when i turn the wheel to left and turn a little on the fast side i get a popping sound. it sounds like its coming from the back but i cant tell. when i go over bumps i get a knock kinda sound and it sounds like its coming from where the rear struts are bolted in. i dont have a lot of money right now so i can go around replacing things and hope that it will fix it. could you guys give me some ideas of what it could be and why you say that part. i dont know much about suspension so this is a learning thing for me as well. i pretty much know everything needs to be replaced as the body has over 200k miles on it. if i didnt give enough info ask and ill answer the best that i can. thanks in advance.

I'd start by checking the struts. Make sure your springs aren't broken (I've seen the mount that holds the spring break, and I've seen the spring itself break) also if you have lowering springs I've seen those become an issue. In the rear, subframe bushings/collars are common to go bad, but usually makes a clunking on acceleration or braking. It could also be one of the few suspension components... You've got the lower control arm and a couple rods in the back that have bushings too, just get a flashlight and see if any of the rubber is cracking or breaking. Hope it helps, let us know when you figure out what it is!

Does it pop when you brake hard?

Yeah check your bushings. My front tension rod bushings are tore up, makes a nice big clunk when parallel parking or tight turns in a parking lot.
