So...
How often do you guys get pulled over by the cops?:cops:
Especially those of you that live around Southern Cali
I have a Stock looking s13 with a Sr, Never get pulled over. Will installing a body kit increase the chances of getting pulled over and getting my hood popped open?

I would say yes. The purpose of that stuff is to get more attention to yourself, even from unwanted sources such as cops and thieves. Cops tend to stereotype body kits and big-loud shinny mufflers with racer boys in this state.
I have a white S14 zenki on work wheels and oem lip with a very silent 3" exhaust (rs*r Exmag with added resonator and 3" cat) and I never get any attention from the cops even when I drive past them. It also depends on how you drive.

I used to get pulled over in my Z33 every so often, prolly 5 times in 5 years.. So far only once in my S14 out of the past 4 years. And no ticket.. And yeah I had 2 sports cars at one time..

But I rarely receive any citations... and yes flashy cars get you attention, both good and bad..

I got pulled over in my old coupe that was dropped with a Silvia conversion. I was going 85 in a 65 but thats besides the point. Got told to pop my hood so he could look at my stock ass KA. Then he dropped down flat on the ground to check if I had a catalytic converter. Lol

I'm by San Diego.
The first night I got my stock KA24E hatch, I got pulled over. His reasoning was fair, my third brake light was out as well as speeding 5mph over. I showed him my broken speedometer and he let me go.
It doesn't help that I don't have a front bumper either with a cracked windshield. Really, just try to make your 240sx look like every other car. Get all your legal stuff out like front license plate and non-Folgers can exhaust and you should be golden.
All my friends who drive SR's tell me to get one too, but I'm sketched out about cops

I enjoy driving in the Twin Cites for the most part, most the troopers on the highway don't care to much about your car, as long as your not being stupid. Rolled down 35 for at least a half mile right along side one, he didn't care about anything on the car. Although I can't say the same for the cops in the suburbs, also depends on what time of day your driving around at, much more likely to be pulled over at night.

If your exterior/exhaust screams out pull me over, you increase your chances significantly no matter where you are. If you wanted to, you can casually drive any engine swap with all emissions and/or a proper exhaust and not get pulled over (assuming it's a legally registered vehicle).
Be obnoxious, get treated like you are.

Twice in 5 years, both in a period of 3 months because of a modified exhaust (2.5 catback on a stock KA with a test pipe), I've had 3 S13's and all of them pretty low with tires tuckin' like most of the members say, if you obey all of the traffic laws you don't have anything to worry about. I do drive a lot too, I live in the Los Angeles area and head up to Sacramento probably once every other month to visit my family.

I live in a tiny town in FL where the cops are pretty chill, but bored...
Went to go get gas at about midnight. Cop pulls me over as I'm turning into the station.
Cop: *walks up to my window, looks at me, looks at the car and back to me* Ummmmm... everything about this car is illegal.
Me: sorry? Just getting gas and then heading back to the shop.
Cop: Don't let me see you driving this thing again. Oh, and that's a beautiful piece of machinery.

Even painted with all the body panels on, I've been pulled over twice in the last few months. Both times a cop floored it to catch up to me (I was doing the limit), hung out on my ass for a few miles, then pulled me over. The reason? License plate light out. I finally fixed it, but I'm sure they'll find a new reason to pull me over soon.

This is a dumbass statement. It does not take into account any profiling by police, which of course happens everyday - regardless if you drive a modified 240, EVO, Z33, etc.

if your car is loud and looks janky, IE rattle can, zipties, herra stickers, ect.
Your chances of getting pulled over will be high.
I drove my cleanly "modded" TT z32 with open cut outs, for over 2 years and was only pulled over once do to having 5% tint.
Other then that I was never looked at .
my s13 is pretty much stock looking so that never gets looks either

only been pulled over once so far because of my exhaust but the cop didnt give me a ticket since i was joking around with him aha just be cool with the cop and he shouldn't give you a hassle

It depends on what city in particular. I live in southern California, Santa Ana to be exact. All they look for is gangster looking people because gang crime is a big one in Santa Ana, so modified cars are not the main priority in my city. In cities like Irvine, gangs or crime are not so abundant so modified cars get hassled more.

I live in upstate NY and it really depends. I've been pulled over for stupid reasons and not been pulled over when I really expected to be. I don't drive like an idiot. And I never really rev my car up. With my Ka-T hatch with a straight exhaust I never got a ticket for exhaust. It looked like a normal muffler and wasnt shiny. I have an SC300 now and I got a tint ticket a few weeks ago. I was at a stop light at night and a cop pulled over and waited for me to make my turn. My windows were down and he made me put my windows up to check them.

Pssssht. 7 is my unlucky number.
Pulled over 7 times in two weeks.
License suspended 7 times in one year.
I have 7 tickets on my coffee table that need paid or a court appearance.
Surprisingly I have only been stopped for speeding once in the last 4 years. I should have gone to jail for that too. 143mph in a 65 in NJ. I was counting the cash in my wallet for bail money. Cop said he was chasing me for about 3 miles. He gave me an unsafe lane change.
Only cool cop I've encountered that I don't know personally. All the other ones can trick a D.
I never got stopped in my S14. M3 gets me pulled over ALL the time, guns drawn.

Had the car for over 3 years, never been pulled over in it somehow. Been followed multiple times, nothing. Had to drive with bumper off a couple times, passed by cops, nothing.
Only been pulled over once speeding in a neighborhood in parents pathfinder. I had the same name as the cops dad, let me go.
I guess cops in my area are pretty cool, or they just like red S14's.

Even though i drive normal and my car does look stock, i have to say that Cops can be
dicks for a small or no reason
A couple days ago i was driving at night to pick up my girl from work around 10:30 ..And just my luck, the car in front of me was a Cop car. I don't think he appreciated my HID's because as soon as i got closer to his slow ass, he SLAMMED his brakes right in front of me. Then he decided to do a illegal U turn in the middle of the street and speed the other way.
And just Yesterday on the way home from work, another Cop tailgated my ass for the longest time, even switching lanes with me.
Still haven't gotten pulled over though. *knocks on wood

The cat is a modified 3" magnaflow. The resonator is a 3" straight through Dynomax I believe which i welded before the main RSR muffler. I have a turbo KA-T so that helps keep the sound tamed. At freeway speeds Im dead silent, my exhaust doesn't even drone, I can hear my wheels more. At WOT it does open up but its still not loud by any means. Rasp free baby!

I haven't really had any issues until recently. VA is known for giving out tint and front plate tickets. I got pulled over on Saturday, on the interstate, at 7am on my way to work, going exactly the speed limit for no front plate, illegal tint (its 30%...not 5% or something crazy), and 'defective equipment' for my fender being too close to my tire. Hopefully I can get them all thrown out as I haven't had a ticket since I drove around my KA-T with a 3" straight pipe. I already pealed the tint and zip tied my front plate on, so hopefully that will do the trick.

