Whats up guys i just wanted to see if i can get some advice because i just got My S13 hatch with a swap engine and tranny and i beleive that radiator fluid is getting into the engine because white smoke is coming out from the exaust and i was wondering if i should just go on and rebuild the engine or if i should do as a mechanic told me to just get another engine that way i dont waste more money on rebuilding the old one . I hope u guys to help me out and if the best way to go is rebuild the engine if i could get alot of advice on getting it started , with some tips, tricks, and help on how to do the timing chain since i do not know how to do that but would like to learn.

get the factory service manual. It will tell you specifications on everything, how to breakdown and rebuild the engine. As long as you follow it you should be fine. Its not hard to do. After you get the FSM and read through it then come back and ask questions. I'm sure you will find it alot easier than you think.

Use this as a reference, but like the post above says use the FSM as it will give you the scope and details on how to disassemble and assemble the engine.

Okay sounds good i will do that . And to get one my best bet would be to go to nissan dealer right? And what year manual would i need? Because i know that the ka24De is not the original engine for the car.

89-90 = ka24e
91-94 = ka24de

ebaying a FSM is the cheapest way to get a bible.
