Version : The Fall and Rise of Rossalyn. S13 Coupe Build.

Alright, I think it's time I finally post one of these as I'm getting pretty close to finishing. Anyway I'll start off by introducing myself, My name is Max, I'm 20 years old, and I live in Moreno Valley, ca. I work at A&A General Maintenance, it's a local business here and i drive all around Southern California.
This all started, early/mid 2007 when I met a local here, who had an s13 coupe with a silvia front end. At the moment I saw his car I immediately fell in love with it, I got home that day to start research, and to find zilvia. I promptly made an account here socal240sx or something like that, I ended up forgetting the password to it.
Anyway, I went thru countless build threads, and D.I.Y.'s, trying to learn as much as I could to prepare myself. I then proceeded to start saving up cash to buy a s13 coupe, being young, impatient and REALLY STUPID, I bought a heap of crap. Although at the time, I thought it was the coolest thing ever, that might also have been because it was my first car in the end I went thru about 9 cars prior to these final two.
So, I'll start off with the original "ROSSALYN". The coupe was a 1993 SE model automatic that I got from the 2nd owner, everything on it worked, even the hud. I bought it for 800 bucks! Only downside to it was that it had front end damage, but that didn't matter to me as I had plans for a silvia front end anyway. Here's a picture of my old hatch and new coupe together.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/76e07fe0.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/a16144c9.jpg
So the first night I got the coupe, me and my buddy decided to swap over the coils and 5 lug from the hatch. Took us a good long while, surprisingly my neighbors didn't come out and yell at us for banging all night (; ahaha. The hatch not being what i wanted it to be, became obsolete in my eyes, so I sold it.
The next day my coupe got a front make over, drove all the way to l.a. without knowing if the little coupe would make it. Well it made it, we put the front end there at Johnathon's (groundperformance) house, and he kept my old stuff. On the way back, I stopped and met up some guy selling some D-max tail lights, so I slapped those on right then and there too. A few weeks passed and I collected Bomex sideskirts, Veilside rear valance, R32 gts-t wing, some xxrs and an aero bumper!
The car stayed like that for a long month, then! the inevitable happened ): I crashed. Luckily someone on zilvia was selling a whole front end dirt cheap! So that next day I drove out to East L.A. and picked it up. I ended up cutting out the core support and having Mario @ Arrow Performance weld me in a new support. I bought some Z32 calipers to help me stop when I need to!, and I cleaned up my engine bay a bit. Decided to go ka-t, then broke some exhaust studs. So I was going to swap the head with a freshly rebuilt head, but I ended breaking a camshaft and decided to part out. Funny thing is I had just barely bought brand new coils ):.
That was it for me (so I thought), I decided I didn't want to waste anymore money, so I gave the car away to two now good friends of mine Matt and Thao, who have built it to be one sick ass coupe.

"That was it for me (so I thought)"
About a month after I gave away my car, my buddies ka-t blew, and asked me if I pretty much wanted his shell, it had jic coils, a blown ka, and some random cool things. I turned him down at first, but my love for the car was too great, so I took it off his hands, and Rossalyn came into my life. Here is what it started as when my buddy got it, pretty much the same as when I took it, but running. 1993 base model, originally jade green.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/ed166f4a.jpg
Then I got it, right away I did the 5 lug swap, Z32 calipers, and put my wheels on. At the time I didn't know the ka had lost compression, so i started trying to get the motor to start. Obviously it didn't so I ripped it out, and took the head off to get rebuilt. Bought a motor dirt cheap and started to rebuild it.

While I was doing that I sent the car off to get painted by one of my neighbors. I can't seem to find the in between pics of it being painted. Well anyway I got the car back and put my motor in. I tried starting it but, i guess i had timing wrong, so it would not start. My dad's mechanic took a look at it and got to start, I was super excited about that.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/cc0757d7.jpg

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/df452453.jpg
I put it together that same night, and took it out for a test drive. Which was annoying at first since I was rushing and didn't burp the radiator. So I stopped at the gas station and did, after that it ran great with no issues. During the time it was down I bought a vertex front bumper, bn style sides(actually unknown), charge speed rear bumper, a seibon cf hood, and some origin d1 side view mirrors. I sold my wheels for a pair of gram lights, and a pair of dai wheels and the specs were somewhere around 17x9 +12 (don't remember) and 18x10.5+22.

