SE-R to S13 brembo front brake swap

I've been working on this for awhile. I bought some. they are straight bolt on. you dont have to switch your hubs for a five lug conversion like the 300zx. I have the generation 2 SE-R Spec-V calipers which are gold (04-06). The only thing you have to worry about it if they are going to fit your rims. SE-R Spec -V rims are a +47 offset to clear the calipers for fitting. I couldnt tell you about the SE-R (red) calipers and fitting. But the rims on those are a +45 offset. I'd like to give you more information but my rims will not clear them... so FAIL for me.. for now..

the offset doesnt make the clear the calipers, the spoke design does.

I have the gold brembos. I plan on getting 17x9 +25 rota grid offroads. I never took wheel offset into consideration.

What rear brakes are you running?

i heard the offset is what is made to clear because it makes the rim wider off of the hub for the fitment of the caliper. Im runnig stock for now.. looking into STI rear. I was also considering those same rims in hyper black!

Do you have any pictures of your brakes set up? And what offset were the rims you tried to use?

the gold brembos do bolt on to s13's. i have to assume that they are about same size as z32 4 pot calipers so they should clear the same wheels if that helps. i also have been thinking about these gold brembo's too. they would look really sexy under black or dark colored wheels.

i have them on my s14 rotor size is 305mm x 22mm 4 x 114.5
calipers are a good bit bigger than z32 but use a thinner rotor and they wont clear 16 inch stock se's like the z32 brakes will fyi...

I'm just mainly worried about brake bias. The brembos will have significant braking power over z32s and obviously stocks. (which I have...) I don't really understand how different master cylinders and stuff can alter the braking.

The z32 brake master cylinder will help with the pedal feel since it is a larger brake master cylinder vs the oem s13/s14 one. As for the Sentra brembos, the caliper bolts right up with out any modifications. You will need to re-drill rotors if your running 5-lug. Great if your 4-lug since you will need no mods besides larger rims to clear the caliper. The rotor is larger in diameter than z32 but is quite a bit thinner than a z32 rotor. As for camping power, I didn't really notice a difference between the z32 and sentra brembo when I had them briefly on my car way back when it was a new brake option. It does look nice and is a cheap alternative to the evo/sti/350z setup if you want the brembo bling factor.

Honestly all the OEM brembo setups are really over kill for 90% of the drivers on this forum. Its mainly for bling factor if you got money to throw on it. Z32 works great, calipers are inexpensive, cheap to rebuild, rotors are dirt cheap at under $50 a rotor and last but not least z32 alum calipers are just way lighter (if you care about un-sprung weight on your suspension).
