I'm gonna make this thread for us bigger people to chime in and share your bucket seat set ups, Rail set up. Anything that involves you being 6 feet plus and not super slim around the waist! weather it be fatty fat fat or buff muscles!

What seat setup do you have in your S chassis or any car for that matter!?

Do you like to sit high in the sky? or low to the floor?

You like barley fitting in the car with your helmet?

I don't care of your seat is bolted through your damn chassis lets hear about it!

Do you like sitting nice and low and snug for great car control and comfort?

Let's see this happen! Big people unite!

How the hell did you fit into a Buddy Club seat? They're like Bride Seat sized. I'm 215lb and I can't comfortably fit into one.

In any case. Nagisa Auto rails, Recaro Pole Position (barely squeezes into the rails) fits me completely comfortably. 6ft, 215lb. 36in waist.

i also have a Buddy Club wide/Nagisa Rail Combo. Im 6'5 270 with a 38 waist. The bottom half of me fits juuuuust right in the bottom half of the seat. Its a bit snug. Top half is another story. Maybe its my build, but its very tight on the ribcage, and my shoulders rest on TOP of the wings on the side of the seat. Im slouched foward, and cant put my back flat against the seat.

Basically i wouldnt recommend the seat if you are a tall guy with a wide torso.

Nagisa rails: they are nice rails, but the buddy club wide is a bit TOO wide for the rails. It took me a solid 2-3hrs to get the seat and rails to fit in my car (S14) and line up. The specs for the rails call for a MAXIMUM seat width of 400mm. The buddy clubs are 415mm. They will fit if you loosen the bolts that mount to the seat and the bolts that mount to the chassis and kind of push the rails inwards while tightening the chassis bolts. Pain in the ass. And to make things more complicated the seat is angled a bit to the right, and its off center a bit, and i have reached maximum adjustabillity for the side mounts (the mounts themselves hit the trans tunnel side and wont adjust anymore). To make things easier i would use another rail, or custom mounts. It also interferes with the gas/trunk handle. I played with my rails enough so that i kind of wore a chunk out of the handle, so it moves freely.

Besides that, the seat is pretty comfy if your body type allows it lol.

That said, Im going to be getting a sparco EVO3 and custom mounting it in a few months. Need a bigger seat that actually FITS me and leaves a bit of room.

Not tall at 5'9" 250lbs but i'm not slim lol. I have a Corbeau FX1 with Nagisa Auto rails with the bucket touching the floor. In a coupe with a power sunroof.

LOL EVERYBODY HAS NAGISA RAILS.

Not really. Max width for a seat is 400mm on their site. Anything more will require some "finesse" to squeeze the seat onto the rails, or modification of the rails themselves.

Bride and Nagisa rails don't go that wide. Buddyclub rails go the widest. Only problem with with going really wide is the seat sits higher since it needs to be wider than the rails.

Buddy Club, Sparco, Recaro, and Corbeau make wide seats I think.

If I had to use a wide seat, I would probably just make my own rails so the seat would sit lower.

Well my weight is dropping pretty fast so I'll probably pick up the standard corbeau forza seat or the fx1 so hopefully I'll be able to use the nagisa rails!

I've always just rocked s14 seats or s15 seats, I only had bucket seats once and that was in my Fc they were sparco, some small as sparcos with wedge brackets and i actually sat nicely but then again I was 240 lbs with 38-36 inch waist

Bowflex makes a seat you should check out.

J/K. I'm 6'1", 185, 34" waist. I'm running a Buddy Club wide on Bride rails. I modified the fuck out of the rails, and squeezed that seat in there. Works great, and I have plenty of hip wiggle room in the bottom end of the seat.

I haven't seen a big dude measurement yet. Get yourself a nice 48" waist and then we can talk. My wife has spent the last 6 years ensuring that my wiast stays too large to be attractive to the opposite sex. And I haven't had a seat SINCE I've been married. Back in the day (like early 2000's), I had a Sparco seat in my Z. I'll try to find a picture of it cuz I'm sure it's scattered around my hard drive at home. It came with the car though. I was probably a 36-38 back then and it wasn't uncomfortable. The Z was my daily before kids and sh1t. It sat a bit high with my helmet. Not Top Gun Goose dies high, but if I turned my head and looked out of my window, the top of my helmet felt like it was rubbing on the headliner. Made drifting on a track a bit awkward. lol

I think some people in this thread don't understand how a proper fitting racing seat should feel. 42 inch waist, 320lb in a Buddy Club seat? 40 inch waist and you fit comfortably into an SPG? gtfo, there's no way you fit correctly into that seat. Is your body extremely long but only 14 inches wide or something? My friend weighs about 140lb and an SPG fit's him properly, as in snug but not tight, all the bolsters in the right place, harness holes in the proper locations, ect. I can fit into it but it's not at all properly sized for me. This is why I bought a Memory Fab S68 when they were offering them after everyone claimed that it fits 38 inch waists. I had a 36 so I bought one figuring I'd fit perfectly, only to find I couldn't fit comfortably if I had as much as a thick hoodie on.

I agree, we need pics. I can't imagine how some of you guys are fitting into these seats.

what are your shoulders ?

http://www.atailoredsuit.com/images/pictures/dress_shirt_shoulder_measurement.jpg

and if your shoulders aren't fitting... then are your 5'11 all torso ?

Also the seat padding is different from seat to seat, did you even bother putting your non-butter-sweating-butt in one before you bought it ? I used to have that same seat and my shoulders weren't the problem. But then again I took out the padding so I could sit in it. The pics I see from the knock off sparco speeds have a lot of padding in the wrong places, are you sure you didn't buy one of those ?

Also you might want to look into a sparco fighter instead.

Thanks for this thread. I'm 5"11 250 and my stock s14 seats are okay, but I'm sliding a bit because the sides aren't planting me back properly if that makes sense? Trying to find a semi-inexpensive option (since I dropped most of what I have on the S14 itself nearly three days ago.) Is it completely idiotic to look into some of the "ebay specials" or should I just save the coin & go Sparco or Corbeau down the line?

Im running a RECARO SPG-N on buddy club rails, its easily more comfy than my zeta 2 and is verry BIG BOOTY friendly!!

its actually wider and taller at the shoulders and at top for taller people!

and it sits verry low thanks to the budy club rails. i just had to mess with the L and 7 brackets to get everything to line right up. ill post pics after a quick vacuum.

i know its not sold in the states tho! so idk if its a pain to find,i got it in a trade and comes with a VERRY GLITTERY back so thats a +

To be honest i bought it out of impulse I liked the fighter but I couldn't afford it at the time. I never mounted the speed im still trying to sell it.

I sat in a zeta3 XL last week. they're big. it's loose on a 34 (biggest dude there at the time, 200lbs maybe 5'10 or so). i'd say it's for 36+. I think it would be comfy on a 36 and might start to feel tight around 38. I wouldn't recommend it for 34 unless you're not racing and just want to be comfy with easy in/out. it fits the dudes that I know that are 6'+ 250+lbs

No one here is actually big ? I am around 5'11 and more or less around 400 pounds and seats became actually a problem when i had the terrible idea to "upgrade" my worn s14a seats with some almost new s15 ones.Short drives are perfectly fine but long trips became very uncorfotable....I have the same problem on my s15......From the one hand s15 seats look very nice if they are in good condition but they simply are not as comfortable as s14 ones ...I looked for an altenative but except some super expensive Recaro expert L or Orthoped seats everything else is basically too small ...