I sold the gram lights got xxrs for the front and slammed it some more. I went to formula drift with my friends and showed at the slammed society showcase. By far the best experience I've ever had, Thanks Matt, Thao, and everyone else that I met that weekend.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/6b9503d5.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/dc0d912d.jpg
On the way home from long beach, I ended up getting a flat halfway home. My buddy came thru with a spare for me to make it home.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/77bcf82a.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/c57ef120.jpg
Since I had the car in the garage, I decided to address a few issues I noticed on the way home. My car had been squealing due to the shitty belts, and also it overheated a bit due to a shitty autozone radiator cap. So I got all new belts, thermostat, water pump, wires, and did an oil change.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/5541f3db.jpg
On the way home from, formula d I got stuck on a few gas station driveways. SO! It was time for some kind of lsd, so VLSD it was.
*Funny story, I went to san diego thinking it was a cusco 1.5way. So excited that I was getting a good deal I didn't even bother to look inside. When I got home and went to swap the diffs from pumpkin to pumpkin I saw I had gotten ripped off. Right away I got a hold of the guy and we worked everything out smoothly.

Here you can see the open diff on the left and the vlsd on the right.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/1cedf636.jpg
After all that got situated, I went to a buddy's house and started helping with body work.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/44794b01.jpg
also got dmax tails. So, eventually I fell head first, and went silvia front end. As much as I like the pop up lights, my heart was with what I always wanted.
So it happened! Well slowly, I first started with getting rid of my pieced together kit, and purchasing some type x side skirts, and a pair of s13 Silvia valances.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/92e276b3.jpg
I sold my wheels, and bought Enkei Auto Couture wheels 18x9.5 +22, My specs with my set up are 18x9.5 -1 front with about -6 camber and 18x9.5 +17. I bought a pair of bricks I found on craigslist for dirt cheap. None of those hyped up fanboi prices. I also found an aero bumper missing one grill, and a few cracks but nothing irrepairable, for 200 dollars, which sure as hell beats these ridiculous 800+ prices we're seeing nowadays. I bought VIS 20mm front fenders and a VIS oem style cf hood, D-max corner lights, and D-max Front turn signals. I drove out to my friends house to go help with a few things and to get the rear camber dialed out. So I took some pics:
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/538143_380197392030565_656263078_n_zps9bb216fc.jpg

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/2c970b3b.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/f36a238c.jpg
So, on the way home I decided to hit a local spot, since my rear camber had been dialed out back to -1. Sad to say, I wasn't thinking trying to drift with my car literally an inch off the ground. I hit a dip and destroyed my cross member, along with my front sway bar and tension rod brackets. So I decided to put my car down again, and start a full build.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/d779d571.jpg
As I'm the type of guy who likes having cool shit and my car looking cool, I decided to handle the exterior first. Being unhappy with the passive aggressive look of my car I bought a s14 kouki wing and replaced my old crappy trunk with a spare I had laying around. I also bought a D-max rear roof wing, a D-max hood. Needless to say i was extremely happy with the way the car was looking, During this time I let a friend borrow my wheels (which he kinda beat up) so now they'll be drift spares, and I'll be buying new wheels soon.

I don't understand it. It's a black car. You couldn't take a little extra time to spray the new body panels black?
If you're not going to do it right, don't do it at all.

Yeah black is the way to go, atleast for me aha. If I do decide to change the color it will be the candy apple red thats on the hood and roof wing. I really wish I could paint it but, knowing me I want to wait till I'm completely done. So that way if I do change something I won't have to respray twice or twrice.
I'm not into that whole gutterslut look.
Feeling this build, looks good so far!
Thank you

its actually a zeta III and yes a bride brix for passenger
Looking good bro, the car looks like it has come a long way. Keep it up, bump!
Thank you for the kind words man, I'm doing everything i can to make it happen. No ones hands but mine have touched it since I first got it. Trying to keep it that way with the exception of all the welding/painting stuff. I'll be attempting to stitch weld the rear end of the chassis but thats for another update (;
Anyway thank you all for viewing my thread

So true sometimes you can find better prices on CG. About 2 years ago I bought Z32 calipers with hardware, pads, conversion lines, and drilled rotors for $200

Are those IS300 wheels up front? I thought they wouldn't fit our cars because those wheels' center bore is too small.