5% tint all around, body kit , spoiler, loud exhaust, sparks everywhere from ride height, shinny wheels, gotten fallowed plenty of times. 3 times so far with my current s13 Im driving perfectly fine; they run my tags probably see that I have a good driving record. They leave.
But in reality the car is under my fathers name not by choice. I have a pretty bad driving record because of my stupid adolescent brain (at the time) lol. Managed to score 15 tickets from the age of 17-19, license suspended once ,and wrecked a kouki :( , no insurance at the time so I'm still paying month by month a pretty ridiculous amount of money. But I have to or my license goes back to a suspended status ;state law.

Dad bitching about what an Idiot I am while we pulled it apart good timing lol
I would also agree that race has a big issue and profiling on the officers end of course. I am mexican, I look mexican, I do not have the accent but I am fluent in spanish. I get a ticket almost every time I get pulled over usually going from 5-10 miles over. I minus well have been really speeding because I know plenty of certain people that get away with worse.
I've also somehow have gotten multiple instances when officers ask to look through my car. I been pulled over for " having a loose license plate which was loose but not enough to come off.
If it wasn't for my jefe I'd be paying 1100 in liability every 6 months for my s13 .
Managed to drive this for 2 years then sold it. I am now 3 years without a ticket; since I drive like a grandmother to avoid paying more to the state!
Everything has came out of my pocket; i thank god for the jobs I've had and have.

I am currently awaiting my court date in the mail but I plead not guilty. I will most definitely be talking to a DA about it. His probable cause was because I didn't have my front plate mounted because I don't have a place to mount currently. The old holes are stripped. The plate is behind my seat and I showed it to him. After I showed him the plate he told me to put my widows up to check my tint. I just bought the cat 2 months ago and the tint was already on it. He didn't accept that as enough reason to not ticket me.

i think the consensus of this thread is that it just depends on too many damn factors
i for one live in a smaller mostly-mormon town about 45 min outside of Phoenix, and you wouldnt believe the countless bullshit reasons that ive been pulled over for.. the most recent: cop didnt like my dmax tail lights on my coupe. He didnt give me any sort of ticket for them (i dont think he could), but nevertheless he didnt like them and just wanted to let me know.
by the way my coupe is moderately low, hks muffler, silvia front, sunken 5zigen wheels, but other than that completely stock from the outside.
i hate the cops around here

it depends on the area.
Burbank, you're done.
LA, they dont give a shit.
Keep your front plate on the bumper and run no tint, and no shitty loud exhaust or huge window stickers.
You do that and you will be fine.
I would bet this is about 1/3 of what i have now days

In Wyoming, we have no emissions laws whatsoever, diesel guys literally smoke out intersections all the time, once I've seen an accident afterwards cuz noone could see it across the intersection.
For 2 weeks straight I drove with NO hood when i was getting it clear coated, (blatantly showing my SR20DET), with NO front bumper showing my huge fmic and NO front turn signals, NO front lisence plate, NO rear bumper just a bash bar with my lisence plate zip tied to it, and straight piped and super low scraping pavement.... NEVER been pulled over for it =) I love driving down to Colorado for drift events where they do have emissions in some countys and the cops can't do anything about it when they see my Wyoming plates!

Can verify this, was driving in Wyoming before I could drive, in bare feet, and no permit. Cops drove right past me, and I looked about 12 at the time... They really didn't seem to care, mind you this was a while ago. But I was driving a green Dakota at the time.

Gonna have to call BS. I've been driving around with full 3" piping and canister muffler for almost 3 years with both KA (loud) and then RB, and not once did cops even mention my exhaust out of all the times I've been pulled over.

It's been 4 years since the last time I was pulled over, and I've driven some pretty large cop targets i.e. bright red f-bodys, mustangs, corvettes, old chevelles, etc. Missouri cops seem to be pretty chill about modified cars, and as long as you actually have A muffler, they won't normally say anything about your exhaust. The only instance that I have heard about lately where somebody was even talked to about their mods was a few months ago when a local kid got pulled over for speeding but didn't get clocked. All they did was say slow down and give him a warning for the loud "not stock" exhaust on his honda.
Basically you can drive whatever around here, but on the other hand, if they catch you street racing, they will bust your ass.

So to conclude OP, homie cops will pull you over op so watch your back. It doesn't help if you live in Arkansas like me as a minority with a car that attracts police's attention. Just saying.
hello outlander!
but lol at cops from Arkansas being bad (unless it's certain parts of North Little Rock and some of the more rural police can be dickheads sometimes).
Also, I'm white so I might not get what you're talking about. Its just that your car is nice, and the only reason I'd see you getting negative attention would be from driving reckless in an attention grabbing car. California, however, I'd see it being a legit statistically accurate catalyst of a thing.
but at the end of the day, id say the jank cars are police attention grabbers more than racial profiling.

I can't speak for all cops, only myself. I work in Philly which is pretty much on the way to becoming a new Detroit. I don't stop anything because it "looks" illegal. Only things I stop are actual infractions in the PA MVC. I don't give tickets either unless you are an asshole or you do something completely stupid.
I will say this, I run almost every S13 and other enjoyable cars to make sure they aren't in stolen status and to get familiar with what belongs where in the neighborhood in case things do get stolen.
On a side note, I love the look of shock and stupidity on S13 owners faces when I start asking about their engine swaps. I guess cops can't have hobbies, lol.
I did however get stopped numerous times in my old red s13 hatch, only got tickets once for doing 101 in a 45 on I-95. My black hatch with CA18, 3" J-pipe back into a RS*R Invidia and loud as fuck BOV has only gotten me attention for expired stickers when I first bought it.

I've been pulled over 11 times in the ten years I have been driving. Three times I got tickets, all for speeding and all 14+ MPH over the speed limit, reduced to 5 MPH over. The other times were for random things like aftermarket tail lights, license plate bulb, and noisy exhaust. Most of the times I have been pulled over were in my 94 Camry winter beater- go figure, lol.
I've only been pulled in the 240 once, on the way home from Broadfield's BBQ last year. He said my exhaust was too loud, but I didn't live in Illinois so he gave me a warning. Had me sit in his car with him while he wrote the warning and BS with him, which was really weird.

I've been pulled over and written a ticket for aftermarket exhaust in Coral Springs, Galt Ocean Mile, Boca Raton, and Lighthouse Point.
According to Florida law, it is illegal to replace ANY part of your exhaust system with a non OEM piece, even a muffler tip.

