SOOOO
I recently bought a sil80, car was running great the first 3 days. All of a sudden I break down due to electrical...
Alternator wasn't charging my battery so I was running the car off of full battery power. Electronics were working at the time; clock, break lights, radio, turn signals etc.
NOW that I placed a brand new alternator
The battery seems to be charging but kinda at a weird rate.
plus ALL ELECTRONICS WENT OUT! the same ones i listed before.
I checked all the fuses they are all fine no sign of any wear.
At this point I'm pretty frustrated lol, I can't seem to find what the problem is, any help?
Any suggestions?

check the harness under the driver fender.

Harness is fine, just checked. Do you think it could be because it has a silvia front and 180sx tails? along with an aftermarket pioneer single din radio? Is this too much power for the stock alt. to be putting out? and is that why the battery isn't really charging at the normal rate one would charge at?

You check all the wiring on the tail and headlights, try unplugging the bulbs and trying the other electrical, make sure you hooked everything up correctly and the grounds are clean or sanded down from anything getting in the way!

Make sure all the connectors for the alternator are connected. Check for grounds

Pull a vom then read the battery and write down the output. Start the car and do the same thing then compare outputs from engine off and on

Take a DMM and voltage drop the battery when the alt is running. Should be around 14.6v. If it is, turn on your headlights, a/c, radio, etc (turn on every accessory you can), them come to the front again and check to make sure your Alt is still producing ~13-14v. If it is then most likely your alternator is good and problem lies else where in the circuit. Contact me if you'd like specific instructions or diagrams and such. I've had a similar problem.
