Cities to avoid in CA

I'm sure that many of you know that if a cop pulls you over and finds that you have an SR20 your car will be impounded. I also know that search and seizures are not legal without probable cause. but probable cause is a very thin line. cops can easily make up something if u r in ur car n on public road. if u look like a description of a criminal, affiliated with criminals, known street racers, or affiliated with street racers they can easily get a probable cause. o ya n racial profiling or car profiling does still happen. so what general areas would you say that cops are dicks and pull you over to check out your car? and what places will most cops know to look for aan SR20. I know that one place I have heard of is Rowland heights. I have also heard that cops really crack down near diamond plaza in rowland heights. any other places you guys know of?

I believe the CHP's have a little book full of pictures and descriptions of motors that are illegal. Motors such as 1JZ's and SR's.. Diamond Plaza/Life Plaza is a hot spot for "modified" cars to meet up. As far as that goes, I've only heard of one person getting popped w/ an illegal motor ticket whatever. His car wasn't impounded, but I believe he has a date w/ the state ref.

Common sense says: Being nice does go a long way. Don't dick the cop, be compliant but don't kiss ass.


Pasadena cops are pretty strict.
Glendora cops are strict.
Sylmar cops.. they are unforgiving!
Ontario cops.. they'll have no problem impounding your car for anything..
CHP.. they know their shiEt.. I've seen 'em reading Super Street at 7-11

CA covers a wide range, cities to avoid could go from the bay area to certain cities in l.a as listed to san diego.

as long as your car doesn't have sparkly sparkly bling bling color, 5" exhaust or over 100 decibels, big fat gauges for everything, 20" spinners, slammed car with .5" to the ground, spoilers and body kit that looks ghey... basically, keep the car stock looking, drive normally and they usually won't hassle you

I live in Hawthorne, south bay area of LA. In my general area which would be Hawthorne cops , Inglewood, Gardena, and Lawndale sheriff don't really give a rats ass. They are busy dealing with real crime. If they do mess with cars it's the " under construction" show cars with shitty sound system, manual air ride system, 500 dollar stolen 20" rims, Bimmer and benzo conversion, or someshit like that. Theres not too much of a jdm scene in this part of L.A. If you go south east a bit you hit torrance, carson, and then long beach. Long beach isn't that bad because I go to csulb and that's the only part of long beach I'm in. Carson sheriff's and Torrance Cops are extremely aware of the import scene. In fact I heard that torrance has a special task force that deals with imports and vehicle code violations or someshit to that extent. You really need to watch out in torrance. Carson sheriff's know what is going on because the street racing scene was really big out there. They are doing a real good job on cracking down for the past few years. Both torrance and carson are aware of engine swaps on Honda's mainly, but I'm sure they are aware of other noticible modifications such as bov's, fmic's, and of course exhaust. LAPD is in the compton, sanpedro, harbor city area. They know a little about whats going on, but again they are dealing with real crime because those aren't the best areas to live in or with the bling blang show cars with thier tv's and shit.

dunno about the torrance one...I go there alot and been pulled over once but the cop was nice and was joking around with me but didn't give me a ticket. My friend works there and has a heavily modified vehicle. I've never experienced it there...Signal auto is out in Torrance and I'm sure there are many modified cars going in and out of there but I don't think they have any problems.

I've heard many stories in torrance both good and bad. I myself have seen a few bad ones. Torrance crossroads was hot for awhile and they were cracking down on alot of things. I don't know how it is now, but some torranc epd cops are cool and others are fags. I remember one night I was out at torrance crossroads and they were waiting in the parking lot scoping cars out. This one guy in a heavily modified is300, it's gold and sounds damn right mean, was pulled over and I think got a fix it ticket. Another one in a eg civic hatch had the same thing happen to him and they made him pop his hood and everything. I left before I saw what had happned. This was last summer. I don;t know how the situation is now in torrance because I am mostly in the ghetto.

I would agree to avoid cali all together, there are dick cops and not so dick cops, and they are all mixed together all over, I had some good ones and bad ones during the same time in getting pulled over....

Just take the spark cover off the SR that reads "Turbo intercooled" and it may help out a lot. Just a thought though may or may not save your ass.