I live insouthern Nevada. My car is pretty stock looking with just wheels, pretty low, and his exhaust. I drive like a grandma. I used to live in hendsrson which is a nice suburb area. I got pulled over a couple times in one year all for bs reasons but no tickets. The cops are Nazis. They always turn around and follow me. It literally gives me anxiety to drive in this area.
Now I lived in Vegas for over 2 years. Been pulled over twice. Once for a burnt out headlight, and obscene for running a stop sign in a neighborhood. Only been followed twice. Guess it just matters what area you live in. Not driving around like an idiot in a pos car also helps.

The down fall to owning an mkiv is every cop just focuses on you every time you drive by.. Ive actually gotten used to going the exact speed limit maybe 5-10 miles over max. And when ever im trying to cruise past an officer i try to just hold that perfect RPM where the car quiets down a bit.
How ever my s13.. well im actually scare to drive that on public roads. California sucks, and i built my car specifically for drift. Its not finished but i do sometimes drive it around the block to do little bits of adjusting/tuning etc. Luckly i live on private roads so ive passed officers sometimes on these roads but they cant pull you over unless someone calls the on you. But soon as i pass that boundary line and onto public roads .. im not sure what can happen. Ive owned this car for 4 years and its only been on public roads twice.. ive only driven it maybe 100 miles out of those 4 years 1. because of the slow build. and 2. because i dont want y car impounded for illegal modifications or a huge fix it ticket. So its not something im looking for. How ever ill have to over come that fear because i cant expect to just let it sit in my drive way for ever. I need to get it out there and actually find a place to practice drifting for the first time !

I live in a nice part of los angeles, and when i had my first sr s13 black lowered, i got pulled over once fer speeding and a second time for accelerating too fast onto a freeway, never had a hood pop during those times, i once voluntarily popped my hood to ask duo of 2 chp guys what would be illegal under the hood of "the car i just bought" one asked why i had two cold air intake pipes, the other one told me to paint my intercooler piping black, or make it look as stock as possible.
then with my second s13 I had powder coated candy tangerine wheels on a misty blue colored car, and never got pulled over in that.
I honestly feel if you look like your suspicious the police will give you a hard time, so if you hanging out with a bunch of street racers doing questionable things then you have to worry, other than that i wouldnt really worry about it. just make sure all your tail lights are working, and dont give them a reason to pull you over.
also i saw someone posted that they don't have a license and they drive / drift on the street daily, hopefully your an adult, and have enough money to get that thing out of impound after they give you a thirty day hold, if not, i will prolly buy your car at the OPG auction in 41 days from when it gets impounded :o)
If you do get pulled over for speeding hopefully the cop will cite you for cvc 22350, read this (http://www.helpigotaticket.com/speed/30questions.html) and go to court.
As long as you don't act like a typical punk kid cool guy doing stupid shit with your car you will not get bothered. Drive "NORMAL" like every other driver and cops will let you pass on by. Its the people with multi-colored, stupid loud cars trying to stunt everywhere they go with their sticker bombed cars acting cool that get pulled over.
The last time I got pulled over with my S14 SR (2years ago) it was because I wanted to open it up on a on ramp at 3am. Just my luck there was a CHP (california highway patrol) that was on the freeway I was merging onto and saw me get on it. I got some shit for it, but I stayed calm and cool, was polite and respectful to the first officer. The second officer came up to me and was like "look don't bullshit me, what do you got?" I paused, and before I could answer he asked "is it a SR?" I replied "yes, sir" and he went off lecturing me how he could impound it and so on. First officer comes back, tells me sorry my partner is being a dick, and told me to slow down and drive safe.
Keep in mind my car has a full TI-exhaust, kitted, rims, etc and they never asked me to pop the hood or complained about the noise.

I've never received tickets or been pulled over much in my life, but the past year that I've come and gone to Socal, I've been pulled over 3 times, and ticketed every single time. All 3 times I did something I probably shouldn't have done.
1. Entered left turning lane too early
2. Rolling through a stop sign, Cop even told me the California roll is cool, but I did it too fast.
3. Turning left out of a parking lot that had a no left turn sign.
So yes, tickets, but my bad for sure. All 3 times they asked my about my Utah plates, and I have to explain to them I'm visiting again. They probably think I'm lying cause they probably see my ticket history lol

ive got a very stock s14, lowered and a really loud welded lol. my va safety inspection sticker expired last august but luckily the car was in florida from then onto december. then took it back to my then home in md and parked it there (due to damage at the track) till i got back from school for the summer. pretty much drove all over dmv with a 1 year expired safety inspection as if i didnt have it. cops didnt care at all. just got my safety renewed last august. i found this kind of funny because when my dad moved to va, and only his 3rd day as an actual resident there, he was pulled over for not having the sticker in his window, at night lol.
however ive only been pulled over twice, once in the 240. first was the 2nd year i had my license, and i had a super ricey eclipse lol. i was doing 82 in a 55 in va, which is considered reckless driving. went go to court to get it dropped to a speeding ticket. and this summer actually when i was stopped doing around 90 in a 45 zone, but the cop just gave me a lecture, quick pen test to make sure i wasnt drunk and he let me go. someone was looking over me that night for sure.

This. Never gotten pulled over in my car since I've owned it. Although I was followed home one night a few months ago. But that's the only incident I've had since I moved here.

9 times out of 10 you get pulled over because you're driving like a jackass, not because your car is modified. Pulling you over and popping your hood is just a shitload of paperwork to most cops and cops don't like paperwork. Most people are not really paying much attention when they're driving and they never even see the cop. Most of the time if you were just paying attention and concentrating on driving, rather than jacking off, you will see the cop ahead of time and be fine. Also driving around in the loudest, lowest, POS with mis-matched paint and shit hanging off the bottom of the car will get the cop's attention. I would pull most 240 owners and pop their hoods if I was a cop. Too many of you guys are driving around in cars similar to those described above.

got pulled over in the S15 once in the two years i owned it and it was on my move out of state. Trooper pulled me over walked up to my passanger window(left side) and was like........ then proceeded to my side. He just merely informed me that i had a tag light out and that my exhaust was illegal, he had asked when i put it on and i said yesterday. Needless to say i got a warning and that was it.

I've only been pulled over a few times in my s14 but mainly because i was being a moron. One time i punched it down a hill on a highway because the california drivers like to line up on a highway and do 55mph blocking all lanes when there is no one ahead of them. Well i didnt get pulled over but as courtesy to the officer i pulled off the highway and the chp pulled up to me, told me not weave in and out of traffic because it scares other people and told me its a dead giveaway that im speeding. He told me to be safe and have a good day.
The second time was because i was in a buslane and i knew it but had to make a right turn. He asked if my car was modified, i said look its oem nissan parts all around. Which is true in a way - minus the rims and exhaust. He said dont bullshit me i used to have one of these cars, then he gave me a warning and let me go.
When it comes to my other cars ive gotten no registration, no plate, rolled a stop sign, and carpool. I did not even bother talking my way out of them because i didnt want to piss the cops off knowing that i was in the wrong each time.
On the other hand ive had cops give me a nod, wave, smile, so i its not like they are just out to get you, dont be a douche and you wont be treated like one.
It all comes down to how you drive and what you drive. And i think its a lot cheaper to buy tires and pay for a track day than pay for traffic violations. My 2 cents...

