View Full Version : Distributor wiring question - obdII - Altima plug

No spark, car will not start. OBDI chassis, obdII motor & dizzy. I wired these according to KA to SR diagram floating around. Now one black wire is melted and I'm thinking I may have wired this incorrectly.
I think the multi-colored plug came off an Altima - fits perfectly.

Anyone know which wires go where?

I think I found the problem but haven't fixed it yet:

Pins 5 & 6 were reversed.
Orange wire is connecting to pin 5 on the dizzy (12V). I had this wired to a black wire (ground of some sort). Pin 6 (black wire) should go to a ground, but I had it wired to the power wire (black/white).


The black/white wire was melted pretty badly. Car was not getting any spark or fuel. Probably b/c crank angle sensor was not getting power.

Q: could this wiring fiasco have fried my ecu?