Good deal, and yeah the bore is too small, I was using spacers there to roll the car around.

Me either! I'm so excited I'm getting desperate to drive it.

Yeah I kind of regret doing the conversion but it had to be done. The valances I bought them locally, they are replicas, but the fitment is not to be doubted. GOOD QUALITY IS KEY.

(I'll be adding piece by piece.)
Anyway during the time that I was buying some of the exterior items, I also bought a bride zeta 3 with bride rails, a bride brix2 also with rails, a takata 6 point harness with gel pads, and a cusco cage with added door bars and harness bar. I got it black, painted silver and now deciding to powdercoat it back to its original cusco blue. Here's everything mocked up in the car, and a picture of where the seats and harness sit.

UPDATE!
Okay, on to the heart of this beast. After Formula D Long beach, I bought a sr motorset my friend had. He had spun 3 bearings, at the time I didn't know much about spun bearings. So as I learned I realized I made a mistake, the block was trash. Later I also found out the harness it came with was an ordinary ka24de harness so, I got very ripped off. Only good thing to this was that it came with Brian Crower 264/264 Cam Shafts, and Brian Crower springs and retainers. Only missing parts were the hot side which I didn't mind as I planned to buy a new turbo.
Picture of when I first got it.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/dd0d25ae.jpg
Soon after, I decided to tear it apart and see if the head itself was good to go, WHICH IT WAS :D, Next was to map out everything I'd need so I proceeded to make a list, which started, went, and kept on going. I figured I should go all out since I had time.

I kinda like the BOMEX one better with the rest of your aero...seems to flow better if the fitment is really good, but it's hard to tell on the shot of the rear.
yeah fitment is excellent just mocked up
can I know what front lip that is?

Okay, time for an update now that I'm free from my pinking aha. So this past Friday and Saturday was formula drift Irwindale! I'm happy to say that I attended along with half of Southern California. It was an awesome event, and I couldn't of expected more from the main event and the slammed society event. I mainly spent my time at the slammed society and booths. I got to meet Mad Mike while I was riding around on my skateboard and All I have to say about him is that he's as cool as his car is. Overall the event was a great time, especially with the fun, cool friends and people that were there.
I finally got to drive my old car even though all I did was angle out :P

Thanks man, you should go back to a coupe!
SMALL UPDATE:
Lately I've been getting the urge to drive my car so much more than usual, I guess it's due to the cold weather setting in. I decided I needed to start making more progress and start finishing unfinished work. So, I decided I'd to finish my wire tuck. At first I wanted to wait so I could extend the plugs to match up with the engine harness, but I figured I could do that with the engine harness. I then proceeded to finish up and this is what I ended up with. (center console isn't screwed down.)
ALSO you'll notice part of my cage is missing, I was thinking of painting (kind of started) but I'm choosing to have it powder coated instead along with a few other things.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/IMG_0662_zpsfb52a636.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/IMG_0660_zps0a258538.jpg
The plugs will meet the engine and lower harness on the cold side of the transmission tunnel. I'm thinking of buying a Mil-Spec Connector to make things a bit neater but that can wait. I also decided to paint my oil cooler with High-Temp Metal-Cast Anodized Paint. I thought long and hard about this, I originally wanted a HOT PINK/NEON PINK. Due to the lack of stock at the local places around here I choose Cusco blue. You can also see my one of a kind grill which is incomplete in the picture below, I'll post a complete picture tomorrow.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/IMG_0633_zpse30da8be.jpg
The other day, a package came for me from J-LAND! Inside was this unknown rear valance that really resembles a JDM s14 Rear bumper with valances. I'm not sure what brand it is, nor how much to ask for so its up for TW in the FS section.

aha, well I was parting it out, and I didn't think I would ever get back into it. So, I gave it away and in turn made two very good friends. I would seriously have been done by now, but probably a whole lot different. I like what it's turned into, much better than it would have before.

