www.f1boston.com. In preparation for the race I went kart racing today . #### this is the shit. Don't let those lawn mover engines fool you. I was power sliding my ass off all over the track. To the point I spun out.. I made it in 4th because of that. . The 1 driver lap me, He was a veteran. Anyone kart raced before? On the way home my car felt loose and mushy. The steering is really hard on those karts. Can't wait to put on my Koni's on tomorrow.

yup i race karts too. im in the championship here in montreal. im running 30.04 and the track record is 28.35
dont drift through in karts though youll lose time in the end. unless the karts are REALLY powerful where you go just brake well and glide through the turn to carry your momentum through. for me its kinda hard i weigh 110 (no im not anerexic) and sticking in turns is a BITCH! but straights are mine for the taking!

I was auctually holding back. . Really, you in the champs? I much HP does those things have anyways. Next I must counger auto X. ha ha.

depends. where i go theyre 6.5 HP but on a concrete track which means less grip. some places in montreal have 9.5 HP ones on asphalt. ask the guys what kind of karts they are. next time dont hold back the top gear is fun:)

Next time pedal to the mental. Too many yellow flags got confused when to race and not too. I checked my time sheet and they have 6HP on those Karts, 200cc. #### I want to go back .... I still feel it, I must go back. Do you use grip driving?

Okay the're two types of driving techniques that I know. Drift and grip driving. Grip is when (like you said) try to minimize drift. What FF and AWD drivers have to do. You can still drift FF and AWD just is less effective. That's what I meant. Those Karts seemed to favor grip style. That's what I think. Ask the people here they will tell you in more detail.

What's control stock karts? Which class is the fastest anyway?

Not even close.. carts drift like crazy.. I used to go to those races all the time. Pavement or dirt, almost always drift. (except that one time they were at Hickory motor speedway.. they were running about 90 mph. crazy in a gocat that is 2 inches off the ground...

there are more classes of cart than you can really talk about in a in one thread. the fastest are the two-stroke lay down carts. My roomie told me they run about 160-170 mph around superspeedways. Someone has died in that class every year since it was started. Very dangerous. and their carts started with a 5 hp motor but had more like 30 after mods.. they changed EVERYTHING in those engines..

I only say ?seemed?. I would think to get the most out the kart you need grip style. There is a difference between powersliding and drifting. I can't make solid conclusion after only one day of kart racing. #### 160mph in a 2 cyl? Sound like fun were do I sign?

are those karts set up left foot braking style with gas on the right brake on the left? That's how the cheap-o karts are near me. I've never driven karts with too much power, and CURSE YOU for getting an upper hand. I guess this means when I beat you it'll be like a KO win oh yeah, and on top of that I gotta beat my best friend too. on top of that, you do too
can't wait till saturday. I should be there around 4pm (I'm skipping a hockey practice for this.)

grip driving is more suited to lower power karts because those karts are a bitch to power up again. one trick i use which will kill the clutch though (do it on your last lap) is keep your foot on the gas while your breaking as soon as your straight again let go your rpms are already up and its like slingshotting yourslef.

Not two cyl, two stroke. Referring to how the engine runs. A typical engine (most cars), is four stroke. Gas explodes, exhaust pushed out, fuel pulled in, fuel compressed, gas explodes, ex- you get the point. Two stroke does this in two rounds, Explode, compress, explode, etc. I don't know how they deal with bringing in fuel and getting rid of exhaust, though.

some of the two-stroke carts actually have 2 engines two.. one on both sides of your head.

I personaly like Ridge Racer 5, drifting power all the way, and i think the level 2 drift car is a s13, its leet core, best most ADDICTING racing game ever, in fact, i might just have to go out to the arcade now and play it

2 strokers i think have one cycle intake as soon as the valve closes spark then the new air/fuel replaces the old stuff. just a guess.

12-28-2001, 03:30 PM
I hate to be all anal, but you don't want the gas to explode, you want it too burn. There's a difference, exploding gas is what people call pinging.
