Hi, can anyone recommend a good repair shop for my '92 240sx near Charlotte, NC? I am thinking of doing a SR20DET swap.

Really? I posted on here that they wanted $5,000 for an S13 SR into my FB with auto->man. swap done....and everybody said that was 1200-1500 over priced? I thought the SR was more affordable then that....hence why I have decided on going after KA build-up

Great info guys! I am new to Charlotte, and I am glad to see that we've got an active 240sx group in the Carolina's! I am heading up to NYC to pick up my '92 240sx std 5 speed this weekend. Can't wait!

I thought $5k is the going rate for a stock install. Auto --> 5spd is $400.

but they are in FL.

For that kind of money, you get the engine, Walbro fuel pump, greddy downpipe, gauges, Greddy BOV, boost controller, 3" catback exhaust, WORKING a/c & power steering, etc. Everything but the intercooler.

But VA is closer, and Fort Mill, SC is closer still. Artnmotinracer, I could not get the number from online yellow pages. If you can get it, that would be great!

Weitau... message me on AIM if you have any questions. My AIM screen name is AadosX. I was in the exact same position as you before... looking at that XAT site, etc. First of all, anyone will get your A/C working, and should be able to. You're right about the auto->5 speed conversion price, but its SO much better/easier to start out with a 5 speed. Don't expect the numbers that XAT posts though... because 1) that's with 14 psi, which is very high for the stock setup, and 2) they're still overrated. I'd say go with JYG Customs, but whatever you do, DON'T go with Augusta Customs, in Augusta, GA!!! Batlground Engineering in Atlanta is also supposed to be excellent. www.batlground.com Good luck man!

Ghettokracker, $5000 would be around the price for the swap, auto-5spd conversion, new clutch, fmic kit, and may a couple of other things. As for the post on Battleground Engineering... i've heard some complaints.

I'm in charlotte..

P1 are some great guys, and Bob has a ton of experience with SR20DE's from sentra's from what I hear. I think they've only done a couple sr20 swaps though.

I would definately suggest hitting up carolinanissans.com.

is P1 the same as Caronlia Nissan? If so, i wouldn't suggest someone whos only done a couple of swaps. IMO.

Check out www.boost-solutions.com in Suwanee, GA. The number is 770 904 2644. They know what they are doing down there. Also check out their Evo 8! That thing is sick as hell. I hear they have big plans for an S14 that they have. They say that the SR20DET is not enough..........
