View Full Version : Intalling SR swap, no power to fuel or gauges

I think we are missing a ground or have something crossed somewhere. The car will crank over fine however the fuel pump won't kick on nor do I get any power to my gauges. It says the car is empty of fuel and none of the other lights on the dash come on the left hand side (like the check engine light is supposed to be on when in the on position.) Also the light on the dash for brake is on constantly, doesn't matter if they key is in or not. I also have no power to my heater fan but I do have lights and windows. The EGI relay clicks as well

Anyone have a clue where we may have missed a ground or crossed something? I did the splicing of the wires exactly like the write up on nico club showed, I even soldered the wires, shrank wrapped them and then electrical taped the loom back up.

I'm going to retrace the wiring harnass to see if we missed something, all fuses look good

Did you have the gauge cluster out of the car? It's possible you have the harness in backwards.

The gauge cluster was never removed

It sounds to me like you didn't do the wiring exactly right. Post up some photos of what you did.

Sr has no check engine light. You check codes straight from ecu, not cluster.

Sounds like alternator 75amp fuse is out.
Make sure your alternator is wired up properly.
Does your clock and radio work?
Did you wire up swap yourself?
Brake light being on constant is either you unplugged harness from resevoir or you didn't hook up a ground.

Alright so today I got the thing to fire up, found a ground that wasn't on. Also I left the tan plug plugged in and left the white plug under the dash unplugged and the gauges seem to work fine. The check engine light etc doesn't light up when the key is in the ON position with the engine off like it normally does with all cars, however could this be due to the wiring setup for the bare minimum, ie no ac, no consult port, etc.

Again I will say this:

Sr has no check engine light. You check codes straight from ecu, not cluster.

^^^The fuck are you talking about? I've pulled codes from my SR via looking at my check engine light on the dash. If its wired right, the dash light will work.

My redtop on #62 ecu does not have a check engine. First I thought harness, replaced it with a wiring specialties and still nothing. Researched and found this:

no check engine!!!!!!!!!! : SR20DET Forum (rear-drive) (http://forums.nicoclub.com/no-check-engine-t396062.html)
Third post down on second link confirms s13 sr has no pin for CEL, maybe newer blacktop. But for sure not the old ones.

So before you start talking shit I suggest you research.

Not that the #62 doesn't.

I just installed a WS harness and my check engine light works.

My choice of wording made it sound like all SR's had no CEL, just my old redtop doesn't. My mistake.

But back on topic.. What sr is the OP running?
