Just thought I would show you guys what I've been up to in the UK with my car, which I've had since 2004. Just gonna skim over the early years to get you up to date.

I bought a totally standard RS13 with a broken engine. Fixed with a forged build, looked a bit like this
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/7milesback.jpg
The usual mods ensued, adjustable arms, guages etc
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/allin.jpg
Looked a bit like this by then

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/jdfronts.jpg
Then in '07 like this

Got some brake upgrades

Surprised how easy the material is to work with.

Got myself a rear cage from fabricage, although there was a bit of welding to get on with before I got it in.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/drivers.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Passengerweld.jpg
As I had basically plated the inside from the welding I used the plates supplied on the outside of the car. I only have this pic of it fitted, will get a better one of everything back in place soon.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/cage.jpg
**Quickly runs outside**
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/DSC00322.jpg
I also finally booked my car in for its first offical drift day at the pod, which was most enjoyable. I only had about half hour of track time though before I ended up killing my clutch off due to getting a bit happy with the clutch kicking around the slower corners. Not all bad though as I still got a few rides in other peoples cars to make up for it. As I was only out for a short while, so have yet to find any actions shots of me :( Instead have a broken down shot
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Deaded.jpg
I managed to get the car down to the garage yesterday and sourced a paddle clutch from a friends car at a reasonable price as he is going SR
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/dEADFIND.jpg
Organic plates for the fail :( One side actually looked quite usable
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/OTHERSIDE.jpg
but on the clutch cover side, it was a different story
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/DEADPLATE.jpg
Of course all the hair like stuff that came from the clutch was re used and went to a good home :D
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/dALHAIR.jpg
The paddle plate to go on, only half a seasons of bdc use, bargain :wack:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/NEWCLTCH.jpg
My old free gearbox also started to fail as it stopped going in reverse and jumping out of 5th so that got swapped out for a free box :)
All was well on the drive home so, so far, so good. Clutch isnt really much more snatchy than the max street tbh, just should hopefully last a bit longer when abused.

Not a great deal has been changed recently, just been enjoying the fruits of my labour. The car now has Nistune fitted and mapped to 380bhp at 1.7 bar with a 8k redline which is nice when is not cold/wet/snowy/icey :D

I managed to pick up another bride seat a few months ago which I thought was exactly the same as my current seat until I had them next to each other. I found that the new seat has slightly deeper side bolsters on thew base so have used it as my new drivers seat and stuck my old one on the passenger side. Luckily one of my crimbo presents was a pair of bride rails, so I got them in.

Not massivley different at the top
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/bridetop.jpg
but you can see it has a much deeper base
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/bridebottom.jpg

I have taken a few measures to make it more snow friendly, like fitting some 205's on the rear, lowering tyre pressures and loading up the boot with many tools for traction :)

And there we are. All was well.... for about 20k then I knocked the end out again so.....

Had a few tales of woe with the car recently:(. First off I thought I had done my gaskets but on closer inspection I found this cack in my mani
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Manicrack.jpg
So got it wleded up, no biggie, looks alot tidier on the inside :D
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Maniweld.jpg

So there I am, on my way to pod, get to about Luton and it sounds like a boost pipe has popped off. Again, no biggie. I will just pull of the motorway and pop it back on....... I thought :wack:.......
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/boostpiperip.jpg
Yet again I thought to myself not the end of the world it all can be fixed!

Then, on the way home from a SX meet I thought my tappets were sounding a bit noisier than usual :D After switching the stereo off a having a good listen I was fearful it may not be my tappets after all :( I was after a second opinion to confirm, so headed straight down to my pal, and I received the second opinion :(

While the engine is out I will take the opportunity to refresh the engine bay and make a few alterations here and there. Lost of rust that had been sealed and painted over a couple of years ago was now starting to look less tidy so I am going to go mad it and really go to town in the hope it may hold out a bit longer till next time:)

Got the engine ready to go
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Enginepull.jpg
These are the strut tops that need attention
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/struttoprustside.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/struttoprust.jpg
Got the wings off
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/IMG_7412.jpg
Got to work removing the upper plates
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Strutplatehalf.jpg
Leaving this which will get tidied with a bit of grinding and rust teatment
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/struttopplate.jpg
I also have a bit of rust on my firewall which I sealed over many years ago, this will get sorted propperly this time
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/firewallrust.jpg
Going to sort out the inner wings and re route the wing wiring loom once and for all
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/IMG_7413.jpg
And this is where we are with the a strip down
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/empteybay.jpg
Stay tuned.