I dont know if it helps having 3 cops living on my street and another 5 in my neighborhood that see my car daily with no hood or bumper on when im working on it lol (stock sr but its pretty shiny haha) but they never give me trouble. I try to follow all road rules, not cut people off and drive nice and clean besides speeding 5-10 over occasionally. Ive only actually been pulled over once for my car and the cop just wanted to know what kind of exhaust I had (Espiler GT500) and just said watch out for high way patrol since its kind of loud, other than that Ive been pulled over for speeding once and the cop was trying to tell me my speedometer was off by 20mph in a stock coupe.... Hell even last night a cop followed me for a minute with expired tags and didnt pull me over.

22 or so of them where right when my car was fresh out of paint, looked mint and was quite.
Just Burbank PD.
Small town.
Bored cops (i called the cops at 1am on a person hitting his wife on the road side once, within 2 minutes, over 12 cop cars and over 24 officers, the watch captain was trying to get them to get back inthier cars and go back to the station)
Tons of money from studios that are technically in thier zone. (Disney, Warner Brothers....)
Racist department. (im half mexican)
Of course, this is the same department that is under FBI investigation and the Chief Blew his own brains out when they started to look into his stuff. I like to feel my police reports/complaints i filed added to it :)
And BTW, most of the time my hood was popped, a third of the time i was taken out and me and the car searched. and almost 75% of the time i never fixed what i got signed off.

I appreciate it when drivers are respectful and don't act like spoiled brats and question what I saw. "I didn't run that stop sign" I'm sure your car can accelerate to 40 mph in about 1/3 of a second from a complete stop you smacked ass. Just be straight with me and there are no tickets involved. As Racepar1 said, there is an assload of paperwork for every carstop I do. Tickets are handwritten here, as well as the actual contact form for the stop. I also have to enter the information on an electronic form that is goddam identical to the contact sheet. Ass backwards process for a huge department like ours.
Most cops aren't just some dickhead who gets his rocks off by giving tickets and exerting their "power" over you. Me, I'm an easygoing guy, I'd rather look at your engine and ask how you enjoy the engine and what issues you have. It's hard for most 240 owners around here to grasp that my "toy" is a CA powered POS. Again, I don't speak for all cops, I'll admit there are some that are just miserable jerkoffs that need to find another job. Don't like what you do for a living? Quit. I work for the public, I am employed because they have a need for police officers... except North Philly, F them. J/K

I never get pulled over there. Ever.

Never.
Most tickets are from Burbank.
That "wall of tickets" photo is old, this is definitely not the first time I've seen it. I'm pretty sure those are from when your car was really busted. I would totally have pulled THAT car over, LOL! It could also be the rollcage too in the new car, that's kind of obvious... Besides all that, everyone knows that burbank pretty much sucks ass, haha. It's not so much the people that live there or the area, it's the douchebags that run the place and of course your favorite police department.
I've personally never had a problem with cops. I've never even once had my hood popped, never gotten a fix-it ticked for a mod, and have never been harassed or hassled by any cop for anything. Even when I was totally in the wrong it was a minimal hassle and I usually didn't get a ticket of any kind.

I remember getting pulled over when I had my em1, and my rb s13. Driving like an asshat with a welded diff and running rich as a pig.
In fact, one night after getting gas I was pullin' out and my welded diff would chirp on low speed tight turns, well according to the officer who promptly pulled me over I "made a burn out." He popped me, took one long hard look at my rb25 and said "yeah that's definitely illegal." Probably felt sorry for my ass and just let me off with an exhaust fix-it after explaining to him that my differential makes chirpy sounds on turns due to rotational equilibrium. I doubt he truly gave a fuck and I'm sure I just got off lucky.
The most I've ever been pulled over though is when I drove my STi. Jesus, if I have a nickel for every time I had to explain that the spoiler and scoop/intercooler was factory. So maybe exteriors are bigger catalysts for getting pulled than anything else.
Come to think of it, I got pulled a lot when I drove my mom's minivan for a while. I got pulled twice on one night just going to get milk; second officer made me walk home cause I didn't have my license on me--Safeway was 6 blocks from my house!
Come to think of it I've been pulled a lot; I posted with the intention on trying to identify certain car-related things that would increase the likelihood of getting pulled but I'm sure we know what those are. I'm sure much of me being pulled over for has to do with me being brown and bald though.

To everyone saying "just drive normal": of the 6 times I've been pulled over in a 240, 5 of those were just cruising at or below the speed limit. I got pulled over in the middle of nowhere at 2am when my car was pretty quiet and had fresh paint. Cop said that my license plate light was out and "just wanted to see who you were and where you were going." He was probably just bored. The day I bought my first 240 I was pulled over twice within 10 minutes for looking suspicious. The car which was completely stock with a 26 swap and they drug searched as well. Ironically, of those 6 times I received no tickets and no written warnings.
Edit: I'm a skinny white dude, but apparently look "guilty" all the time.

I get pulled over pretty frequently. My kouki has JDM aero and gold wheels, that's usually what first draws their attention. Then they run my plates, I have a personalized ASU plate. Apparently someone else has the exact same plate as I do in a regular Arizona plate. But in the system mine shows up with an "A" prefix in front of it, I assume that just designates its and ASU plate. Of course I have to explain this story over and over again, lucky for me I look pretty innocent so I have yet to get any sort of ticket.

I get pulled over in spurts. I'll go a couple months of no attention whatsoever then BAM, I get pulled over twice a week for a month but its slowed down quite a bit since I do the speed limit and daily a Jeep. driving like an ass is overrated.

Evening guys! I have a 92" s13 coupe m/t. My exhaust is not stock but it's not loud. My s13's body is stock but my wheels are wide. I know my rights. I don't drive like a jack ass or a ricer and that's hard to do with a slow and tired KA24DE engine. I never get pulled over. Oh and I am MP who works traffic meaning I write lots of citations for mostly speeding and I investigate traffic accidents. What gets my attention the most is failing to use turn signals, trailing or lead vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed. Does that tell you to travel in packs? Lastly, what gets my attention the most is really loud exhaust. Be courteous when you drive, obey the traffic laws, and don't race on public roads.