It's quite rare, it's ment for the s13 silvia valances. I'm going to end up switching to Type-X that will be customized to fit the coupe properly.

UPDATE:
This week I've been very busy, finally got some pieces I've been waiting for that finally got here. So with this whole Camryonbronze part out it's been getting hectic, trying to get money for this, that, this and that. Luckily, I'm a natural born money guru, and have been able to get the cash. Anyway, onto the things I've gotten so far. I bought Camryonbronze's Cusco Rear Cross Bar, I also bought a Cusco front bar, a Cusco Rear tri-bar, AND last but not least, I got my NVS Fabrication Modified Knuckles by D. Adams here on zilvia, hit him up for some custom stuff very legit good quality, not some jank. I'll be sending off my cage to get Powder Coated back to its original Cusco blue, along with the front Cusco bar. I bought my new exhaust, should be getting here sometime next week, along with my extended lcas with a custom helmjoint. Now on to the pictures!!!

UPDATE:
This week has so far good, parts arriving everyday. Working on car without problems, couldn't ask for more. I started the week with prepping my car to be torn down once again, this time to have the rear sub-frame torn apart. While it's out, I will be cleaning, reinforcing it with Street Signature Reinforcement Plates by Driven08, and painting/powdercoating it. I will also be installing PBM Solid Sub-frame Bushings, replacing all of the links with new links, and installing a 1.5way diff. Along with the new links I'll be installing Street Signature's Eccentric Lock Out Kit also by Driven08.

While the subframe was out I took advantage of the extra room under the car and swapped out my old ebrake cables for the z32 ebrake cables I had lying around. The brackets I have are from Street Signature by Driven08 aswell, very good quality lazer cut perfection. I coated mine with some flat black primer.

I just think it is stupid to make a car that low to follow a fanboi culture that even you shit talk in your own build. Thank you, and I appreciate the criticism. I'm not really a follower type, I'm more of a do my own thing kind of guy. I do see that my car is very low but it will be able to perform fine on the track, I may raise it a bit depending on my fitment with the new wheels and tires. I plan on running 235/245/35 front and 245/255/35 rear but that I'll have to wait and see. Street/daily wise I don't mind be this low since I drive slowly. But thanks man.

So this past week a few things arrived.
DIF Solid Steering Bushing
Energy Steering Rack Bushings
Energy Rear Poly Endlinks
PBM Solid Risers
Works Bell Splash Hub
Blitz *Discontinued* Shift Knob
Blitz Oil Cap
Personal Steering Wheel
DPI R.A.S.
PBM Inner Tie Rods Ver.2
So I installed the steering rack bushings, solid steering bushing, tie rods, and the sub frame with solid risers. Let me tell you guys, installing a rear sub frame by yourself sucks! Good thing I cleaned, degreased, and painted it. I was planning on installing my Tanabe rear sway bar but go figure it uses the stock s13 brackets which I got rid of awhileeee back So, that was a fail.

Thanks man, The Eccentric Lockout bolts are top notch man, slip right in no more slipping adjustments. I took some pics I'll post here in this update.
UPDATE:
Been a busy week lots of work not enough time, I'm berely getting around to installing the rear suspension but it's payed off and I'm finally glad to say I have all of my suspension components ordered. Everything should be arriving soon to have my car back on the ground. Next steps are tubs, paint, and finishing up my motor. So I got my PSM PRO rucas yesterday, and I decided to mount up my rear set up. I'm just waiting on my FA traction rods that should be arriving this friday or monday next week. I also installed the Eccentric Lock Out Kit By Driven08 and I gotta say these are huge refreshment to the old bolts and nuts. On top of them being new, they'lll save me some cash in alignments since they WILL NOT come out of spec once installed.

this would be about 10x cooler if the hood fit properly
The reason for the spaced out hood is because the mold vis used is a bit tall. So, without the spacers on the hood the front sinks below the fenders. Also it doesn't look bad IMO sooo staying like that. Will look better painted.
Im really digging the aggressiveness of this coupe.
Thank you, I want an aggressive street style coupe, and well this is what comes to mind.

dont get an evo 8... youll spend more money keeping it running, buying clutches, fixing transfer case, and buying a built transmission. before actually putting money into mods for fun.
just finish this car. youre almost done.

