hey peeps, so the european guy here had to go international for some advice :S recently got an s13 (ca18det) when i got it i all ready had an engine that had been rebuild by sparkworks in UK, hy question is how ever now i have to put in the engine as the old engine is gone and all i have left are som tuner bits, its got a wallbro fuel pump, gt2860 rs turbo(64 trim), 444 injectors, fmic, free flow airfilter, hks ssqv bov, Z32 maf and free flow 3" exhaust...and i have to break in the engine :S will the tuning bits kill the engine during break in? i have an aem tru boost device to make sure the boost stays low of course but still im not too fond of it all :S and i cant tune it in till the engine is broken in either due to the revs when they tune it in... please need some advice guys will i have to go and source all the original parts to break in the engine?
and sorry for my poor english :P

Break In Secrets--How To Break In New Motorcycle and Car Engines For More Power (http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm)
interesting read. its truth. I wouldnt worry too much. you wont kill it.
i would however. run low low boost. 5 or so psi. with a simple fuel correction map for the larger fuel injectors so that the motor runs close to factory output. you should be set. its IMO the best advice you can get.. no special tuning needs done for fuel injector size increases. its simple math. with my ems it was a matter of telling it what size injectors they were and input the lag time differential..

I'd probably get bigger injectors first...I imagine you'd max out those injectors real quick.

These injectors are safe for a
[email protected], they get around 80% duty.
Your aem truboost cant give lower boost than what the actuator deliver so forget it.
No problem with breaking in as long as it is correctly mapped (standard mapping wont work with Z32 maf and 444 injectors, fueling and timing will be all over the place). It will work with standard injectors and MAF as long as you dont floor it. So dont floor it.
Also dont believe what the previous link said, it is true ONLY if you need to break in rings and if you dont care how long your engine lives. That article is the biggest can of worm someone could open (although it still is battling for 1st place with "which oil to use" )

cheers ill get standard injectors and maf then :) anyhow im not planning on running much more than standard boost even after the break in, 10-12 psi should do fine for my moderate goals :) cheers for the info though and yeh im not planin on floring it till after a 1500 KM break in period ;)