Like I said, most of those were when the car was new and i hadnt even been to the track yet.
When the car was at its worse, i was in LA, and never got a ticket.
And with the newer shell and cage in LA, they dont care.
They only pull you over to harass you here.
alot of times they let me go as soon as they realize i am 36, and i drop something about going to work at whichever studio i am working at.
They usually ask if Im on probation, so that goes to show who they thought they were pulling over, cause im sure they arent asking soccer moms that shit.
and burbank doesnt sign tickets off, the highway patrol does.
I once got a ticket by burbank PD on the corner of the courthouse at 7am for a muffler i had signed off at 3pm the day earlier.
They sat there with me, popped the hood, and wasted 30 minutes to make sure i would be late to have the previous ticket signed off in court.
Of course, after court, i went straight to the Police station, got their watch captain and filed a complaint against the officers involved.
Went to the state patrol and had him sign the new one off and he asked what happened on recognizing my car.
The look of disgust he had for those officers, lol

I would say from my experiance your better off with the stock look, but exhaust is what gets their attention without even having to see you. I thought I had been pulled over alot but now that I think about it I daily drove my s14 kitted lowered with 3in exhaust for about 2 1/2 year and I've only been pulled over around 3 or 4 times but I also drive like a grandma cas I don't want anymore tickets.
Not just that it depends on the cop, some cops just look for those whom are breaking the law others are just itching to hand out tickets.

you sir, are a G. thats how you stick it back to the man!!
OP, i think your question is something you can answer for yourself. I mean if your car is clean out and in you wont have problems if you put a street exhaust on your car. When I had a busty DD hatch beater, I got 5 tickets in 8 months, all fix it small waste my time tickets. I've had a clean ass coupe for 3 years now, only got one ticket cause i did an illegal u turn over here in the SFV. I'd say you're gonna be fine they have bigger fish to fry.

This is why im glad i dont live in CA. FL, at least around me, is super laid back about this stuff. No emissions testing, and most cops are worried more about people breaking laws that can hurt people.
I've driven around with no bumper, hood, or fenders for a day or two with no issues.

I feel you. I live in a college town and know a few police here (as my previous job kept me in close contact with a lot of them.) State Patrol in Florida told me that basically he looks for anything that looks like it could be a "street racer." When I asked him if he feels the same about BMWs or Porsches..he laughed and said "No rich people don't race."
Kind of ironic since everyone I see at the local track for test and tune is riding up with brand new F150s towing their "tuner cars" to the track to play....mostly extremely rich guys who I see at car club.

I've gotten pulled in my silver/stock em2 more than my red and no where near stock s13. Matter of fact, just last week I was pulled over with my hood up (leaking coolant and 100*+ temps don't mix) and the police chief stopped and asked if I was ok. The dude even went and got me a bucket of water and helped poor it in. All the while my sr20 was right in front of him and he never said a word.
Another time, a cop that followed me home and called me over to his car once I was parked in the garage. He asked me about my exhaust because he liked the way it sounded and was looking for an exhaust for his speed3. Of course I neglected to mention is was catless.

Your theory just blows my mind.. honestly.
Lets just hypothetically say, you went and practiced on the streets, cop around the corner, boom... busted. How much do you think thats going to cost you, reckless driving, modified car, impound fees, lawyer fees, bail (unless you get a cool cop), etc etc... Couple grand easily.
Vs,
Taking it to the track for $100, find a friend with a truck and rent the uhaul trailer (pretty cheap)... You dont have to worry about getting caught.
Some people are just stupid. I dont care if you slide on the streets, just dont post about it, because your going to get pinked if a mod sees it, and it makes you look like just another d-bag that gives drifting a bad name.
That is all.

His statement is pretty legit. If you don't drive like a douchebag, most cops will leave you alone. Hell some will even compliment your car.

I dont think cops care that much about what you drive unless it looks like shit or like it is not meant to be driven on the street. I ran into some ahole today in an m3.....this guy deserves the douchebag of the year award. We are both pumping gas and he pulls out his golf stick out of his trunk and starts practicing his swings. I leave and i see him runnin into his car - mind you he is some 45+ white dude. I pull out of the station and get up to speed kind of quick because cars are coming at me, wel the ahole races after me and flys by me like a bat out of hell. Who do you think a cop is gonna pull over? A guy in a 240 doing 35mph or an ahole in his m3 going 65mph?
Like ive said before if you drive like an idiot you will get pulled over and get tickets up the ying yang. If you drive like the average person on the road why would a cop pull you over? Unless your ricer car has loud exhaust or is so damn low its throwing sparks....

Here is where I can chime in. Keep in mind these are things I have witnessed and heard of from the people involved.
Theres a group of spoiled rich Indian kids at my highschool. They arent car enthusiasts no matter how much wikipedia can tell them. Anyways, all of them thought it would be cool to dick ride each other so the 3 of them got G35's for their first cars. This is where the stupidity begins. They all think its cool to do donuts at business parks and what not, so thats what they did the first 2 months they had them. One of them ended up blowing his engine, so he bought another G35 (Isnt it great to be spoiled?) Eventually that kid that got another one, go his car impounded. So he gets a S2K. Guess what? In the first week he gets a ticket for burning out (its stock but he doesnt think so) What happens next week? He is going 100 in a 45 and a cop puts on his lights to pull him over. He thinks his car has a million horsepower and he is in Need For Speed so he tries to outrun them. In a stock S2K. Against a Supercharged Crown Vic. Now his license is suspended for a year, and his car is impounded. Again.
Long story short, if you dont drive like its Fast & Furious and think youre the shit, you should be fine.

The next time i see or hear them do that im goin to rip them a new one and have a long talk with mommy and daddy.

Thats epic. I have some armo kids on my street - also in highschool. They come in all hot down the street and park. As for "Audacious" (such a stupid name for a club thats shunned from our local meets), their "love" for high torque V8s + a G35 = BLOWN VQ. :picardfp:
hahaha, damn rich kids. It must be nice. They don't take care and appreciate what they have because they did not
have to work hard to get what they have themselves
Which is why I have chosen the path to build my own 2JZ with my uncle and know everything about it, plus work hard cause its all coming from my pocket. Hopefully Ill have it done this year and have best senior car for next year (As long as the damn leadership SNIP, AGAIN! dont pick their own cars)

got pulled over in this, a stock ass ae72 corolla http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5149/5639616489_293d80a326_n.jpg once for my shitty dual-tip no-name not-even-loud exhaust, got my hood popped (had a 4ac, weber carb, with all smog components removed) cop threatened to take me to the ref, all with my bro, sis, and mom in the car, in thousand oaks. but eventually let me go.
another for overtaking a truck by doing 55 in a 35 ended up getting a $400 speeding ticket in thousand oaks.
third for the same exhaust in reseda, let off with a warning.
a fourth time for going 75 while drizzling and ended up getting a fix it ticket for the same exhaust, on the 101 passing calabasas at 1am with no other cars on the road.
and once in this: http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l292/willbreakforrice/th_DSC_0289a.jpg a couple of days after i bought it cause my paper work didnt show up after they ran my plates since i just did it the day before. officer told me "why do you have a lowered car? the ride must be shitty" in north hills, but they just let me go.
and not once during the process of becoming this: drove it with no headlights, no bumper, primered hood with sanded spots, mismatched fenders and wheels all at one point and never got pulled over. i sometimes sparked from being so low, and even took out some road reflectors.

