Slave cylinder new, but leaking hose fitting to the cylinder when bleeding

so i got a new master and slave cylinder, i was bleeding it and it leaks where the hose meets the slave cylinder, just wondering who had this problem? will buying a new hose fix this? dont want to have to order it, but maybe im missing something? does a washer go between? my petal is realllllllllllllllllllllllly soft. basicalyy my clutch feels like my gas petal.

Always use a brand new copper washer. Don't re-use the old one.

if it leaks, there is obviously a problem. i don't remember there being a copper crush washer on mine tho. your pedal is never going to firm up if you're losing fluid. fix the leak first, THEN bleed it.

yea thats what i thought, i never had a copper washer on my clutch fitting. maybe there should be one? my petal has been soft ever since i got the car. thought maybe my clutch was just bad

If you clean the threads good of all brake fluid you can prevent leaks by putting a little bit of red thread locker on the line. I had to do this once when I was in a pinch and didn't have the copper washer on hand.

I would highly recommend a copper washer though.

isnt red strong? would blue be better in removal later on? i wil pick up a washer tomorrow
