Hey whats up, It is the throw out bearing. So you might as well get a new clutch, unless you realy are on a budget then get just the throw out bearing. If you are not insalling the stuff your self get the clutch. I will promise it is the throw out bearing, I will put it to my grave. Who ever told you synchro's is full of crap, I work on Nissan's every day.

the throwout bearing has nothing to do with the problem he described. washing nissans everyday dosent count as working on them. I would say that it IS the synchros.

don't you think it might be the cylinders?? had similar problem but it was the slave cylinder. Just an opinion though. check on it doesn't hurt.

I would say get a friend and check if the slave cylinder is working when tou press the clutch, if it isnt then you need a new mc or slave....if it is then its your synchros

couple things this could be actually.
can you shift the car but just not get into 1st gear? if so then its probably a synchro.
can you not shift at all, or are forced to shift without the clutch then its 1 of a few other things. bad throwout bearing won't cause the problem but could have caused one of the other problems. one thing it could be is your actual pressure plate is worn out so it won't disengage the clutch. I rode around for 2 months with a bad throwout bearing because I didn't have time to change it, for the last day it actually wore through the pressure plate and when I pushed in the clutch it'd go straight through the plate. other thing it could be of course is a bad master or slave cylinder causing the clutch to not be engaged. the last thing it could be which you rarely see but sometimes does happen is it could be the actual clutch fork is either bent or popped off its pivot ball. either way unless its the slave or master cylinder sounds like your pulling a trans. have fun