You see low slung exotic cars like Lambos and Ferraris, but do they ever get pulled over for being too low, no. Why are normal cars any different? What's the difference between a open wastegate and straight pipes on the highway vs a screaming V8? Both are equally as loud but I don't see muscle cars getting crap for being loud. Sometimes the differences just annoy me.

I am a ferrari technician by day and i can shed some truth to this. My S13 is less than 1/2'' lower than a stock F430. We have to use special floor jacks to lift ferrari's up just so we can get the arms of the hoist to clear. And the exhaust design ferrari uses is straight up illegal. once you pass a specific RPM the exhaust manifold bypasses the muffler and sends the flow from the head straight through to the catalytic converter (which is only 7'' long) and out the tips. this is why ferraris sound so gnarly when they are flying by you. do that in an S chassis and you will be fined. sense this makes none. i guess the moral of the story is get rich and drive a ferrari???

Because a Ferari, Porsche, BMW, Corvette, Viper, etc... are actual nice, well-respected sportscars. Sportscars get a pass because most cops think they're cool. Most cops do not think that your little S13 is cool. It's a secretarymobile that you've changed everything about to try and make it cool. The problem is that most of the stuff that you've changed is illegal and cops know that. Cops are out there to catch people doing illegal stuff. It doesn't make any sense to pull over that super loud Ferari when he knows that it's most likely stock and completely legal.

This is a dumbass statement. It does not take into account any profiling by police, which of course happens everyday - regardless if you drive a modified 240, EVO, Z33, etc.
How is it a dumbass statement?
I drove a stroker evo with test pipes and full 3" exhaust and an open dump here in San Francisco. Drove by cops every day. There's even a police station at the local mall that I frequent. Didn't get bothered once. Follow the speed limit, don't drive like a jackass, and you decrease your chances of getting pulled over by a shit load. I've seen dumbasses here with 240s that blast by cops with their exhaust like they don't give a fuck. After the cop lights them up I'm sure they say "omg guyz i got pulled over". Well no shit, you have a loud exhaust that smell strongly of gas, and blasted by that cop that was obviously right there. I wonder why you got pulled over?
I guess driving responsibly is impossible for all the 16 year old high school freshmen getting these cars.

oh, and if you live in california and get hassled for the "no front plate" do this.
get one of those chunky license plate brackets
like so
http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/product-info/en/US/drm/68184/image/2/
put your license plate on it with 2 screws.
like so
http://www.subaruoutback.org/gallery/500/15333img_0057.jpg
put the bracket and plate on the ground and SMASH it with a hammer until it looks like someone backed into you and rendered the bracket unusable.
remove "one" screw to make it look less usable.
throw it in the dirt to make it look more rugged and hardcore. (yeahhhhhhh)
toss it in your trunk along with the other chunks of plastic that flew off.
If cops ask you why you don't have a front plate.
you: Sorry officer, some idiot yesterday backed into me and completely destroyed my front bracket.
cop: prove it.
you: *pop trunk* see officer. The plate is bent and the bracket is unusable. it would be unsafe to mount.
cop: thats unfortunate. try and get it repaired as soon as you can. have a good day.
and for all the kids with these cars. it would help if you weren't high on weed when you got pulled over.

What department gets supercharged Vics?

Background:
I drive like I'm driving miss daisy 90%+ of the time.
I basically drive at the speed limit, use my signals, obey all traffic laws, and most of my driving is simply to and from work in rush hour.
Today I decided to stop by the mall after work.
Well, as I'm waiting to turn left at the light entering the mall parking area, a cop pulls up behind me.
I turn left when the light turns green, and as I'm winding through the mall lot looking for a good place to park, the blue lights come on.
Long story short, the she-cop tells me she has notes in her system that I've been warned before about my smoked tails.
She gets my license and insurance and comes back with two tickets:
1. Offense - taillights: 40-8-23(A) - tail light covers are not gdot approved
2. Offense - exhaust system - penalty for violation: 40-8-71 - vehicle blowing excessive smoke
Now IMO this is the typical bs revenue generating force at work.
How many actual crimes were going on while I was pulled over?
Now here comes my defense:
I've had these tails on the car FOR YEARS.
All of a sudden now it's important enough to pull me over for, right?
I was pulled over one time last year (also in Alpharetta) and the officer said my tails were dim but that my brake lights were too bright. (wtf?!)
He really didn't give a shit, as again I feel like he pulled me over bc of the car.
Apparently he wrote something in the copcarputer that he warned me. :/
I overfilled my car by 1.5qts of oil last time I added it.
Yes, there is a little (LITTLE) bit of smoke randomly - usually after I've been driving for a while and then stop at a light then pull off again. It's really minor, but whatever.
I don't even have emissions in my county so pfft.
Anyway, I've been pulled over 6x in a 4 month period a while back - all by the same cop, and all within a mile of my work. It's all been clearly profiling. They usually just check my license and insurance and let me go. Sometimes I'd get told that my tint was too dark (it's legal limit) and then they check it and say nm. Usually though, they dont give a reason for pulling me over. The last time, I got irate and told him I pay his salary with my taxes and that he was profiling me and that I was sick of being harassed. He got mad and wrote me a ticket for a 'dirty license plate,'
After that, I didn't get pulled over for like a year.
But now I've gotten pulled over 3x recently.
I really feel like its because I work in a Latino area, and although I'm not Latino, I suppose I must look like I am to these cops or my car looks 'Mexi' to them.
And the time before this, when I got pulled over in Avondale Estates, the cop was harassing me so bad - he searched my person 2x and literally squeezed my balls both times. He was up in my face asking why my eyes were half shut (I'm half Asian and it was 1am) - yelling so much his spit was flying out of his mouth into my face. He got pissed off and told me to not back away and not to lean on my car. So apparently I'm supposed to stand there and have this dick cop yell in my face 2" away with his spit flying and not lean on my own car? :/
When all was said and done, I didn't get so much as a warning.
But when I said there was no reason to search me or even pull me over, he started saying he was going to write me tickets for exhaust and crossing over the yellow line, and car too low... He was literally just making up offenses that I hadn't done!
I had to start saying 'yes sir' a bunch of times to avoid more harassment because basically it wasn't going to get any better. He was just itching to put me in the back of his car for any excuse he could come up with. Even the other cop that came as backup was looking freaked out at how far over the line this guy was. :/
Now here's a pic of the offensive daily driver:
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/Black_R/S13/9c4d282d.jpg
I'm sure there are some good cops out there, but I just haven't encountered any in a long long time.

