Racing Pedals

Okay, I'd rather know some info on this before looking like an idiot n screwing it up. I'm thinking it would chip off pretty easily if I painted my pedals (similar to the type in the picture). Just let me know how it would probably go though cuz I'd rather have my pedals all black. If not, I'll just fork over the $ n get me the razo ones I'd want. Here's the quickest pic of I could find of the type I'm talking about:

I personally like the sivler pedas, thats what I had in mine.
But you could probably get the paint to stick if you primed it and used good paint and maybe a clear protective coat
Make sure to sand it or something though because your foot'll probably slip off of it if it has smooth paint on it.

i was thinking maybe just taking off the rubber grip parts then super gluing them back on, but i don't even know if it's worth the hassle or not.