Ground a bit more sealer off....found a bit more rust
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/morerustfound.jpg
As you can see, the panel seams have opened up. I managed to get a dremel disc in where I could and gave them a clean up. Will then treat them bash them back and weld up, or cut if really bad.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/seamopen.jpg
The worst bit on the other side got cut out
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/rustcut.jpg
Then went round and ground the welds back in a few places to make it tidier
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Weldgrind.jpg
After all the grinding it was looking a bit dirty in there
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Dirtybay-1.jpg
So out came the first of stage of the treatment
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Marineclean.jpg
Directions say to rinse with water after, so gave the bay a good hose down and was left with this
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/jetwash2.jpg
Nice hot day, so it was dry in no time. Then on to the next stage
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/metalready.jpg
As you can see it worked well and sat in the open seams
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/cleanup.jpg
Then
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/zinc.jpg
Weld through Zinc primer so we can cover bare metal and still continue with the metalwork.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/primeinside.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/primersidea.jpg
And where I got upto
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/primerfront.jpg
Then on the way home I dropped my head off to get checked out, skimmed and the ports matched to each other.
Got more welding done
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nsmakeing.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nsinnerhalf.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nsinsidepregind.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nsdinsidepregrinda.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nsweldee.jpg
and the tidy up
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/fnsfixed.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nsdoneinnerprime.jpg
Got started on the other side
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/oscut.jpg#
The more eagle eyed of you may have noted a few choice cuts on my inner arch, like this
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/tubstar.jpg
As you can see my inner arch had a bit of contact and ahad already been beaten with a hammer a few times
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/innerrub.jpg
Its no big issue, but I thought I would get it sorted once and for all
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/innerremoved.jpg

Inside
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/oschasiswelded.jpg trimmed the lip in the inside of the chassis leg for more clearance and rewelded
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/ossticjwing.jpg
And back to the nearside

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/napaint.jpg
Cut the other wing out
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/wingout.jpg
While Dal was finishing off the welding I turned my attention to the firewal
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/firwallrustcut.jpg
If you look closesly you can see its 3 layer construction
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/3layer.jpg
Lick of primer for the meanwhile, but will get this stiched too
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/seamcut.jpg
Made it rolling again
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/done.jpg

got the arches tacked in place, started off making some templates from cardboard
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/cardboardtemplate.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/temptransfer.jpg

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nstack.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/tackleft.jpg
You can see it sits proud at the mo. When its fully welded it will be done from the inside and then grind down the lip to match
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/lip.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/tackall.jpg

The top of the turrets had been repaired a few years back, not the best job in the world
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/tooberemoved.jpg
so did them again

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nscutplate.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nsplated.jpg

I cracked on with the head. Masked the valves so I could flip it without all the valves falling out

New valve stems in
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/headstem.jpg
Spring seats
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/headspringseats.jpg
Then got the Tomei valve springs in
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/headtomeiout.jpg

Sorted
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Headvalvesin.jpg
In Dals infinate wisdom he decided it was best to get the dash out the way, which left us this to stare at
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/dashout.jpg
It did enable us to finally get the other loom out though, finally!
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/loomout-1.jpg
Knocked up some templates to block the little triangle cut outs
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/cardcutout.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nsplate1.jpg
Hard at work :notworthy:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/IMG_7720.jpg
Rust inside the ns arch got cut and plated
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/rustcut-1.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/nspustplatefar.jpg
Dal also decided he didn't like how the inside of my arches looked and knocked up a plate for the front while he was finishing the last bit of stiching in there
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/dalplate.jpg
Back inside
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/drem.jpg
Thes holes were no longer needed either
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/holes.jpg
So plugged them with weld
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/allholesfilled.jpg
Just turned our attention to the firewall and spotted a blanking plate for some holes when the welder ran of gas :annoyed:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/spot.jpg
We managed to fit the other turret bar in and you can still remove the servo, bonus! Its quite a tidy solution and I'm very pleased with it
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/bardrivers1.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/drivebarclose.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/baydoneprime.jpg
So, she is all primed up and ready for the next stage
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/Por15.jpg
Dal Kindly lent me his un-used spray gun, which was a first time for me not using a rattle can.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/paintgun.jpg
There were a spots of rain in the air today and I would be painting outside so also broke out the ghazebo
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/ghaz.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/bayporfront.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/porbaybehind.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/poredns.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/poredos.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/poredupshot.jpg
It was a nice experience using a gun, got much better coverage  and I only used half the tin of por 15 and I wasn't exactly being sparing with it. I'd done a bit of net reading about spraying por15 and I did see that some people thinned it with solvent (around 5-10%) but it worked fine for me so had plenty of solvent to clean the gun up with after.