Got profiled and pulled over in this leaving a friends house with a group of cars late at night in his neighborhood, not even a block from where we left, cop pulls my car over. What sucks was I let a friend drive it while I was in his car. and when the cops pulled him over, the turbo timer was set, so they bitched at that and made him throw the keys out of the car. Sadly they struck gold as I had black top sr20, fmic and all that. Asked to pop hood and got a ref ticket.

When your car is clean, solid one color, matching wheels, no super loud exhaust, front license plate (I like front plates, i dont think they look bad) you won't get much trouble. Some cops are cool and some cops are bored and just looking for a reason to give someone a ticket. Chances are if your driving a ricer looking car thats loud your gonna get pulled over at one point or the other. With that being said if you dont get pulled over for speeding or doing something stupid they probably arent going to give you a citation. So yes you will probably get pulled over more with a bodykit, but consequences wont be too bad.

But i have never gotten a ticket in my s14 its always been my bmw, saturn, jetta, altima.
And all my tickets have been minor things, but its because im the type of a person that will go to the next exit if i miss mine instead of trying to cut over 4 lanes to get off the highway. Or ill drive a few blocks to make a legal u turn etc.

You guys can get 11 tickets and have a licence?
In NH they have a habitual law. 2nd offense goes to losing your licence. And driving on suspended licences is automatic 1 year jail.... Your laws seem different.

No lie, I got tickets at least once every 4 months when I had a Mustang. Since I've sold it, and have owned only Nissan's for going on, about 3 years now, I haven't been pulled over once. Well actually I got pulled for a headlight out in my D21 about a year ago. I've had my S14 since March, and it has been crazy low and had a considerably louder than stock exhaust on it since April. Haven't been hassled yet.
I would chalk most of this up to maturity level though honestly. That, and Idk if anyone else in VA has noticed this...but there seem to be A LOT less state troopers on the road over the past year or so.

michigan... I drive a haggard looking x8 cressida with a bunch of rust, no rear bumper, spraypaint, blast pipes, perpetually bald tires / belts showing, too much camber, too low, no cats, burns oil.
when it was stock-ish exhaust, never got pulled over. took the car off the road for a while, did rear arms, lowered it, cut the muffler that was on there off because it sat underneath the subframe and would have dragged once I got the car back together.
with 2.25" straight pipe, cut off just before the rear subframe, I got pulled over the night I got the car back together. I was running the japanese cresta center section between the rear tails, and moved the plate way down to the bottom of the rear panel and bent it up... didn't get around to moving the lights to illuminate it, though. so I got pulled over for "loud exhaust, no rear bumper, no plate lights, and a stupid custom plate that takes forever to run". let off with a warning.
after my birthday at the beginning of september, I took way too long to make it to the secretary of state to renew my license and registration. got pulled over the other day for expired tags and ridiculously loud exhaust (I replaced the 2.25" straight pipe that cut out under the car with 3" piping to ISIS blast pipes, and it honestly got a little louder), and my license was expired as well. warning for the other stuff, written for expired tags, which is a $125 civil infraction that carries no points. fixed that the next day, hopefully I can get it reduced or thrown out.
never had the car searched though, knock on wood.

Eh, people so often get this confused. People hear marauders have "cobra motors" which is wrong, and assume it is supercharged. Marauders have automatic mach1 motors with less power, lower redline, and no forged internals.

Pretty common knowledge in this case that those cars are v6's and the highway patrol cars/ some county sheriffs are v8. Cop cars don't need to have power, they aren't trying to out accelerate anyone.
There has never been a v6 Crown Vic Interceptor...ever. Every police/rpo Vic and charger is a v8, if not every single one, then I would say easily 98% of them. The only police vehicles I've ever seen with something other than a v8 have been small trucks and suvs used for animal control. And one Ecoboost f150 that I got to drive last week, and that bitch would scoot.

This is no exaggeration, I've had 8-9 encounters with the police in the past month. I try to answer every question straight forward, and I think that's why they always let me go.
2 days ago, I was heading over to a friends house over at midnight. I was at the light, no one around, so I gun it in 1st and 2nd. I pull over in front of my friends house seconds later, and a cop pulls up behind me out of nowhere. He gets out, tells me he gunned me going 55 in a 25, asks for my license , registration, and...cannabis card (he got a whif of it when i rolled the window down). He searches my car, throws out all my bud, tears up everything. At this point, I'm ready to be taken in for DUI or given a bunch of tickets. All he says "Get your head out of your ass" and he leaves. Fucking sweet.
And that's only 1 of the encounters.

This Escort Solo II Radar detector got me out of a ticket the very first day that I got it and has been saving me ever since. Was going through historic ellicot city and it went off before I even turned the corner where a cop was hiding. I pick up speeding cameras and red light cameras with it too.
Haven't had a single speeding ticket yet, just a few warnings and a ticket I got off free on for a one tire fire I did in my parents' minivan when I was 16.... Probably also helps that my 240 was white and pretty stock looking besides the wheels and low. The exhaust definitely wasn't quiet but I usually look before I screw around
There is also a newer model than this as I understand, so I'm sure it works even better. I've had experience with a few other units that really didn't seem to do much in other friends' cars also

Hate to break it to you, but twice I jobshadowed city cops, once in middle school, once in high school. Went on patrol with both of them and got to check out the cars. Both were crown vics, and both were v6ers. The sheriff that lived across the street from me, on the other hand, had the v8. Honestly though, BFD, we're talking about a damn 2v 4.6.
The difference is those exotic cars suspensions are DESIGNED to be that low and therefore function 10x better than any over lowered s chassis shit bucket.
And usually you have to speed to open a wastegate. So that answers that.

the problem with radar detectors now is that most cops (in cali and bigger cities) use laser which is more accurate than radar. these detectors will detect laser but once it goes off the cop already clocked you.

your point is?..... if you drop any car correctly, isnt the suspension designed to function better lowered?

Keyword correctly. How many of these cars posted are dropped correctly? None. I guarantee all of those control arms are facing UP on some below $1000 shitty coil overs. Add in 20 year old bushings on most of the suspension.
Edit-There's alot more to it than just lowering. At least high end exotics spend years in R&D for their suspension.

There hasn't been a V6 engine a Crown Vic since 1992. Hell doing research I don't think there has ever been a V6 in a Vic.
The only vehicles I know that have come with V6's and that I have driven are the chargers and the Impala that I currently drive.
Also, check your state laws. Radar detectors might be illegal.

