1) How exactly do I torque the top nuts on the coilovers? Their TEIN HE, and I'm told that they aren't torqued from the factory. I think the backs are easy, but please confirm. But on the front ones, when I turned the top nut, the whole coilover shaft turned. I eventually found out that if I hold the very top spring seat with the tool supplied with the coilover, it would let me tighten it. Is this right?

2) Do the coilovers need to settle before I get the car aligned?

3) Which direction do the coilovers need to be installed in? On the rears, part of the rubber bushing thing on the bottom stuck out further on one side than the other. I ended up putting the side that stuck out further in the direction of the brake, the opposite side of where the bolt screws in, is this right? Also, in the fronts how are they supposed to be?

1. that is the correct way to do it.
2. not sure, but make sure you do take it to someone who knows thier stuff.
3. you did them the correct way. trumpet thing facing the brake. the fronts should be labled (bottom of the coil over) either FL or FR... front left and front right. left = driver side, right = passenger.

Is this true with all coilovers?

Hrmm, that way to tighten them worked on the front, but I can't figure out how to tighten the rear ones... there's nothing that you can hold to keep the rod from turning... help!?

Yes, let the coilovers settle before you take them in for an alignment. If you don't you'll be getting the alignment for the specs of the susp. before it settles and after it does settle your alignment will be off. :)