Back on the wheels
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/backonwheel.jpg
As it is still removeable I took the servo home with me tonight
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/primeservo.jpg

Next on the list is seam sealer. Now when you see how nissan applied it they seem to have put it on before the paint. Seam sealer is good as it stops the rust spreading, but it also seems to help rust build underneath it which is not so good. So hopefully now we have a coating of zinc primer and por 15 under it I'm hoping it should give the best of both worlds, but I guess we will have to check back in a few years and see.

After that a skim of filler primer here and there to smooth some surfaces then on with the colour :) I do have some Chassis Coat black I could put on too but think these layers should be plenty good at keeping the tin worm at bay.

I went round the car with sealer and got most of the welds covered. A few were left bare so the workmanship can be seen :)

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/insidearchsealed.jpg
Once that was left to go off for a while I splashed some filler primer on mainly the tubs. Lots of sanding ensued to make them more appealing. I'm not going to smooth the whole bay or Id be there for ever. Just areas where you eyes are drawn, tubs, firewall, etc. Areas that didn't get primed got rubbed down with 600 for a decent key. Unfourtunately I used all the filler primer on the front, so decided just to get the front of the bay from the tubs forward painted. Then come back to work on the back with more supplies another day :)

I spent ages trying to find a master cylinder from a R33 GTR (bm57) as its slightly larger than a Z32's 1" bm50. I couldn't seem to source one anywhere and was running out of time so I ended up bidding on a normal Z32 one on the bay which I won, and it turned up the other day :)

Firstly, appologies for phone cam pics. My sis has reclaimed her SLR so doubt it will be back anytime soon :( Anyway, on with the update:

Clutch Stuff fitted and braided brake lines run in the bay
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/clucthnlines.jpg
Ran the line low in the bay to hide it when the engine is in, may still add a bit of sheilding by the exhaust.

My original crank didn't make it :(. I thought it was good for one more grind but apparently not. Personally I think they just got a bit happy on the lathe while regrinding and ovalised it :( No bother though as I managed to get another, came from a 167k old CA and still on standard sizes! Lets see how long the miracle crank will last in my engine :D

I had plenty of time on my hand so polished the crank journals as best I could with 2000 grade paper and some polishing compound. They came up really well.

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/crankpolishclose.jpg
Unfourtunately it wont be balanced like my last one, but hopefully the headwork should offset some of the differences.

Finally we can get on with building the engine!

From the top
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/splittop.jpg
its a bit further on than that. I attempted to get more shots, but my phone is crap and its dark so I ended up with some indistinguishable black images :wack: Basically it has been mounted to the chassis rails, strengthened by bolting metal tubes to it in a few places and attached to the oil cooler. Then the car was stuck on a level surface and checked it was pointing in the right direction with spirit levels and tape measurements. A few spacers here and there, refit the bumper then fixed to the bottom edge of the bumper to the splitter and jobs a good un  Its pretty damn solid now so should be quite effective.

Then went round and made sure a the little bits are done, skirts back on, she's good to go :)

Been doing a few bits and bobs. The brake lines developed a bit of a leak and messed up a bit of the paintwork in the engine bay. Mostly down low out of sight, but still annoying. They have been removed and refitted with some ptfe tape and loctite and so far so good.