In my area (close to San Antonio, Texas) we have an entire fleet of chargers, a bunch of normal crown vics, Dually (i believe a sheriff has the dually) a bunch of State Troopers in Tahoe's, and troopers in crown vics as well.
The town where I live's population is definitely on the rise because San Antonio is expanding along the highway toward my town. I have yet to be pulled over in my 240, and I do have a pretty loud exhaust. I've had my 1996 240sx se for about 5 months now. Luckily the police here aren't very bad, just obey the traffic laws, and they won't mess with you usually. I have even revved driving past the police here and they haven't even blinked an eye, and yes they definitely heard it. I guess they're just used to all the huge lifted diesels here.

I got pulled over in my 95 on labor day going back to sonic because they forgot to give me my coney lol. I was doing 60 in a 45 he was in the middle lane stopped facing me by the time I realized he was there it was too late.
First thing i did was lie which was stupid! Hes like you know how fast you were going? I'm like 50? hes like nope you were going 60 on "my" street. Then hes like, that's a pretty rare car you got there you got that japanese motor in there? I was like nope all stock i think the engine is from mexico. He made a face haha. Then he asked why I was in a hurry I told him they forgot my coney and my food is getting cold at home!
He let me go with a warning. Then after I was leaving sonic he had stopped some truck lol.

If you have stupid blast pipes, decals all over your windows, mismatch wheels , crap hanging from your tow hooks etc, than you will get attention. Race still plays a big issue too.

Most of the time we get pulled over its NOT for speeding, its for the simple fact that we have hids or exhaust and the cop wants to check it out as I already said. And it was mentioned that the headlights have to be a certain height for a car (someone mentioned 24"), what about exotics that come lower? Are you a cop?

No, cops are not being real dicks. Its that too many idiots like you think you can get away with a loud exhaust and a slammed car. I drive my 240 and its louder than most but cops dont care one bit about it because it is really clean and i drive like a grandma most of the time unless some prius trys to run me off the road and i have to catch up to give them the finger - true story.

Read your states code for exhausts. Might also be a town/city code. My town has a code of too loud exhaust...but it is vague. It is mostly directed at people that you can hear from a 1/4 mile away or more. I have never pulled someone over for it...but have been tempted. Mostly Honda cars with horrible exhausts.

As far as license plate wise... Most of the CHP here in california seem to only pull you over if you happen to just pull down an empty street with them just hanging out there. Thats what happen to me at least, I was literally on my way to the DMV to get my tags and one of the streets thats a short cut to get there had an officer just sitting there. I did not have any front plate on and he pulled me over and just said the typical
(officer) "license and registration please then sort of sarcastically said " did you know your license plate is gone in the front ? and your tags are out..... why ??"
(Me)" well i actually dont have the mounting piece for it and it keeps falling off with out it, and literally sir i was heading to the DMV right now to get them. If you want you can follow me to the DMV and even watch me put them on "
(Officer)" so if i follow you right now youll have your tags ready ?
(me) "yep"
As i started to offer him to follow me to prove to him i was getting the tags he put his ticket book away. I saw him almost touch that pen onto the book and just told him what i told him and he knew i was telling the truth.
He actually just said he believes me and let me go.
I have been pulled over though by cops that just are assholes.. For the most part.. If you can just be honest, they sometimes will let you go. They can smell :bs: a mile away...
Another time i was pulled over literally with out my license, i was coming home from 7-11 after realizing i had lost my wallet and what do ya know... i get pulled over...
He asks me for my license..
(Me) sir i have no idea how but i somehow i seem to of lost my wallet.
(officer) Step out of the car...
He then puts me in the back of his squad car literally i think was gonna have my car impounded.
(me) Sir please dont write me a ticket, i have a perfect record and i really dont wanna tarnish it what so ever, ive learned my mistake but i honestly thought it was in my sweatshirt pocket)
( Officer ) you better not let me see you again or im not letting you go
Thankfully he let me go home.
My advice is just try to sound sincere and honest... The people that try to be smart asses when getting pulled over... they arent getting anywhere with that plan... Show the officer respect regardless if you hate them or not ... they may take it easy on you.

Exactly! Cops see through the bullshit because they take classes that educate them on who is lying and who is not. They look for verbal and physical queues. Another thing i can mention - dont be a pussy when on the road. Just because a cop is next to you or near you doesnt mean he will pull you over. I usually pass them up or get ahead and drive in front of them to show them i have nothing to hide or be afraid off. If they notice you trying to dodge them, you will likely get pulled over because lets face it, 240s are rice. You are not driving a porsche or a lambo. Lol

Yep, if you start to avoid me like the plague on the road, you are perking my interest into why. Then I will find a traffic violation to make a stop on you.
Also don't lie to cops. We will find out the truth. If you lie, the easy route that we were going to do for you (i.e. warning, throw whatever it is away, etc) is out the window.

Does having "Baby on board" , "I<3Cops" or "NAVY/ARMY" decals help at all from getting pulled over?

I hardly ever get pulled over. However, in the great state of California, I get in more trouble for not driving than I do driving.
This morning at work, I'm doing an oil change for a customer and I get a call from my neighbor telling me that the police are at my house searching through my 240's. I have one parked on the side of my house, and another parked in the street (running car.) Both 240's have full exterior, wheels, and are not covered in cobwebs, dirt or anything. They are nice looking and do not look like junkyard vehicles. I guess they were doing a local waste of time search through neighborhood and run plates thing, and gave me shit for my cars that are on NON-OP, being parked and not driven. Long story short, it is illegal to have a car parked at your own residence if it does not run. I now have 3 days to get both cars running, smogged, registered, and tagged up to date, or else they will both be towed. Either that or I need to find a place to put them.
Fucking California I swear.

I agree california cops suck and they arnt very smart. I used to get stopped fairly often and one time I was driving a 240 coupe with some work supplies on the back seat and this cop lady stops me and has me step out of the car then all of a sudden she freaks out and is like "thats nitrous" pointing into the back seat of my car and im like"umm no its not" I didnt even know what she was pointing at, and shes all like "dont play games with me that is nitrous" then I tell her i have no idea what she is pointing at and she's all like its right there pointing to my paint gun. I lol and say thats a paint gun.. she continues to insist that its nitrous. its ironic cuz before i drove a 240 i drove a camaro with a 10lb bottle of nitrous mounted in plain sight behind the passenger seat and never even got looked at by the police. Another time I was driving a beat up coupe multi colored and what not and I pull into my college parking lot and as im walking away from my car a city cop stops me and asks where im going, (I was wearing a back pack it was pretty obvious where I was going) so I hold up the back pack straps and say "class" he then asks me if thats my car and i say ya, long story short he holds me up makes me give him all my info name, what class im going to, building its in. etc. and he makes me late to class. that 240 did look like junk though.
I've had a DT ask if I wanted to run for slips...... while I was parked. The look on my face must've been priceless.
I've had a cop tell me to "light em up" on my way out of the gym.
I've been pulled over for a "tint violation" only to be asked if my car was for sale....
Most cops leave me alone and actually like my ride. A few of them used to have sr'd 240's.
