Garrett GT2876R
I'm selling my turbo because it is not adequate for my application. I bought this turbo almost new with less than 3K in it. there is no in&out or side2side shaftplay. Turbo looks practically new; the green line on the compressor wheel , which indicates new turbo, is still visible. The turbo has a .64 exhaust housing with the common t2 inlet flange, the 5 bolt outlet flange and the regular internal wastegate. This turbo retails for $1400 and it is rated at +450hp, 50 more hp than the popular gt2871r. For a little more info about the turbo here is a link to ATP turbo with the specs and retail price.

Thanks man :rawk:

It's a great turbo and all my researched told me it was perfect for me, but before slapping it in I talked to my tuner and he said that here in our altitude and ambient they're not as efficient as they would be somewhere else. :(

from my understanding, The hot side is the same thing as the 2871, but compressor side is a tad bigger, that is why the 76 is capable of a little more hp than the 71, but it does has a tad of more lag. here are the specs from atp
.
Gt2871r

Turbine
-Wheel: 53.85mm w/ 76 trim
-Housing: .64 ar

Compressor
-Wheel: 71mm w/ 56 trim
-Housing: .60 ar

Gt2876r
Turbine

Compressor

my question is more along the lines of, what do i have to change to swap this in in place of my 2871?

Nothing but the intake pipe setup. Because the GT2876r utilize a 4" inlet. And the GT2871r utilize either the 2-bolt(oem) or the 3" inlet.

Ohh i see. it's all on the compressor housing, exhaust side is exactly the same.
the 2876 has a 4" inlet with a 2.5" outlet. and u would need a new intake or at least a new coupler and u proably would have to modify the hot pipe a little i believe the 2871 has a 2" outlet. but honestly, if ur tring to get more hp i would sujest going with a bigger turbo, the benefits from upgrading ur 71 to the 76 are not to much for an $800 investment. but if ur trying to replace a bad turbo well this is the way to go lol.

ok gotcha. mine is still running strong. i think if i do decide to bigger, i too will be going with a t3 top mount like a 3076.

yeah man. do good research before u buy, talk to people around ur area who really know about the topic. contemplate every possibility and after ur completely sure about the direction ur gonna go. go for it. :rawk: good luck with ur plans :) and lmk how that worked for u

well it WAS my original idea to go with the 3076. the only thing that stopped me was that original owner had already bought complete exhaust for it and it was easier to stay with the bottom mount setup. i think i want top mount soon though... ill definitely post up when i make the change though. :)

top mount is sexy. but quit expensive a short way of getting big power is going with a t2 flange gt3076r, atp offer this option and i believe there is a few of them fs on here right now.

its typical though - lots of people WANT to do these things, but lots of people would rather talk about it than actually spend the money on a high end part like this.

I wonder if this would fit in a bottom mount stock SR manifold? That 4" pipe might not clear the engine mount bracket and the AC compressor. Good price!

great turbo! I set the world record for gt28's with 240s with a gt2876r .86 internal wastegate running a 10.79 1/4 mile. Bump for nice powerful turbo