Rear bumper bits have been painted for ages now, still need a polish up

They are 8.5J and a 9.5J, but that will be changing. Were sold as an et35, but I want to do a bit of test fitting on the weekend just to be sure as its not stamped anywhere. Would be good to do this before I order some new lips. Can't decide on the colour of the centres, black or Gunmetal would be the safe option, or possibly choclate brown, or something else? Will have to mull it over a bit more first.

Did black test too
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/blacktestfit.jpg
Remember these are just for colour checking not fitment.

Talking of which, I got a email back from titanium touch. I asked them if they can step the rears up to an 18 so I can run a 17/18 stagger, and they said yes it is possible, but does ristrict the size of the lip to 4.75" for stainless and 5.25" for alloy. I'm thinking to go for a 5" lip, so they will have to be alloy or possibly bring it down to a 11.5J and keep it stainless, hmmm.

And the front
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/frontfit.jpg
All went smoothly, not rusty bolts or nuts, which was nice :)

Only driven home so far, but even at slow speeds it feels a bit flatter in the corners, but definately a bit more settled in fast sweepers now too which is nice. I'm happy with them so far and a worthwhile upgrade.

Got some front skyline calipers the other month and the rebuild kit turned up yesterday so will begin refurbing and painting them, they currently look like this.

Popped the pistons out.

Just need to do the lettering black. There is a bit of an overhang on the outside of the disc I'm guessing a 330mm disc would take up, but it will do for now.

The wheel progress had to be put on hold, as my clutch started slipping :( Decided to go for a Competition Clutch with a standard flywheel that had been lightened.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/fly.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/clutch_zpsa49bf6f5.jpg

As usual, nothing is simple with my car. The seized release bearing had ended up making a bit of a mess of the input shaft :(
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/knackered_zps2a8a2a84.jpg

So another box was gotten hold of too. Its all back together now, but I think I may well have damaged my Nismo slave as the biting point is moving about as it pleases and driving home it was not re engaging the clutch instantly a few times too :(

Upon stripping it down both seals had got damaged, so I swapped out the slave for a normal one. Pedal feels lighter than with the old clutch so its no biggie, but it would be nice to get hold of a rebuild kit for the Nismo one. Speaking of the clutch, its still slipping on boost. Apparently they do need "bedding in for up to 1000 miles" which is what I was told from where I bought it. Guess I'll just have to get some more miles down and see if it changes as its only done 2-300 so far.

Anyway, now its moving under its own steam again I noticed the front bumper was looking a bit tired. I'll admit to the damage at the bottom, couple of stone chips here and there, but the rest have come from bell ends who can't park and have used my bumper as their brakes the fookwits  :(

Nice bit of spider cracking too
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/20120914_144408.jpg

A sad state of affairs :o So this time round I got hold of some flexible filler for the cracks
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/filler.jpg

Cut out the old filler
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/cutout.jpg

And loaded up with the new stuff
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/20120914_152703.jpg
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/20120914_152714.jpg

Unfortunately the only way of getting rid of the spider cracks is removing all the paint in the affected areas, so I got jiggy with some 40 grit working up to 500
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/prep1.jpg

Primer and smoothed off with 600
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/prime.jpg

And rattle canned
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/paint1.jpg

That'll do for another two years or so until it needs to be redone again I'm sure :rl: :p

Unfortunately my arches are pure rust so I wasn't expecting it to be very pretty, but I had to give it a try....
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/leftflare.jpg

Shame really as It would have been nice to work with it, but as the flare has gone through the swage line its never going to look pretty even if tidied in my eyes. I do have a pair of overs in the shed for such an eventuality, so will get them on soon and tidy the rusty bits up.

Found a new home for my aerial, no idea how well it will work though
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/aerial.jpg

Started fitting the overs
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/20121027_111115.jpg

The flare was so big that it was stopping them sitting flush
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/biggap.jpg

So I had to trim 10mm off the outside edge of the flare to make them sit a bit better. Still need a little more taken off but better than the first fit
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/adjustedgap.jpg

I decided to go the rivnut route for easy removal and refitting and its helping already getting them just right. Make some holes like so
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/hole1.jpg

Then make them bigger
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/hole2.jpg

And add rivnuts
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/hole3.jpg

Other side sat a lot better

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/betterfit1.jpg

Been having a bit of a fettle, All my speakers stopped working. It turned out one of the speaker cables had got wedged in the flare and grounded out as I re routed my speaker wires in the rear quarter. Rewired and all was well.