Thanks man, I'm still debating but I know of someone here on zilvia with one who offered to sell it to me but I'm in debate atm. Just want to get on with the rest of the build and DRIVE.
So I had a little time to work on my car, but I got a few things done, I installed my TAKATA 6 Point Harness, Started wiring in my stereo stuff, and I started working on my fronts wheels, got some camber out on my fronts. I've been wanting to do that so I can finish up the tubs, and prep it for paint... anyway I took some pictures so I'll share.

So my trailer fender came on saturday, so I finally got to continue the tubs. I had already cut out roughly what I was going to replace but want to finish trimming before cutting the rest. Anyway here are some few pics of when I was trimming them to wrap around the strut tower.
First I cut them in half, ones a tiny bit longer but doesnt matter I'll be trimming the excess off anyway.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0003_zps06b08120.jpg
Then I cut out some cardboard to get a rough line and I cut and grinded to where I'm at now.http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0006_zps22fbeb9c.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0012_zps27a2a800.jpg
I ended up cutting out more of the frame rail since I want them as high as possible.

Thanks guys.
So I've been trying to make my car more functional than before especially since I'm no longer going to be on any metal fenders and want to drive as hard as possible I need good clearance. That being said the 25mm front and 30mm rear fenders were WAY to small and had to go, especially with the bigger tires. So I opted out for some D-Max 40mm fronts and 50mm rears. Much bigger and exactly what I needed. Although the fitment on the fenders wasn't what I was expecting I made it work. I'll explain below.
Now before I post pics I need to mention that I sold my Aero bumper and my Origin D1 Mirrors, and picked up something a bit more rare and unique. It was a tough but quick decision. You'll also notice I removed the hood spacers and got the hood to fit properly.
The rear vents have got to be my favorite part of these fenders.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0022_zps08c50eaf.jpg
Here you can see how I had to make a seperate bracket to hold the headlights due to the D-Max brackets being to wide out and forcing it would make the bumper fit improperly.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0013_zps8387eaff.jpg

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0012_zps4716e1d7.jpg
and here you'll see my skirts end piece fitted perfectly, had to make a little bracket for this to fit good, also had to cut the fender a bit but no ones gonna see that.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0044_zpsd4ffd581.jpg
AND enough teasing heres the rest.

The front bumper is Kei Office and the mirrors are an unknown brand, was told by a friend who looked into them that they might be JUN mirrors but not sure. Also you can see I'm extending my lip about 1/8th on both sides to work with it but I'll post more about that later.
Heres the finished product of my custom grill, I didn't want to go with anything on the market cause it's all been done so many times, and I don't want to be the same.

Thanks guys,
So today I started finishing up my lip and kouki wing. I've never had any experience with fiberglass before this so I think this is alright for my first ever attempt. Yeah I could have paid someone to do it but one I rather do things myself so I can learn, and I wouldn't want to pay someone for something so simple. So what I did was wrap the lip around the bumper and masked off the ends made a mold then trimmed it to make the end pieces still not done but this is pretty much it.

As for the S14 Kouki Wing I didn't like the inner mounts flairing up like they did so I thought why not chop them off? The wing's not gonna fly off if it's still bolted and will look much better so I did.

