hey i just got a 240 and near the battery along the fender there are two connectors both seem to be the same.. either both female or male connector.. not sure but bottom line is there is a paper clip that is creating a connection. and with out it the car doesnt even turn over.. i put two clips in it for each side and it starts but makes scratchy sounds almost like the scratchy sound the starter makes if u turn the key while the car is on.. so i left it with one clip (originally had 1 clip) so i have no idea if these were suppose to connect or connect to something.. any suggestions will help.. thanks
Edit* pretty sure its the starter relay thats missing :P.

it's for automatic bullshit. In the easiest way to say it, the wires that the paperclip completes the connection needs to be there. If you want to make it look pretty, cut the connector off the end and solder the two wires together.

Was the car originally auto and converted to manual?

Is not your starter relay genius, think about it. "Car starts when one has a paper clip in it" there must be another starter relay then huh? Listen to ONI and have a car that starts all the time.

because all a relay is a hardwired connection that bridges/switches two or more wires?

That Relay was the Clutch InterLock relay, it could have been bypassed for several reasons, Remote Start, broken button on clutch, ETC.

Hmmmm that's weird lol.. If you search clutch Interlock relay you get the same result as searching starter relay... Same thing just more complex name I guess. But anyway I threw a starter relay or whatever it's called as it works better now
