Alright guys need some help here. I just recently bought a 92 hatch from a guy i know. He said he bought it from an old guy that needed it gone. And it needed timing chain guides put on? lol. so he replaced them and i told him i would buy it when he fixed it. Because I HATE working on these motors. But heres the problem. I bought the car like a week or so ago. But its been awaiting tags and all that junk. I started the car up the other day and after about a minute or so of idling it starts blowing smoke. Blueish tint to it. not white. the motors got a good bit of miles on it but was well taken care of. But shit goes wrong after 20 years. i rev it up to about 2k rpm and it blows smoke everywhere haha. i havent had much experience with these motors. im an RB guy. it idles fine, drives fine, does everything fine. Its weird because before i bought the car i drove it and everything checked out. Solid running car. no smoke. Nothing. It sits out back of my house because i was going to put tags and stuff on it tomorrow. so it was sitting 2 weeks AT MOST. But if i need a rebuild i won't do that. lol. What would your guys' first steps be?

Compression test. Blue smoke=oil. If you can work on an rb, you can work on a ka.

Well i knew a long time ago that blue smoke is oil burning lol. like WAY back. But im thinking its valve stem seals. Looks like ill be doing that.....