Haha thanks guys, and thanks eric yeah I think they'll like this brief but GREAT update
okay so around the time I put my car down to "fix my issues" I bought a sr off a buddy of mine, which I had planned building up.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/2013-02-05-18-35-19_zps8fee0fcc.png
I opened up the block and saw that the bottom end was trash, so I did just that and trashed the bottom end. The head though had all kinds of good stuff so I kept it. Found a fresh block bored over .20, got some wiesco pistons and a fresh crankshaft. So I was set on building the engine. I had been gathering all of the missing ends to complete it but as time draws nearer to my "due" date, I won't be able to go ahead with that set plan. Instead I did something to help me finish alot faster..
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0027_zpsaaec855b.jpg
Yes I bought a running sr with slight mods: Tomei Pon Cams 256/256 , Apexi 1:1 Hg, Greddy oilpan, and a Tomei N1 Oil Block. Not much but as you can see I already bolted on most of my stuff. As a result of this I have some stuff forsale! http://zilvia.net/f/sale-items/503559-fs-ft-greddy-oil-pan-fs-brian-crower-weisco-almost-complete-sr-cheap.html
You can see I also have a s13.4 vc I had painted it wrinkle black then sprayed red over it but didn't turn out how I planned so Polished for now is what I'm going with.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0034_zps2ae53e53.jpg
So whats all thats left to finish this build you ask? ALOT, but what is left to get this running and semi done? Just have to go pick up my Power FC, Z32 trans, and Clutch that I've had on hold for a bit. Then just paint it. I'll be using a welded diff due to time constraints, but like i said this is only to get it semi done for the event. I should be done by the end of march so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks guys!
So today I pulled my lcas off the car and worked on them some more.
As you can see there was already material missing from them.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0001-1_zpse4a5d309.jpg
I used that to make the notch
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0002-1_zpsaef0a660.jpg
then cut out the fill in pieces from some sheet metal
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0003-1_zpsa68ac3dc.jpg
and also cut out the boxing in pieces
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0012_zps42fe6f46.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0011_zps52dabe7c.jpg
hopefully this week I can get everything welded up so I can start the pre alignment to ease it up for the tech. I also decided to go ahead and install the lines for my heater core on the sr, Previous owner had deleted his heater core, I will be using it.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0008_zpse6837b9a.jpg
Cut this off
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0003_zpsb19ba204.jpg
Add these
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0009_zpsdf05c6ed.jpg
and you get this
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0001_zpsd7d29cc6.jpghttp://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0002_zpsb4cf7229.jpg
after I was done with that I pushed the car out and rinsed it down, it was getting really dusty. Also sweeped the garage.

Haven't done much but a bigger update will be coming soon.
Test fitted the rear 50mm overs to see what kind of gap I would be dealing with and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I think I'm going to be using bolts to mount as the holes I had drilled aren't that far off and will be annoying using rivets due to the holes having to be slightly enlarged. You can also see the shitty driverside fitment (I'm not sure as why its not the same as the passenger side but its annoying trying to fix)

I don't but I can take some for you tomorrow when I'm out working on the car. Pretty ugly mess I made to be honest but it's pretty straight forward.
FORGOT to mention, diff went in today, and I'll be prepping the trans tunnel aka beating the shit out of it and also prepping the engine bay.
I've also decided that the tubs will have to wait till, later as funds and time aren't on my side. If someone wants to weld em in for a few beers and laughs let me know haha.

Okay, Finally time for a real update!
So, I finally quit being lazy and started to get to work on the issues with the car.
The Issues consist of;
1. Down-pipe not having enough clearance from the ground.
2. Small coolant leak from turbo line.
3. Oil leak from oil pan, Oil leak from drain plug.
4. Oil leak from oil cooler lines.
5. No tie rod boots.
6. Rear fitment is a bit too much with the loads of camber.
6. Last but not least I bent my lca on accident, so I'm replacing with a better cleaner set.
I've been looking for a PSM Cobra DP for awhile with no luck, luckily for me I have a good friend who's always looking out for me and told me he found a Circuit Sports DP ( the oval one ). He sent me the link and I checked it out. Out of curiosity I wanted to see if this could possibly be a MoonFace DP. So I looked up both the Circuit Sports and the MoonFace DP, and what do you know it turns out it's a MoonFace MF-Pro DP! Excited I went and bought it.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/08c7b81aba0a11e2b12422000a1f901a_7_zps5765b14a.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/08c7b81aba0a11e2b12422000a1f901a_7_zps5765b14a.jpg .html)
I confirmed it in person that it was a MoonFace DP by looking at the colorful burnt flanges.
When I went to install it I couldn't get the turbo flange past the steering column so steering rack had to be loosened and moved aside. After that I gotta say I LOVE this DP, easy install ( besides the bother of having to loosen the steering rack ) all the bolts were easy to reach no problem.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0926_zpsa4318f4e.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0926_zpsa4318f4e.jpg.html)
As you can see it sits slightly below the frame rails, which is unacceptable as I'd like maximum clearance. So, I'll be shortening and adding a flex sextion for extra peace of mind.
I bought a few parts to help with the issues and some just cause.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0875_zps94027588.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0875_zps94027588.jpg.html)