I realized that I haven't actually got a picture of the whole car on here yet so here are a few of how she currently is as of today, little bit dirty after a drive and fording some floods :)

No, they come from a German company called titanium touch

what's the size of your tyres mate?

BTW, nice build ;)
265/35's on the rear

It does need a remap to take full advantage of the headwork, but it was running 380bhp before the last rebuild with a standard head, I'd estimate its about 400ish, which is enough for now.

Had and nice exhaust rattle that I fixed earlier, my ECV which I never use anymore as the cable broke ages ago. It was basically falling apart, so I removed the exhaust and took out all the moving parts for it, plugged any holes left. While I was there I also noticed my elbow was starting to come loose so did them up too, again

I got a tyre on the 17 and chucked it on
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q135/nikkis318i/IMG_20121110_192510.jpg

It was dark and I was lazy, so didn't bother taking it off the ramp fully. It's not the easiest of cars to get on and off a two poster :p

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q135/nikkis318i/IMG_20121110_192745.jpg

I'm not quite sure what it was, but it just didn't look quite right to me with the 17 on the front. I think my car needs an 18" on there for some reason, most likely the kit I guess. I took some more measurements while it was on. Been noticing a little bit more understeer in some situations with my new wider rears. I plan to run a bit more camber on the front to help with that and took that into consideration when making my measurements. The current lip comes in a 2.25". My plan so far is to go up to 18" again and go with a 3" lip and a new rear barrel to make some 18x9.75. It should give a similar offset to the rears, within about 3mm at least which is what you should aim for to get a good handling car regardless of wheels widths.

Brake caliper clearance= 7mm
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q135/nikkis318i/IMG_20121110_192443.jpg
That's with as 25mm spacer. As it stands the new specs would push the new wheel out another 20mm, or 15mm if I used all the caliper space up and fitted 20mm spacers instead. Remember though, quite a bit of that will get dialed out with more cambers

Well a few thousand miles have passed and my new clutch does not seem to be getting better but worse in fact. The last straw came when even in 5th at less than 50mph it wasn't gripping up on open throttle :( Most likely culprit I thought was the flywheel as it had a little high spot on it so I began searching for a replacement lightweight fly. It worked out that for an extra £30 or so on top of the price of a DW fly I could get a XTD complete replacement clutch kit including lightweight flywheel shipped from California so I did that. Just in case it was something else, the pedal was suspect for its light action which didn't really feel like it was capable of the clamping forces it was meant to hold. Anyway it turned up last week, and I swapped it over last weekend.

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/flynew.jpg

On inspection the old standard but lightened fly actually looked better than when it went in and had worn nicely :wack:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/oldfly.jpg

That pointed the finger to the cover but nothing untoward showed up with the rest of it even the paddle was barely worn.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/oldclutch.jpg

The kit I got was the one that says it makes you car nearly un-streetable, partly down to the lack of springs used on the paddle
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/xtdplate.jpg

So as I will be driving it on the road the other paddle only had a few thousand on it and had some springs I decided to throw that in instead
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/reuse.jpg

And the new cover
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/cover.jpg
I also changed out the Silkolene syn 5 for some shockproof Millers stuff on a recommendation from Opie.

While the exhaust was off I changed my divided elbow from a more conventional one from Toyosports.
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/elbcompare.jpg
If I'm honest the quality was terrible. It was hardly finished with a giant lip of weld on the inside just left as it came. I tackled it a bit more to make it a bit more acceptable and smoother and stuck it on
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n215/crxpablos/My%20S13/elbgrind.jpg

The pedal is reassuringly heavier and more direct now :) On the drive home seemed much better with only 1 touch of slip at the higher end of motorway cruising speeds. Prob me getting a bit happy that it wasn't slipping and giving it a bit too much for its 500 mile bedding in period. I still have all the other basically new components of a clutch now. I'll hold on to them until I am happy everything is working correctly as it should