The leaks are pretty much the biggest issue in my eyes. It made me want to pull my motor and go over EVERYTHING, but seeing as I let my friend borrow my hoist who let someone else borrow it who doesn't want to come bring it back, that wasn't an option. I drained all my fluids, and pulled my oil pan off. I love sr's and I love their oil pans, so EASY to pull off. I looked inside to find a small amount of metal dust, which I'm not worried about. ( I'm guessing its from my valve cover when I ground some of the welds. ) I'll be pressure washing it and resealing it later on today. The drain bolt was leaking due to a bad crush washer, So I replaced it with a PSM magnetic oil drain bolt, it adds a nice touch to the GReddy oil pan.
The coolant line on the turbo was leaking aswell fortunately it was the exposed side and will be an easy fix.
I installed the tie rod boots I bought from Frsport, can't believe autozone charges 25 per boot LOLOLOL.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0927_zps8c9205f1.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0927_zps8c9205f1.jpg.html)
So first up of the unnecessary things was a gktech throttle wheel:
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0880_zps246d4139.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0880_zps246d4139.jpg.html)
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0879_zps3c9f3f62.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0879_zps3c9f3f62.jpg.html)
The install was pretty straight forward,
Locate oem throttle wheel, remove nut and washer careful not to strip it.

Pretty straight forward install.
The PSM swirl pot is what I think I was most excited about, as It was one of the last things I'll be installing in my engine bay.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0904_zpsd48daf8c.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0904_zpsd48daf8c.jpg.html)
first thing I did was switch out the PSM 1.1 bar cap for my Nissan 1.2 bar cap.
Right after I installed it on my core support realizing short after that it wasn't sitting as the highest point in my coolant system.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0924_zps1c5611a0.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0924_zps1c5611a0.jpg.html)
So I figured to start making my tubs something to make brackets on for my stuff.
started with this
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0906_zps6b78eeff.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0906_zps6b78eeff.jpg.html)
ended up with this
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0914_zps499ba142.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0914_zps499ba142.jpg.html)
then made it bolt on for the mean time pretty cool little addition I really like.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0935_zps9d92c78f.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0935_zps9d92c78f.jpg.html)
I made the other side already just haven't got any shots
So I mounted the swirl pot higher and my coolant reservoir (no pics of the it mounted together)
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0942_zpsa7d81814.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0942_zpsa7d81814.jpg.html)
I also got some more piping for my intake which I'll be cutting on the cut marks and having welded together also eliminating the coupler pictured.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0930_zps32b3d5ac.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0930_zps32b3d5ac.jpg.html)
Hopefully today I will be mounting tires on my new set of rear wheels.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0912_zpsbd762fe1.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0912_zpsbd762fe1.jpg.html)
Also gonna be installing these z32 calipers since one of my rears stripped out ):
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/KoolGuy306/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0910_zps091472a6.jpg (http://s17.photobucket.com/user/KoolGuy306/media/S13%20Coupe%20Build/IMG_0910_zps091472a6.jpg.html)
and also the CS endlinks I ordered.
I'll update when I get the rest of my stuff in the mail.

I really like the car. Im not one that is into the looks aspect and more on the performance end but I think I may need to buy some new body parts....im getting jealous since my car is kinda ugly....lol.
I did know about the "wrinkle" paint job on the valve cover before either...guess im kinda out of it...but after looking it up I love it. I have to paint mine anyway, since im getting the s13.4 job done today, so it was a great to find this thread and see that. :)
